Construction of Farmlands Spatial Information for Reasonable Adjustment of Farmland Use (합리적인 농지이용조정을 위한 농지공간정보구축)

  • Farmland spatial data are needed as a basic information in conducting rational use of farmlands in regional scale. This study develops a method that can be used to make up such farmland spatial data in a simple way and to develop a technique to manage them in a unitary way, and examines the effectiveness of the technique by applying it to the case area. A method that Web-Service Raster Image and Digital Cadastal Map can be utilized as a base map was devised. It was designed applying the vector system, in which one lot of farmland is area unit. Raster image and field survey data were combined to increase the accuracy of data. The lot boundaries of the existing boundary map were adjusted to the shapes of actual farmlands using GIS edition function. A proper farmland use classification system to the area characteristics was established and data obtained from the field survey were coded. Usually it is very difficult to identify the size of one lot of actual farmland in the existing space data, based on the results of the case study, the result map showed actual topography very realistically. Also the frequently occurring lot divisions and the serious topographical modifications by natural disasters frequently have made it impossible to survey farmlands on the catastral map in the field. But the final map had a great usefulness in that it may solve such problems by expressing the filed survey results graphically.

  • Extracting information of maps is necessary to establish the GIS. In this paper, a house recognition method on the scanned topographic map is described. A contour detection method is used to extract houses from the scanned maps and RLE (run-length encoding) method is used for manipulating houses touching grid lines. To handle houses touched to roads and borderlines, morphological operation is used. To remove misrecognition occurred by morphological operation, the legions which contain characters on the map are also automatically eliminated.

  • The telecommunication technology in the 21st century has come up to the standard which could transmit various spatial information by means of on-line and the printing technology using computers has been on a par with presswork in quality. In addition, map users also would like to get various spatial information through on-line directly or indirectly. None the less, the supply system of national base map in our country has maintained the off-line sales method. It is owing to this reason that the nation's supply system has shown a high degree of inefficiency from the viewpoint of the inventory control, rapidity, and economical efficiency as compared with the on-line sales system in the developed countries.   • Recently, Korea became the first country which started Terrestrial-DMB service. The DMB service is still at a very early stage throughout the world. At this stage, it is an important issue to develop DMB contents which distinguish DMB from traditional broadcasting by utilizing DMB's mobility. In this paper, we will propose outline of map service through DMB along with related services such as traffic and location information. This outline includes the map service protocol and map data structure for DMB. There is little research at the moment related to it, and this preliminary research enables map service through DMB. A map service would bring DMB a distinct advantage over traditional broadcasting. Moreover, further services based on broadcasting network and mobility would contribute to rapid growth of DMB.

  • Recently, many studies on the construction of management system for road facility have been accomplished, and in its process the digital map is used as the essential data for spatial database. But in case where the existing topographical map or completion map of construction data is not sufficient for Data Base construction, the compilation, modification or renewal of digital map should be conflicted with large obstacles. This study intended to extract the road facility information using the image data of various form such as aerial photographs, terrestrial photographs and so on. The terrestrial photographic images are taken by hand-held camera, digital camera and video camera which are widely used and of low price in general. This study used the single frame images only for the raw image data, and the extracted spatial and attribute data from the images are used for modifying and updating the database. In addition, the creating possibility of the digital map in the relative scale using the spatial data extracted from the single images was tried.

  • Zoning data such as national land use planning map, urban land use planning map, agricultural promotion zoning ap, forest land zoning map has a relationship each other in law and spatial context. But difficulties in data share and the lack of accuracy of manual work makes serious inconsistence son zoning data relationship. This causes many trial and error in land use. For resolving this problem the data modellingmethod is presented as a technical solution.

  • To build a spatial database from digital maps, it is necessary to rebuild a seamless-map with discrete tile-based digital maps. The sequential merge methods have the disadvantage of degenerating concurrency. In this paper, we consider the implementation of the system based on modified 2PC protocol to retain the concurrent merge. As the engineers share the merge through the system, they can concurrently proceed to merge by negotiation.

  • In these days, considering the trend to make various information blended based on spatial information like road, buildings and geography, it is to be very important to visualize maps for showing the information efficiently. However, geometry which is composed with line, polygon commonly used on web service has limitation to express information by limit of usage as well as spending certain time to show the information via map. That's why this study develops the efficient way to visualize huge and complex spatial information. This way is to bring partial space with spatial query, and then query and expand information excluded the former area after detecting movement event based on client. When the way is implemented, it will be expected to make efficient visualization in entire system by not bringing unnecessary information but shortening spending time to show area because it just shows areas which clients want to see.
