TMD 설치에 따른 돔 형상 대공간 구조물의 지진응답분석 (Seismic Response Analysis of Dome-Shaped Large Spatial Structures According to TMD Installation)

  • In this study, the seismic response characteristics of the three analysis model with or without TMD were investigated to find out the effective dome shape. The three analysis models are rib type, lattice type and geodesic type dome structure composed of space frame. The maximum vertical and horizontal displacements were evaluated at 1/4 point of the span by applying the resonance harmonic load and historical earthquake loads (El Centro, Kobe, Northridge earthquakes). The study of the effective TMD installation position for the dome structure shows that seismic response control was effective when eight TMDs were installed in all types of analysis model. The investigation of the efficiency of TMD according to dome shape presents that lattice dome and geodesic dome show excellent control performance, while rib dome shows different control performance depending on the historical seismic loads. Therefore, lattice and geodesic types are desirable for seismic response reduction using TMD compared to rib type.

준능동 TMD를 이용한 아치구조물의 지진응답제어 (Seismic Response Control of Arch Structures using Semi-active TMD)

  • 본 연구에서는 지진하중을 받는 대공간 구조물의 지진응답을 저감시키기 위하여 준능등 동조질량제어장치(STMD)를 이용한 제어기법의 가능성을 검토하여 보았다. 이를 위하여 대공간구조물의 기본적인 동적특성을 가지고 있으며 동시에 가장 간단한 구조이기도 한 아치 구조물에 일반적인 TMD 및 STMD를 설치하여 지진응답 제어성능을 평가하였다. STMD의 감쇠력을 조절하기 위해서 널리 사용되고 있는 준능동 제어알고리즘인 그라운드혹(groundhook) 제어기법을 이용하였다. STMD 및 수동 TMD의 성능검토를 위하여 조화지반가속도와 El Centro (1940) 및 Northridge (1994) 지진하중을 사용하였다. 해석결과 수동 TMD에 의해서 아치구조물의 지진응답을 효과적으로 저감시킬 수 있었으며 STMD를 사용하면 수통 TMD 보다 더욱 우수한 응답저감효과를 얻을 수 있는 것을 확인하였다.

첨단기술산업 시설물의 미진동제어를 위한 스마트 면진플랫폼의 적용 (Application of Smart Isolation Platform for Microvibration Control of High-Tech Industry Facilities)

  • In this study, a smart isolation platform has been developed for control of microvibration of high-technology facilities, such as semi-conductor plants and TFT-LCD plants. Previously, microvibration control performance of a smart base isolation system has been investigated. This study compared microvibration control performance of a smart isolation platform with that of conventional base isolation and fixed base. For this purpose, train-induced ground acceleration is used for time history analysis. An MR damper was used to compose a smart isolation platform. A fuzzy logic controller was used as a control algorithm and it was optimized by a multi-objective genetic algorithm. Numerical analysis shows that a smart isolation platform can effectively control microvibration of a high-technology facility subjected to train-induced excitation compared with other models.

컴퓨터 게임이 아동의 공간기술과 단기기억에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Computer Game on Children's Spatial Skills and Short-term Memory Ability)

  • This study investigated children's spatial skills and short term memory ability based on their practice with computer games. The 40 four-year-old and 40 six-year-old subjects were divided by experimental and control groups. Spatial skills of children were assessed by visual speed, mental rotation, and spatial visualization tasks. Short term memory was measured with a digit span task. Results showed that computer game practice enhanced children's memory ability and spatial skills. Even 4-year-olds performed better on mental rotation and spatial visualization tasks after practice. The treatment effect was significant for visual speed of 6-year-olds, short term memory ability and mental rotation of 4-year-olds, and spatial visualization of both 4- and 6-year-olds.

  • It is useful to simulate the human visual function for the purpose of image-processing. In this study, the hardware of the spatial filter with the sensitivity of lateral inhibition is realized by the combination of optical parts with electronic circuits. The diffused film with the characteristics of Gaussian type is prepared as a spatial filter. An object's image is convoluted with the spatial filter. From the difference of the convoluted images, the zero-cross position is detected at video rate. The edge of object is extracted in real-time by the use of this equipment. The resolution of edge changes with the value of the standard deviation of diffused film. In addition, it is possible to extract a directional edge selectively when the spatial filter with directional selectivity is used instead of Gaussian type of spatial filter.

