보편적 주시특성을 반영한 시야각 보정 공간구조 분석 (Spatial Structure Analysis of View Angle Correction reflecting Characteristics of Universal Observation)

  • 인간의 시각구조는 시야각과 가시거리에 의해 형성된다. 그러나 시지각에 기반한 대다수의 공간구조분석이론은 시야각을 반영하고 있지 않거나 평면적인 시야각만을 고려하고 있다. 일부 반영하는 이론들도 시야각에 포함된 부분과 제외된 부분을 이분법적으로 분리시킨 이론으로서 인간의 보편적 주시특성이 배제되어 있다. 본 연구는 아이트래킹 실험을 통하여 시야각의 한계를 실증적으로 파악하고 시야각별 주시확률을 도출하여, 이를 3차원 가시성 분석이론에 적용하였다. 그리고 시야각체 제한이 가능한 공간 시지각 분석어플리케이션을 제작하고 여기에 시야각별 Multiple frustum culling의 개념을 적용하여 그 가능성을 파악하였다. 주시특성 파악은 33명을 대상으로 이동형 아이트래커를 이용하여 임의의 공간에 대한 3분간의 보행과정을 측정한 데이터를 수집하였으며, 각도별로 주시고정 빈도 확률을 분석하여 데이터를 마련하였다.

'열린경관'과 '가려진경관'의 이미지와 선호도 비교 - 패럴랙스(Parallax) 효과 유무를 중심으로 - (The Image and Preference Comparison between 'Opened Landscape' and 'Filtered Landscape' - Focused on With and Without Parallax Effect -)

  • The purpose of this study is not only to compare between 'Opened Landscape' and 'Filtered Landscape' image and preference but also to suggests a guide line of planting design for progressive realization. For this, the image structures of photo-sketch simulation for parallax landscape have been investigated by Semantic Differential scale(S.D. scale) and the Factor analysis. The results could be summarized as follows. The results of S.D. scale values for landscape through parallax were greater than non-parallax landscape. The scenes through parallax were better preferred to direct view. Thus the results of photo-sketch simulation test support the expected hypothesis that the visual environment of complexity and variety is closely correlated with the parallax effect and monotonous or non-parallax environment, and parallax effect on close view more bigger than the distant view. Factors covering the spatial image of parallax landscape were found to be seven and Total values were 60.35 %. The most important factors determining the parallax effect were Factors I 'depth of space' and VI 'expectation of space and interest'. An outstanding view must be handled properly to be preserved or accentuated. In this sense, the parallax spatial beauty with tree could be improved through the visual aspects of plan arrangements and the progressive realization appeared to be one effective design technique for landscape planning and design.

GIS를 이용한 철도 연변 낙석, 산사태 정보시스템 개발 (Development of Railroad Rockfall and Landslide Information System using GIS)

  • 본 연구에서는 지리정보시스템(GIS)을 이용하여 철도 연변 낙석, 산사태 관련 공간정보를 검색 및 출력 등을 관리할 수 있는 정보시스템을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 전국 철도 노선 중 낙석 및 산사태 발생 가능성이 높은 경춘선, 영동선, 중앙선, 태백선, 정선선의 2.5 km 혹은 5 km 반경 지역에 대해 철도 관련 정보, 각종 지도 관련 정보, 지형분석 정보, 수문기상 정보, 현장 조사된 낙석 관련 정보 등 각종 공간 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 그리고 구축된 공간 데이터베이스를 관리하는 철도 연변 낙석, 산사태 정보시스템을 개발하였다. 본 정보시스템은 보기환경, 테이블환경, 차트환경, 레이아웃환경, 프로젝트환경 등 5개로 구성되어 있다. 본 정보시스템의 기능은 구축된 공간 데이터베이스를 입력, 검색, 출력 뿐 아니라 자료 변환, 자료 및 범례 편집, 라벨 생성, 화면 확대, 축소, 지도 작성 그림 편집, 문자 DB 관리, 차트작성, 도움말 등 다양하다. 본 정보시스템은 ArcView의 스크립트 언어인 Avenue를 이용하여 개발되었고 풀다운 메뉴 및 아이콘 방식을 채택하여 사용자가 사용하기 쉽게 개발되었다. 구축된 공간 데이터베이스와 개발된 정보시스템은 낙석 및 산사태 관리 및 분석을 위한 기본 자료 및 도구로 사용될 수 있다.

