The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of space design of Isamu Noguchi's works barred on the stage sets and environmental designs. From the end of 19th century, space which was begun to be studied about in architects has continued to be researched by not only scientists but artists. Recently, space Is expressed in free and new forms due to diversity of societies and advancement of technology, As a result, space has become an essential part in art and is used in the titles of many art exhibitions. This study scrutinizes space in Isamu Noguchi's works. No other 20th century artist has as clear and progressive space conception as Noguchi's. His notion of modern art was modified through space in the tradition of cubism and Russian Constructivism and Bauhaus. Combined with his experience in the traditional Japanese houses and gardens, these influences led toward a broadened conception of sculpture as the creation of living space. These modernist's characteristics are found in his early expression of stage sets for choreographer Martha Graham, and they would lead to a wide range of design activities, from gardens and interiors to fountains and furniture. Isamu Noguchi had created a body of work that crossed the boundary between fine and applied art as a sculptor, and as an environmental designer.

The advancements of the society aggravate ecological problems, and it is at a point where our living environment is under a serious threat. To resolve such problems, environmental friendly design concepts are evolving through various naming conventions such as conservation of global environment, environmental symbiosis, friendly environmental, nature-friendly, environmental friendly type, green building and eco-construction. Accordingly, in this research, for the purposes of healthy living environmental construction, nature as the subject of its design and highly praised as a new design arena, floral art design theory and its functions, as well as its examples are explored. With the Information available, I was able to confirm that, in interior decorating, floral art design is used as a tool for expressing environmental friendly space, and gradually its necessity and the scope of its application have been broadened. Therefore, utilization of floral art design is to fabricate environmental friendly interior space; and it is expected as a substitute for accomplishing green amenity, and its study should continue for the years to come.

Algorithm-based architecture helps specifically dividing the environmental variables of a target space into individual factors to build object-oriented programming, classifying them into an individual object according to the environmental variables of each planning circumstance, and distributing each structure into small structures. In addition, each itemized matter of construction is set as a condition, and thus it is possible to respond to the space condition of various circumstances which occur in the architectural planning process. This study is intended for predicting that a sketch role in the design process can be replaced by a design method utilizing an algorithm, through the external solar radiation and the illuminance value of indoor lighting device among the environmental variables of a target space, and for seeking a way to create a design alternative and improve the design quality by using computer-based algorithm design.

The subject of this study is housing environmental design of single family housing in urban, which intends to study the way of enhancing the quality of our housing environment through comparative research and analysis in Cheong-ju & Tama. The elements of the environmental design were reviewed for forming of street, open space and park, housing utilities, and environmental facilities. The results are as follows: 1. The plans require informally related influential factor. 2. To make street in housing area as not traffic facilities but a space residents life. 3. In order to improve housing environment, We have to design the elements efficiently for comfort of life.

In Korea, the top priority of the exterior space in the urban commercial street has been put on the road and parking for cars, not on the street for pedestrians, because of the lack of institutional urban planning, the land use of high density, the pursuit of maximum commercial profit, etc. Also, it is true that the form and facade of the street buildings which form the characteristics of the commercial street are regarded as the consumption-stimulating tool and, subsequently, are symbolized for commercial profit. This study starts from the recognition of reality, and, with the perspective of general plan for urban exterior space, tries to improve the environmental design of street space. Also, this study searches the ways to enhance the cultural, art, aesthetic and functional values of a city, as well as the ways to promote commercial activities and to perform commercial symbolism and pedestrian functions. This study aims at exploring the importance of street environmental design and the information of environmental design, so that the problems of current street environment, which generates the disorder and chaos of information, may be solved. Also, this study aims at promoting the continuous development for the future street environmental design and design plan.

