  • Differential spatial modulation uses the antenna index to transmit information, which improves the spectral efficiency, and completely bypasses any channel side information in the recommended setting. A generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation based on distributed multiple turbo code is put forward and its performances in Rayleigh fading channels is analyzed. The generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is a coded-cooperation communication scheme, in which we proposed a new joint parallel iterative decoding method. Moreover, the code matched interleaver is considered to be the best choice for the generalized multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation schemes, which is the key factor of turbo code. Monte Carlo simulated results show that the proposed cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is better than the corresponding non-cooperative scheme over Rayleigh fading channels in multiple input and output communication system under the same conditions. In addition, the simulation results show that the code matched interleaver scheme gets a better diversity gain as compared to the random interleaver.

  • An optical adder for a modified signed-digit(MSD) number system using joint spatial encoding method is proposed. In order to minimize the numbers of symbolic substitution rules, nine input patterns were divided into five groups of the same addition results. For recognizing the input reference patterns, masks and reference patterns without any other spatial operations are used. This adder is implemented by smaller system in size than a conventional adder.

  • A novel approach for the feature extraction of handwritten characters is proposed by using spatial filtering neural networks with 4 layers. The proposed system first removes rough pixels which are easy to occur in handwritten characters. The system then extracts and removes the boundary information which have no influence on characters recognition. Finally, The system extracts feature information and removes the noises from feature information. The spatial filters adapted in the system correspond to the receptive fields of ganglion cells in retina and simple cells in visual cortex. With PE2 Hangul database, we perform experiments extracting features of handwritten characters recognition. It will be shown that the network can extract feature informations from handwritten characters successfully.

  • The aim of this paper was mainly to interpret the real information-missing patch of image by using the kriging interpolation technology of spatial statistics. The TM Image of the Jingouling Forest Farm of Wangqing Forestry Bureau of Northeast China on 1 July 1997 was used as the tested material in this paper. Based on the classification for the TM image, the information pixel-missing patch of image was interpolated by the kriging interpolation technology of spatial statistics theory under the image treatment software-ERDAS and the geographic information system software-Arc/Info. The interpolation results were already passed precise examination. This paper would provide a method and means for interpreting the information-missing patch of image.

  • A digital map of 1/5,000 scale provides basic information to be utilized in various businesses, such as in land management, urban information system of a local government, navigation of private sectors and others. 1/5,000 digital map, which contains information of the entire land of South Korea, is performed as a national fundamental map, however, comparing to 1,000 digital map, it has some difficulties in terms of positional accuracy and attribute data for applying in urban areas. Also, since the paradigm of spatial information services has been changed, more accurate positional information and rich attribute information are required for the government businesses and private map services. Particularly, demands for the high precision spatial information based on large-scale digital map is increasing in facility managements due to rapid changes in urban areas and various spatial analyses. For those reasons, this study proposes how to apply and use precise spatial information based on 1/1,000 digital. Firstly, an analysis of legal system related to large-scale digital map and spatial information is conducted in the research. Afterwards, the ways are suggested to improve systematical utilizations of 1/1,000 digital map. We also define existing applications of spatial information in public and private sector, and recommend methodology that can be utilized high precision spatial information.

  • In 21st century, tourism can's be formed without tourism information systems. Like other cities Kwangju Met. City has managed tourist information system though internet, but it provide tourist only with poor information as text datum and image datum. Therefore tourist can's get the effective and proper tourism information about Kwangju from that system. The purpose of this paper is to develop tourism information system on the basis of geographic information system for providing tourist with effective geographic tourism information. In the first place, spatial database on tourism information about Kwangju was built by 3 stage of areal scope: national scale, provincial scale and city scale. Next, by analyzing existing tourist information system, 4 major system function is developed: viewing tourism map, guiding tourism information, searching tourism information and printing tourism map. By complement of multimedia datum, this system shall be a major tourism resource of Kwangju.

  • The BLAST-OFDM system is an efficient method for high data rate multimedia transmission in futurewireless communication system. In this paper, a linear preceding mechanism and an efficient antenna-subcarrier assignment algorithm are proposed for the conventional BLAST-OFDM system, in order to utilize the full spatial diversity and the interleaved frequency diversity. By computer simulation, the proposed system has proved to achieve 4-5㏈ gain over the conventional BLAST-OFDM system.

  • Large-scale natural disasters such as typhoon and localized torrential downpour cause widespread human and property damages. Recently, management systems using GIS are being developed to manage such disasters from various angles. Integrated disaster management encompasses diverse areas such as prediction through the computation of disaster information and field support for response. The development of disaster information systems must also consider the installation of various computation modules. Furthermore, GIS is generally included for realistic description of the field situation and for spatial operations. This study aims to develop the core module of a visualization platform for the 3D GIS services of integrated disaster information using Unity engine This system will enable integrated disaster management from various angles, encompassing disaster prevention experts, field support personnel, and citizens.