  • The revolution of new media has overthrown the existing social structure and brought about the changes in the concepts of the space and subject. These changes are identical to the existential issue of the space and subject and to fundamental issue of spatial design. This study will interpret the new media in view of ontology and analyze the characteristics by applying it to spatial design. In this study, the characteristics of new media of ontological viewpoint were divided into six categories containing the process space, the space of exterior meaning, the space of the affairs, interactive subject, playful subject and extension of sense, which were the basis for this analysis. The results showed that the expression characteristics of spatial concept of ontology and subject concepts revealed in the areas of architectural surface, the space of art and installation, and architectural design process.

  • In this paper a new "limited view frequency correlation algorithm" for diffraction topography is proposed. In this algorithm the problem of limited view sampling is solved by spectrum of spatial frequencies of refractive index. This algorithm is very important in a view of reduction of scanning time and improvement of considerably higher image quality object reconstruction.struction.

한국 도시의 조망경관 관리를 위한 미국 도시 조망경관 관리기법 사례연구 (A Case Study on Urban Scenic View Protection Methods in U.S.A. for the Management of Urban Scenic View in Korea)

  • Management practices and ordinances for urban scenic view protection are varied by cities because they have their distinctive nature and social environment. Therefore landscape management methods for urban scenic views are generally varied by the characteristics of city landscape and ordinance. This case study for scenic view protection practices in U.S.A. is very meaningful and appropriate because cities initiate a plan and/or an ordinance to manage urban scenic view in Korea. Urban scenic view protection methods were analyzed based on followings: 1) how to select scenic view resources and define spatial areas for preserving them, 2) how to control building height, open view corridor and guide landscaping and 3) how to carry out view protection methods and organize them in laws or ordinances. Findings of this study will be applied usefully in the development of urban scenic view protection methods in Korea.

Scalable Multi-view Video Coding based on HEVC

  • In this paper, we propose an integrated spatial and view scalable video codec based on high efficiency video coding (HEVC). The proposed video codec is developed based on similarity and uniqueness between the scalable extension and 3D multi-view extension of HEVC. To improve compression efficiency using the proposed scalable multi-view video codec, inter-layer and inter-view predictions are jointly employed by using high-level syntaxes that are defined to identify view and layer information. For the inter-view and inter-layer predictions, a decoded picture buffer (DPB) management algorithm is also proposed. The inter-view and inter-layer motion predictions are integrated into a consolidated prediction by harmonizing with the temporal motion prediction of HEVC. We found that the proposed scalable multi-view codec achieves bitrate reduction of 36.1%, 31.6% and 15.8% on the top of ${\times}2$, ${\times}1.5$ parallel scalable codec and parallel multi-view codec, respectively.

Quality Enhancement for Hybrid 3DTV with Mixed Resolution Using Conditional Replenishment Algorithm

  • This paper proposes a conditional replenishment algorithm (CRA) to improve the visual quality (where spatial resolutions of the left and right views are mismatched) of a hybrid stereoscopic 3DTV that is based on the ATSC-M/H standard. So as to generate an enhanced view, the CRA is to choose the better substitute among a disparity-compensated view with high quality and a simply interpolated view. The CRA generates a disparity map that includes modes and disparity vectors as additional information. It also employs a quad-tree structure with variable block size by considering the spatial correlation of disparity vectors. In addition, it takes advantage of the disparity map used in a previous frame to keep the amount of additional information as small as possible. The simulation results show that the proposed CRA can successfully improve the peak signal-to-noise ratio of a poor-quality view and consequently have a positive effect on the subjective quality of the resulting 3D view.