The change of modern society arouse the issue of the family structure and the demand of upbringing. According to the issue, the need of the upbringing is the big interest in society. This study is on the demand of the parents of students in eco-environmental space in child care center. The purpose of the study makes the suggestion the need of the eco-environmental space in child care center. The study progressed with looking up and giving questionaires in six child care centers which have eco-environmental space in Seoul. 210 questionaires were given out to parents and taken away 180 questionaires. The result of the study, parents required strongly to have the eco-environmental space in child care center. The natural interior materials, nature experimental outdoor ground and exterior garden were preferred overriding. The use of the woods and stones and eco-environmental adhesives are required as the natural Interior materials. And the natural light source can be imported in sky light, side window and atrium. Upcoming study would be directed in child care center without eco-environmental spaces. The next suggestion would be made in the needs of the eco-environmental space in child care center.

Environmental matters are one of key issues of today's world. At this point, advanced countries are proposing and planning various kinds of policies for sustainable communities. Space designers in those countries are more concerned with regeneration or slow development than development and innovation. As the new government of Korea was started in 2008, it announced 'design Korea project' as key agenda for national competitiveness. But it seems that they are focusing on development of new town than the concept of preservation or regeneration on which most advanced countries put their bases. In these regards, this research starts with the idea that environmental factor in space design is very important and it is directly connected with human survival. With this idea, the researching team created experimental space titled 'regeneration' as one of eco-friendly education program. The team aimed at building up or 'designing one man space-one to one ratio' in deserted place with recycled stuffs. With the idea of 'regeneration' in space, the researcher aims at awakening the sense of environment and putting it into practice in daily living.

The ecological theory of perception provides the human living, and meaning integrating norm to overcome the crisis caused by an eastern belief in human-centered wrong rationality formed at the past process of modernization. Prior to the overall consideration of ecological perception theory, looked into the concepts, contribution extent and its limitation of the existing perception theories for the environmental design. By experimentally applying inferred concepts of design to department bridge space and forming the space, certified the applicability of it to the green amenity space. The site Is located in Nowon- Gu Sangge- Dong. The design was processed on the basis of survey, plants growth environment and plants characters. It is expected that this design would serve the commercial space- consumer as a symbolic, environmentally friendly space design

Ever since the industrial revolution, large cities have become a field of new lifestyle and urbanization, causing climate change and environmental pollution. As a result, countermeasures for revolving these problems is needed. In addition, large cities in the information age have become a space where each nation executes its public policy to express the competitiveness of each city. In this study, countermeasures for the environmental crises caused by urbanization as well as the sustainable spatial designs for the cities are investigated as a new source of urban competitiveness, and the environmental aesthetics for designing public space is considered. The purpose of this study is to suggest a direction for sustainable designs and planning that is applicable to public space. According to the definition of sustainability, the items of the spatial implementation of ecological, economical and social sustainability are categorized. Based on this categorization, the sustainable designs of public space are classified into five types, and a comprehensive analysis of good public spaces from previous literature is conducted. The concepts of design and three elements--public space, sustainability, and their instrumental meanings, are integrated in this study. The significance of this study lies in the actual application of the classification to the planning and design of sustainable public space in cities, rather than being a conceptual classification.

Built-up environments by humans are cultural byproducts which combine social ideology and architectural paradigm. The process of modernization in the Western countries has the characteristic of decisive paradgm based on materialism. Therefore, environmental design in modern world failed to focus on the essential features of humanity which are the subject of space and replaced it for objective and unilateral architectural environments, instead. Environment without supporting the human psychological and complicated behaviorism is as same as the hardware without the vitality. under these regards, this study will cover the design approach of pattern language as a design method of environment design. The purpose of design approach by pattern language lies in creating the space of flexibility, adaptability and strong vitality. It is summed up as humanization in space and it helps the user to verbalize individualized space language for their own. The range and method of in the study attribute to the pattern language of Christopher Alexander and a researcher' method on them. In premise that human behavior ought to the multilateral and indefinite under rapid change of circumstances in modern world, th study tried to find the design method stimulating creative behavior of human being.
