  • Lately in many cases, Spaces are designed by stimulating user's sensibility, emotion, psychological software over based on the user behavior and purpose of space. Because space is not only practical using and use purpose but also the place for expressing ourselves by experiences. But space is a physical thing. so we need to arrange a structure of abstract and formless source of design by sophisticated grammaticalization. Especially storytelling of that abstract thing have characteristics of relation, process among users and space. because storytelling is focused on the discourse of stories and relationship record of that discourses. So this is used by expression device for user's emotion things and subjects in numerous cases. And storytelling is the basic, important element for user's experience in a space. By the way, Overlapping is also basic element for being possible to make experiences by concrete thing. that is because, Overlapping is layering phenomenon of some objects. Overlapping is made distance, distance make depth, and this relations take us an experience. Finally storytelling, Overlapping and space of experience are relation of cause and effect. So in this thesis, researcher looks for the relation characteristics between storytelling and overlapping by experience. and makes the abstract source into concrete and sophisticated formular.

  • Today, fishing villages are on the verge of extinction due to severe aging within the population and outward migration. Recent projects and studies targeting fishing villages viewed the fishing villages from an outsider-centered perspective, without a local-centered understanding of the village as a daily living space. Therefore, to understand the settlement environment of fishing villages, this study analyzed empirical data on the usage behavior of fishing village residents to gain insight into the characteristics of the outdoor space uses of residents in fishing villages. In this regard, a face-to-face survey was conducted among residents, and a village map drawn by the villagers showedthe spatial perception of the villagers. Empirical data on the behavior of fishing villagers using the village space was collected and analyzed through GPS. The study results suggested that residents of fishing villages tend to focus on productive activities, such as fishing, leading to a lack of awareness of other leisure activities and spaces. This monotonous pattern of space utilization within the village appears to stem from an absolute lack of available facilities within the target area. Therefore, in future village regeneration projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in fishing villages, it is essential to consider the residents' perception and utilization of space as a priority. The results of this study can be considered valuable foundational data for understanding the utilization of spaces within fishing villages and can be effectively utilized in planning initiatives to enhance quality of life.

  • In this study, Class II behavior of rock failure process under uniaxial and biaxial compression has been numerically simulated using bonded particle model. Class II behavior of rock was simulated by radial strain controlled uniaxial and biaxial compression tests using a suggested method of ISRM. Micro-parameters used in the simulation were determined based on the laboratory uniaxial compression tests carried out at ${\"{A}}sp{\"{o}}$ Hard Rock Laboratory, Sweden. Class II behavior of ${\"{A}}sp{\"{o}}$ rock was effectively simulated using newly proposed numerical technique in this study, and the results of numerical simulations show good similarity with the complete stress-strain curves for Class II behavior obtained from the laboratory tests.

  • The time-averaged behavior of the three-phase Inductor-Converter Bridge (ICB) circuit has been analyzed by using the state-space averaging method. Especially, a second order approximation in the matrix expansion makes the analysis possible. The results are in a closed form which is quite different from the conventional solution obtained by using the Fourier Series. Therefore, the computational difficulties in evaluating the infinite Fourier series can be avoided and the results derived in this paper are available expecially in real time control. By comparing with the Fourier result, it has been verified that the analysis by means of the state-space averaging method is more accurate and simple. The digital simulation and the equivalent experiments have also been carried out to confirm the theoretical results.

  • A planet revolving around binary star system is a familiar system. Studies of these systems are important because they provide precise knowledge of planet formation and orbit evolution. In this study, a method to determine the evolution of an exoplanet revolving around a binary star system using different rates of stellar mass loss will be introduced. Using a hierarchical triple body system, in which the outer body can be moved with the center of mass of the inner binary star as a two-body problem, the long period evolution of the exoplanet orbit is determined depending on a Hamiltonian formulation. The model is simulated by numerical integrations of the Hamiltonian equations for the system over a long time. As a conclusion, the behavior of the planet orbital elements is quite affected by the rate of the mass loss from the accompanying binary star.

  • The starting point of this study is the concerning of simple behavioral pattern that whoever enters the inner space with taking off his shoes should go out from the position where he laid his shoes. The using of Ondol (floor heating room) and Maru (lifted wood floor) had changed the architectural space from chair-sitting to floor-sitting space, and it also made the behavior of taking off the shoes at the entrance of building and stepping on the lifted floor. This simple behavior has possibility to make lots of changes to the culture of architectural design. With this noticeable point, this paper is talking about the cultural feature of Korean traditional architecture, especially about the influence of tanking off and putting on shoes. The matter of shoes has changed diverse aspects of building and layout planning. It maximized the difference between front and rear part of building and characterized the lateral extension of Korean traditional house. The ritual space also had evolved from chair-sitting to floor-sitting space according to the type of ritual behavioral pattern. The change on the single building level had influenced on the layout planning of architectural complex. For examples, the parallel layout of ChangDeok-gung palace and the long sequential process to the main pavilion of Buddhist temple are the result of the matter of shoes. And NuGak(樓閣), the double-storied pavilion, on the axis of entering sequence's node is one of the unique planning elements that makes possible to go through the building without taking off the shoes and also makes upper level space for staying. In short, Korean traditional architecture that has the chair-sitting spatial origin of the East Asian cultural sphere has pursued new architectural issues and planning methods according to evolution to the floor-sitting culture.

