  • Fluorescent receptors have gained much attention because of their usefulness in analysis and clarification of the roles of biomolecules in living systems. Molecular structures of the integrated type including that the receptor itself is fluorescent, and play an important role in having the functionality or selectivity of the fluorescent compounds. These spaced type fluorescent receptors are required to have special molecular design in order to transmit the information of molecular recognition to the fluorescent unit through the spacer unit. Compared with the spaced type fluorescent receptors, number of the integrated type receptors is limited due to the difficult molecular design and synthesis. Modification of alteration of the fluorophore frequently caused deterioration of the fluorescent property. Various spaced type and integrated type fluorescent receptors including switch on-off receptors are introduced in this article.

  • Our aim is to construct Hermite-type exponentially fitted interpolation formulas that use not only the pointwise values of an 𝜔-dependent function f but also the values of its first derivative at three unequally spaced nodes. The function f is of the form, f(x) = g1(x) cos(𝜔x) + g2(x) sin(𝜔x), x ∈ [a, b], where g1 and g2 are smooth enough to be well approximated by polynomials. To achieve such an aim, we first present Hermite-type exponentially fitted interpolation formulas IN built on the foundation using N unequally spaced nodes. Then the coefficients of IN are determined by solving a linear system, and some of the properties of these coefficients are obtained. When N is 2 or 3, some results are obtained with respect to the determinant of the coefficient matrix of the linear system which is associated with IN. For N = 3, the errors for IN are approached theoretically and they are compared numerically with the errors for other interpolation formulas.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Reality Orientation Therapy and Spaced Retrieval Therapy of the applied of CERAD-K type cognitive rehabilitation program for mild Alzheimer's patients. The tool used to this study was CERAD-K neuropsychological test consists of Boston Naming, a simple mental status, the word list recall, and configure behavior. A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The participants were 85 mild Alzheimer's patients (experimental group: 32, control group: 53) who registered G Health Center, in Gyeonggi province. Those Data were collected from 10:00 to 11:00, 14:00 to 15:00, twice a week on Tuesday and Friday, 8 session, from September 1 to September 30, 2014. Control group was participated daily routine program only in the G public health center. The data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The results of this study were as follows;Boston Naming(F=3.22, p<.001), simple mental status(F=5.92, p<.001), and configure behavior(F=4.67, p<.001) were accepted, but word list recall(F=.75 p>.05) was not accepted. The study findings indicate that the Reality Orientation Therapy and Spaced Retrieval Therapy of the applied of CERAD-K type cognitive rehabilitation program is effective and can be recommended as intervention for mild Alzheimer's patients.

  • Holoprosencephaly of unknown definite causes, has been associated with several chromosome abnormalities involving the autosomes and the sex chromosomes. The most commonly reported associations include dup(3p), del(7q), deletions of chromosome 13, trisomy 13, trisomy 18, and triploidy. In previously reported cases in Korea, none were associated with chromosome 21 anomalies. In conclusion, we reported the first case of holoprosencephaly(semilobar type) associated with pure monosomy 21. We experienced a semilobar type holoprosencephaly with monosomy 21 in a neonate who had multiple congenital anomalies, including an abnormal face, a small thorax with widely spaced hypoplastic nipples and nail hypoplasia, lung hypoplasia with severe scoliosis and cardiac abnormalities. Chromosomal analysis revealed a 45, XY, -21.

  • The purpose of this study was to propose the method reproducing three dimensional figure data to a reconstructed body by the styrofoam board. To make the reconstructed body, the 3D figure data were rotated to make symmetry and the surfaces were edited. The horizontal curves were gathered equally-spaced based on the waist horizontal plane. we proposed the process to cut the styrofoam board according to the horizontal curves, to assemble them to organize the shape of the body figure and to coat the surface with the knitted. The 3-dimensional figure data of straight type, swayback type, lean-back type and bend-forward type were selected and the reconstructed bodies were made as above. And the compatibility was verified by the measurement comparison and deviations between 3-dimensional figure data and reconstructed body.

  • A recently recognized connective tissue disorder, Loeys-Dietz syndrome (LDS) is a genetic aortic aneurysm syndrome caused by mutations in the transforming growth factor-receptor type I or II gene (TGFBR1 or TGFBR2). They have distinctive phenotypic abnormalities including widely spaced eyes (hypertelorism), bifid uvula or cleft palate, and arterial tortuosity with aortic aneurysm or dissection throughout the arterial tree. LDS is characterized by aggressive and rapid progression of aortic aneurysm. Therefore, the patients with distinct phenotype, marked aortic dilatation and aneurysm at early age should be suspected to be affected by LDS and rapid TGFBR gene analysis should be done. We report one child diagnosed as LDS due to typical phenotypes and two novel missense mutations of the TGFBR2 gene (c.1526G>T and c.1528A>T).

  • This paper describes a study of the influence of shield tunnel construction on the displacements and stresses induced in the linings of existing nearby parallel tunnels. The paper presents a brief review of a set of laboratory scale model research programme investigating the influence of tunnel proximity and alignment, liner stiffness on the nature of the interactions between closely spaced tunnels in clay. A total of two sets of carefully controlled physical model tests were performed. A cylindrical test tank was developed and used to produce clay samples of Speswhite kaolin. In each of the tests, three model tunnels were installed in order to conduct two interaction exts that have been carried out to investigate the interaction problem between parallel tunnels. The results of these tests are compared with the results of finite element analysis to investigate the techniques that must be used to obtain reliable numerical solutions to this type of problem.

  • This paper studied adaptive blind equalizer which belong to Bussgang type. It is well known that blind equalizer performs equalization without using a training sequence. Especially, this paper concentrated on real time processing of them. The channel characteristic was obtained from measurements taken in a real urban multipath environment. A T/2 fractionally-spaced equalizer was used at the receiving end. Our computer simulations demonstrated that Stop and Go, Benveniste-Goursat, and optimal Bussgang algorithms have relatively low MSE property. CMA shows faster convergence property than any other of Bussgang type algorithm.

  • A reliability Acceptance Sampling Plan (RASP) is developed for testing the exponential mean lifetime under the periodic (i. e., equally-spaced) inspection and Type I censoring. Under the periodic inspection, the exact sampling distribution of maximum likelihood (ML) estimator of mean can not be derived. Hence sample size and acceptance criterion are determined by the algorithm proposed on the basis of Monte Carlo simulation such that the producer's and consumer's risks are satisfied for given censoring time and number of inspections. In addition, the developed RASP is compared in terms of sampling size, OC curve, and expected completion time. The effects for the RASP by the chosen inspection scheme are also discussed.

  • Generally, diaphragms are installed in the box girder to prevent or decrease the distortion of the cross section. In engineering practice, diaphragms are spaced in 5m intervals without reasonable basis. the usual diaphragm type is solid-plate type. It is considered to be noneconomical design to the almost design engineers. In this paper, the parametric study was performed to present the design proposal about the diaphragm stiffness and spacing only in the single cell box girder. For that, the distortional warping normal stress, bending normal stress and transverse bending normal stress were analyzed using finite element program 'SMB' for the accurate structural analysis.
