  • Let H be a Hilbert space. Assume that $0{\leq}{\alpha}$, ${\beta}{\leq}1$ and r(t) > 0 in I = [0, T]. By means of the fixed point theorem of Leray-Schauder type the existence principles of solutions for two point boundary value problems of the form $\array{(r(t)x^{\prime}(t))^{\prime}+f(t,x(t),r(t)x^{\prime}(t))=0,\;t{\in}I\\x(0)=x(T)=0}$ are established where f satisfies for positive constants a, b and c ${\mid}{f(t,x,y){\mid}{\leq}a{\mid}x{\mid}^{\alpha}+b{\mid}y{\mid}^{\beta}+c\;\;for\;all(t,x,y){\in}I{\times}H{\times}H$.

  • Let (X,d) be a metric space and let T be a mapping from X into itself. We say that a metric space (X,d) is T-orbitally complete if every Cauchy sequence of the form ${T^{n_i}x}_{i \in N}$ for $x \in X$ converges to a point in X.

  • It is shown that for any space A, the cofibration X \to X \Join \sumA \to \sumA \wedge X$ decomposable when X is a co-T-space. It is also obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the cofibration $X \to X \Join A \to A \wedge X$ is trivial, in the sense of cofibre homotopy type.

  • Two axis gimbal type X-band antenna system has been widely used to effectively transmit the real time image data from the observation satellite to the ground station. The micro-vibration generated by stepping motor actuation and imperfect intermeshed gear configuration of the antenna is one of the sources to degrade the image quality. To guarantee a high quality image of high resolution observation satellite, micro-vibration isolation of X-band antenna is required. In this paper, the X-band antenna vibration isolation system using pseudoelastic SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) mesh washer has been newly suggested. The basic characteristics of the SMA mesh washer isolator proposed in this study has been measured through static load tests and its effectiveness has been demonstrated by the micro-vibration isolation test of the X-band antenna.

  • Let $X_k(x)=({\int}^T_o{\alpha}_1(s)dx(s),...,{\int}^T_o{\alpha}_k(s)dx(s))\;and\;X_{\tau}(x)=(x(t_1),...,x(t_k))$ on the classical Wiener space, where ${{\alpha}_1,...,{\alpha}_k}$ is an orthonormal subset of $L_2$ [0, T] and ${\tau}:0 is a partition of [0, T]. In this paper, we establish a change of scale formula for conditional Wiener integrals $E[G_{\gamma}|X_k]$ of functions on classical Wiener space having the form $$G_{\gamma}(x)=F(x){\Psi}({\int}^T_ov_1(s)dx(s),...,{\int}^T_o\;v_{\gamma}(s)dx(s))$$, for $F{\in}S\;and\;{\Psi}={\psi}+{\phi}({\psi}{\in}L_p(\mathbb{R}^{\gamma}),\;{\phi}{\in}\hat{M}(\mathbb{R}^{\gamma}))$, which need not be bounded or continuous. Here S is a Banach algebra on classical Wiener space and $\hat{M}(\mathbb{R}^{\gamma})$ is the space of Fourier transforms of measures of bounded variation over $\mathbb{R}^{\gamma}$. As results of the formula, we derive a change of scale formula for the conditional Wiener integrals $E[G_{\gamma}|X_{\tau}]\;and\;E[F|X_{\tau}]$. Finally, we show that the analytic Feynman integral of F can be expressed as a limit of a change of scale transformation of the conditional Wiener integral of F using an inversion formula which changes the conditional Wiener integral of F to an ordinary Wiener integral of F, and then we obtain another type of change of scale formula for Wiener integrals of F.

  • Let ($X, \Beta, \mu$) be a measure space with the $\sigma$-algebra $\Beta$ and the probability measure $\mu$. Throughouth this article set equalities and inclusions are understood as being so modulo measure zero sets. A transformation T defined on a probability space X is said to be measure preserving if $\mu(T^{-1}E) = \mu(E)$ for $E \in B$. It is said to be ergodic if $\mu(E) = 0$ or i whenever $T^{-1}E = E$ for $E \in B$. Consider the sequence ${x, Tx, T^2x,...}$ for $x \in X$. One may ask the following questions: What is the relative frequency of the points $T^nx$ which visit the set E\ulcorner Birkhoff Ergodic Theorem states that for an ergodic transformation T the time average $lim_{n \to \infty}(1/N)\sum^{N-1}_{n=0}{f(T^nx)}$ equals for almost every x the space average $(1/\mu(X)) \int_X f(x)d\mu(x)$. In the special case when f is the characteristic function $\chi E$ of a set E and T is ergodic we have the following formula for the frequency of visits of T-iterates to E : $$ lim_{N \to \infty} \frac{$\mid${n : T^n x \in E, 0 \leq n $\mid$}{N} = \mu(E) $$ for almost all $x \in X$ where $$\mid$\cdot$\mid$$ denotes cardinality of a set. For the details, see [8], [10].

  • We report on our Galactic plane searches for magnetars in the archival Chandra X-ray Observatory (CXO) data. We summarize the properties of known magnetars and use them to establish a procedure for magnetar searches. The procedure includes four steps: source finding, spectral characterization, optical counterpart checks, and period searches. We searched 1,282 archival CXO observations, found 32,838 X-ray sources, and selected 25 intriguing candidates using the developed procedure. Although we do not firmly identify a magnetar among them, we significantly reduced the number of targets in future magnetar searches to be done with better X-ray telescopes.

  • On August 31, 2001, ${\sim}$ 1705 - 1718 UT, Cluster was located near the midnight magnetotail, GSE (x, y, z) ${\sim}$ (-19, - 2,2) RE, and observed fast earthward flow bursts in the vicinity of the neutral sheet. They occurred while the tail magnetic field suddenly increased. Using simultaneous measurements in the solar wind, at geosynchronous orbit, and on the ground, it is confirmed that tail magnetic field enhancement is due to an increased solar wind pressure. In the neutral sheet region, strongly enhanced earthward flow bursts perpendicular to the local magnetic field $(V_{{\perp}x})$ were observed. Auroral brightenings localized in the pre-midnight sector (${\sim}$ 2200 - 2400 MLT) occurred during the interval of the $V_{{\perp}x}$ enhancements. The $V_{{\perp}x}$ bursts started ${\sim}$ 2 minutes before the onset of auroral brightenings. Our observations suggest that the earthward flow bursts are associated with tail reconnection directly driven by a solar wind pressure impulse and that $V_{{\perp}x}$ caused localized auroral brightenings.

  • 1RXS J062518.2+733433. The X-ray data was obtained in April 6, 2006 with the XMM-Newton and the optical data with CCD R filter at the 1m telescope of the Lemonsan observatory in 2005-2006 for 11 nights. This source is classified as a magnetic cataclysmic variable with a spin period of 1187.3 s in the optical region. We determine the spin period to be $1187.26\pm0.11$ s using the X-ray data, which is well consistent with the optical studies. However, we find that the pulse profile of the data (0.2-10 keV) folded at the period is different from the quasi-sinusoidal optical profile and is dependent on the selected X-ray energy bands. The results of period searching with times of extrema will be also presented.