  • The hypervelocity impact simulations of space objects and structures are performed using LS-DYNA. Space objects with spherical, conical, and hollow cylindrical shapes are modeled using the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). The direct and indirect impact zones of a space structure are modeled using the SPH and finite element methods, respectively. The Johnson-Cook material model and Mie-Grüneisen Equation of State are used to represent the nonlinear behavior of metallic materials in hypervelocity impact. In the hypervelocity impact simulations, various impact conditions are considered, such as the shape of the space object, the thickness of the space structure, the impact angle, and the impact velocity. The shapes of debris clouds are quantitatively classified based on the geometric parameters. Conical space objects provide the worst debris clouds for all impact conditions.

  • The ultimate goal of this study can be summed up as follows: First, the utility of Time-Lapse that observes and records people's behavior will be shown and its merits and demerits will be discussed through comparing with other data-collecting methods such as the naked- eye observation, and the specific way in which Time-Lapse can be put to use will be suggested. Second, analysis of use behavior boserved in the plaza of Chungryangri station by Time-Lapse will be made, on the basis of which suggestions will be made concerning planing, designing, layout, and management of the station plaza. Time-Lapse can observe and records the plaza of Chungryangri Staton through 6 different ways of recording in Time-Lapse: 30 seconds, every minute, every two minutes, second every five minutes, every one tenth of a second, and every one fifth of a second, and these different ways of recording were analyzed through comparison from one to each other to check their respective utilities. And also analysis of tracks of pedestrians, density, and use behavior of users were made, according to which the way in which Time-Lapse can be utilized was examined. Several useful results obtained from this study are shown as follows. First, Time-Lapse made it possible to continuously observe for a long time using minimu efforts, and a single tape which is able to cover from 12 hours up to 25 days is useful for observing variation of behavior in space with the passage of time and seasons. Second, among six ways of recording, the recording every one tenth of a second and every one fifth of a second are useful for finding the tracks of pedestrians, the number of users, the member compositions, the time spent in one place, and manner of use. And besides the moving direction and its purpose can be recognized in a short time, which makes it possile to see where crossings of moving directions occur. Third, the recording every thirty seconds, every minute, every two minutes, and every five minutes are useful for analyzing the density in space as well as for finding the number of users and frequency of facilities use. In particular the recording every thirty seconds made it possible to keep the track of pedestrians' walking, and to observe even slowly moving motions such as cleaning. But when the recording interval exceeds one minute, this was not possible. Fourth, time-lapse has advantages over the naked eye observation in several respects. Time-lapse can measure observed behavior and density in terms of number, and locate the position of users. Time-Lapse, if accompanied by other methods such as interviewing and question that can examine psychological aspects like satisfaction or the purpose of use and be a useful device for space studies.

  • The reliable estimation of the system parameters and the accurate prediction of the system behavior are important to design underground structures safely and economically. Especially, the elastic modulus and the in-situ stresses are very important parameters in predicting the behavior of the underground structure. Therefore, the back analysis using the field measurement data is developed to determine accurately the elastic modulus and the in-situ stresses of the underground structural system in this study. A back analysis using the combined finite and boundary element is developed. It can consider the far field boundary condition and is efficient in computation. In this study, a back analysis is performed to predict behaviors of underground structures for the real construction site. The comparison between the results of the back analysis with field measurement data and the obtained material properties from the field test shows good agreement for the real construction site.

  • The present study evaluates geocell reinforced slope behavior. A three dimensional analysis is carried out to simulate soil and geocell elastoplastic behavior using the finite difference software FLAC3D. In order to investigate the geocell reinforcement effect, the geocell aperture size, thickness, geocell placement condition and soil compaction had been considered as variable parameters. Moreover, a comparison is evaluated between geocell reinforcing system and conventional planar reinforcement. The obtained results showed that the pocket size, thickness and soil compaction have considerable influence on the geocell reinforcement slope performance. Moreover, it was found that the critical sliding surface was bounded by the first geocell reinforcement and the slope stability increases, by increasing the vertical space between geocell layers. In addition, the comparison between geocell and geogrid reinforcement indicates the efficiency of using cellular honeycomb geosynthetic reinforcement.
