We estimated the receiver and satellite differential code bias(DCB) based on the ionospheric total electron content(TEC) estimation method. The GPS network which has been operated by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute(KASI) was designed to calculate TEC. The receiver and satellite DCB values were obtained from the weighted least square method with time interval for one hour. The results represented that the receiver DCB values are mostly varying within ${\pm}2m$ meter and are derived comparatively stable within three days. The estimated mean values of the satellite DCB show the maximum and minimum values of 4.09 nano-second(ns), -6.28ns respectively. We could detect great variations of TEC over 9 TECU difference at any time when the DCB sets were applied to TEC estimation.

In this paper, we propose an efficient space-time block coding (STBC) scheme in a cooperative satellite-terrestrial system. The proposed STBC scheme has code rate 1 for a 3 transmit antenna scheme. Because the channel matrix of the proposed scheme is orthogonal, we can use a simple linear decoding algorithm and also can expect improved performance over the conventional scheme. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme has improved performance for bit error rates (BER) than several conventional STBC schemes. In addition, we investigate performance simulation results by power imbalance between the terrestrial repeaters and satellite.
In this paper, an additional degree of freedom in phased multi-input multi-output (phased-MIMO) radar with any arbitrary desired covariance matrix is proposed using space-time codes. By using the proposed method, any desired transmit covariance matrix in MIMO radar (phased-MIMO radars) can be realized by employing fully correlated base waveforms such as phased-array radars and simply extending them to different time slots with predesigned phases and amplitudes. In the proposed method, the transmit covariance matrix depends on the base waveform and space-time codes. For simplicity, a base waveform can be selected arbitrarily (ie, all base waveforms can be fully correlated, similar to phased-array radars). Therefore, any desired covariance matrix can be achieved by using a very simple phased-array structure and space-time code in the transmitter. The main advantage of the proposed scheme is that it does not require diverse uncorrelated waveforms. This considerably reduces transmitter hardware and software complexity and cost. One the receiver side, multiple signals can be analyzed jointly in the time and space domains to improve the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio.

By combining the space-time diversity technique and iterative turbo codes, space-time turbo codes(STTCS) are able to provide powerful error correction capability. However, the multi-path transmission and iterative decoding structure of STTCS make the decoder very complex. In this paper, we propose a low complexity decoder, which can be used to decode STTCS as well as general iterative codes such as turbo codes. The efficient implementation of the backward recursion and the log-likelihood ratio(LLR) update in the proposed algorithm improves the computational efficiency. In addition, if we approximate the calculation of the joint LLR by using the approximate ratio(AR) algorithm, the computational complexity can be reduced even further. A complexity analysis and computer simulations over the Rayleigh fading channel show that the proposed algorithm necessitates less than 40% of the additions required by the conventional Max-Log-MAP algorithm, while providing the same overall performance.
Recently, many complex DSP (Digital Signal Processing) algorithms have being realized on RISC CPU due to good compilation, low power consumption and large memory space. But, real-time implementation of multiple DSP algorithms on RISC requires the minimum and efficient memory usage and the lower occupancy of CPU. In this thesis, the original floating-point code of MPEG-1 audio decoder is converted to the fixed-point code and then optimized to the efficient assembly code in time-consuming function in accord with RISC feature. Finally, compared with floating-point and fixed-point, about 30 and 3 times speed enhancements are achieved respectively. And 3~4 times memory spaces are spared.
This paper presents a practical On-The-Fly(OTF) integer ambiguity resolution algorithm for real-time precise positioning with low cost, $L_1$ single frequency, conventional C/A code GPS receiver. A state reconfiguration scheme is adopted in the Kalman filter to deal with the variation of ambiguity states caused by varying sets of visible GPS satellites. The proposed algorithm reduces the ambiguity search space from the coarse m-level C/A code pseudorange measurements of the conventional C/A code reciever, thereby reducing the computational time. Simulation results are presented to show that the algorithm achieves a cm-level accuracy.

This paper proposes two detection algorithms for Multi-user Space Time Block Code systems. The first one is linear detection Gaussian Elimination algorithm, and then it combined with Ordered Successive Cancellation to get better performance. The comparisons between receiver and other popular receivers, including linear receivers are provided. It will be shown that the performance of Gaussian Elimination receiver is similar but more simplicity than linear detection algorithms and performance of Gaussian Elimination Ordered Successive Cancellation superior as compared to other linear detection method.
In this paper we apply space-time block code with multiple transmitter/receiver antennas to the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) terrestrial broadcasting systems. Especially, we apply Aiamouti scheme with two transmitter antennas and multiple receiver antennas to the ATSC broadcasting system. Also. diversity technique with multiple receiver antennas and space-time block code scheme with multiple transmitter/receiver antennas are compared. Our simulation results show that the ATSC broadcasting system with multiple transmitter/receiver antennas has an extremely good performance than the scheme with single transmitter/receiver antenna in the Rayleigh fading channel.
This paper introduces the downlink Eigen-beamformer with Space-Time Block Code (STBC)[1,2] employed on the MISO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) systems. The proposed scheme is acquired both transmit diversity gain from STBC and beamforming gain from Eigen-beamformer. In general, it is well described that the diversity gain be maximized when channel parameters associated to fingers are mutually independent. Major role of utilizing Eigen-beamformer is to enforce channel parameters being uncorrelated. According to this, the proposed STBC combined with Eigen-beamformer on the downlink significantly improves its performance under the spatially correlated channel. Simulation results are accomplished under three distinct channels conditioned with varying the degree of their correlations. The result indicates that our proposed scheme is good performance in spatially correlated channel.

In this paper, we present a method to improve the performance of the four transmit antenna quasi-orthogonal space-time block code (STBC) in the coded system. For the four transmit antenna case, the quasi-orthogonal STBC consists of two symbol groups which are orthogonal to each other, but intra group symbols are not. In uncoded system with the matched filter detection, constellation rotation can improve the performance. However, in coded systems, its gain is absorbed by the coding gain especially for lower rate code. We propose an iterative decoding method to improve the performance of quasi-orthogonal codes in coded systems. With conventional quasi-orthogonal STBC detection, the joint ML detection can be improved by iterative processing between the demapper and the decoder. Simulation results shows that the performance improvement is about 2dB at 1% frame error rate.