Binary-phase Complex Spatial Light Modulators Driven by Mirror Symmetry

  • Binary-phase complex spatial light modulators (BP-C-SLMs) are proposed and simulated. This study shows that bottom-top mirror-symmetrical uniaxial systems between two orthogonal polarizers allow one to construct BP-C-SLMs. BP-C-SLMs double the information-handling capacity per pixel, compared to the conventional amplitude-only spatial light modulators (A-SLMs), as well as being simply implemented with a single spatial light modulator (SLM), rather than a combination of an A-SLM and a binary-phase SLMs. Under limited conditions, BP-C-SLMs can control only the amplitude in single-phase space, and act as A-SLMs.

공간데이터 크리깅 적용을 위한 공간상관함수 추정 (Estimation of Spatial Coherency Functions for Kriging of Spatial Data)

  • 지구통계학적인 공간분석의 대표적인 방법인 크리깅(kriging)을 적용하기 위해서는 두 관측점 사이의 거리에 기반한 상관성을 나타내는 공간상관함수의 추정이 우선적으로 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 크리깅에 적용할 수 있는 대표적인 상관함수인 semi-variogram, homeogram, covariance function에 대하여 국가지오이드 모델을 기반으로 추정하였다. 경위도 각각 2°의 대상지역 내 통합기준점의 지오이드고를 이용하였으며, 선형모델을 이용하여 공간적인 편향성을 제거하였다. 전체 100개의 샘플 포인트에 대해서 중복되지 않은 두 점 간의 거리를 기준으로 구간을 나누고, 각 함수에 대한 경험적인 값을 계산하였다. 공간상관함수의 경험적인 값은 각각 두 개의 모델에 최소제곱조정 방법으로 피팅한 결과 semi-variogram의 wave 모델 적합도가 가장 높았으며, homeogram과 covariance function은 exponential 모델이 상대적으로 좋은 피팅 결과를 보였다. 본 연구에서 결정한 공간상관함수는 추후 다양한 크리깅 방법을 통해 임의 지점에서의 예측값에 대한 정확도 검증과 이에 대한 평균제곱예측오차(Mean Squared Prediction Error, MSPE)를 계산함으로써 각 함수의 활용성에 대한 추가적인 연구가 수행되어야 한다.

  • Including a TV set and a monitor, personal audio system is raising a great interest. In this study, we applied a method to make a good bright zone around the user and dark zone to other region by maximizing the ratio of sound energy between the bright and dark zone. It has been well known as acoustic contrast control. We have attempted to use a line loudspeaker array system to localize the sound in our listening zone. It depends on the size of the zone and array parameters, for example, array size, loudspeaker unit spacing, wave length of sound. We have considered these parameters as spatial variables and studied the effects. And we have found that each spatial variable has its own characteristic and shows very different effect. Genetic algorithms are introduced to find out the optimum value of spatial variables. As a result, we can improve the result of the acoustic contrast control by optimum value of spatial variables.

무선 Ad hoc 네트워크에서의 공간재이용을 위한 매체접근제어프로토콜 (A Media Access Control for Spatial Reuse in Wireless Ad hoc Networks)

  • 무선 Ad hoc 네트워크에 지향성 안테나를 사용함으로써 간섭의 영향 감소, 공간재이용(spatial reuse) 증가, 그리고 통신용량 증가 등의 장점을 실현할 수 있다. 그러나 기존의 IEEE 802.11 MAC 프로토콜은 무지 향성 안테나를 고려하여 설계되었기 때문에 기존의 MAC 프로토콜을 지향성 안테나를 탑재한 무선 Ad hoc 네트워크에 적용할 경우 그 장점을 효율적으로 제공할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 최적의 공간재이용을 통한 성능향상을 달성하기 위한 MAC 프로토콜을 제안하였으며, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 기존의 MAC과 통신효율과 종단간 지연을 비교하였다.

풍응답과 지진응답의 다중제어를 위한 스마트 아웃리거 댐퍼의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of Smart Outrigger Damper for Multiple Control of Wind and Seismic Responses)

  • An outrigger damper system has been proposed to reduce dynamic responses of tall buildings. In previous studies, an outrigger damper system was optimally designed to decrease a wind-induced or earthquake-induced dynamic response. When an outrigger damper system is optimally designed for wind excitation, its control performance for seismic excitation deteriorates. Therefore, a smart outrigger damper system is proposed in this study to make a control system that can simultaneously reduce both wind and seismic responses. A smart outrigger system is made up of MR (Magnetorheological) dampers. A fuzzy logic control algorithm (FLC) was used to generate command voltages sent for smart outrigger damper system and the FLC was optimized by genetic algorithm. This study shows that the smart outrigger system can provide good control performance for reduction of both wind and earthquake responses compared to the general outrigger system.
