The purpose of this research is to analyze the publicity of the private open space of high-rise office buildings in seoul. The contents of this research consist of two main parts. The first part is to classify the personal behavior's characteristics and to investigate the user's satisfaction of the publicity in the private open space through the case study of samples in seoul. The second part is to analyze the correlations between the personal behavior's characteristics and the user's satisfaction of the publicity in the private open space of high-rise office buildings. In conclusion, this research will contribute to establish the planning methods of the private open space of high-rise office buildings and to promote the quality of urban residential environment in Korea.

The features of the cultural phenomenon, 'Hybrid Culture,' can be analyzed through the concept of 'Meme,' the cultural gene continuously evolves. The architectural meme also has an effect as the cultural symbol on a space. It can be the solution to the urban problems, lack of contextualization caused by reckless development. Therefore, this study aims to examine the characteristics of the sustainable and effective renewal space by applying the concept of Meme. Theoretical analysis, characteristics of expression, and case study are conducted to analyze the Meme features of the renewal space. Particularly, this study focuses on the Meme features appeared in the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in German. The results obtained from this study is as written below. First, Meme renewal space is a design that can solve the contextual deficiency of architecture through the cultural renewal. Second, the true renewal space has the characteristics of meme space that organically changes as if an organism. Third, it is possible to conduct a detailed analysis on the organic characteristics according to the evolving phases-Mimesis, Memeplex, and Metameme. Fourth, the true meaning of sustainable renewal space is the Meme space encompasses the scope of urban. Lastly, the Meme space has a circulation system that each evolving phase, and new and old continuously exchange feedbacks.

This study aims at providing suitable outdoor spaces for physical, social, and psychological condition of Korea elderly, examining design characteristics and presenting design guideline of outdoor space for elderly. To do this, this study examined previous research papers and scholastic writings, related to elderly housing, and analyzed existing outdoor space for elderly. Additionally evaluation of usage pattern and physical trace carried out four silver towns. As a result, first, the study showd that characteristics of outdoor space are related to safety, amenity, recognition and efficiency. Second, types of outdoor space in elderly related facilities are very limited in verity, just facilitating with rest space, sport space, and garden space. Third, from a standpoint of barrier-free-design, four silver town cases are not carefully concerning about outdoor space for elderly. These spaces should be designed for both neighborhood and elderly people.

This study is to a question in argument that existing theses about a trait spatial configuration of exhibition space were analyzed without appropriateness verification of analysis characteristics. Firstly, through theoretical studies of established thesis, validity twenty analysis characteristics was chosen by making an investigation into existing analysis characteristics. Secondly, through a subject of our investigation, forty-two exhibition space of nineteen museums and art museum at home and abroad, a distribution map of exhibition space was analyzed by multivariate analysis. As a result of this study : 1) Nine analysis characteristics which extracted through multivariate analysis was the principal analysis characteristics. 2) A scale was important characteristic for the classification of museum therefore a degree of space perception was ought to compare every one of similar scale museum. 3) When comparing a trait of spatial configuration at exhibition space, these characteristics came into effect on middle sized museums. 4) It was visually confirmed a trait of spatial configuration of each group between museum and art museum

The purpose of this study is to attempt to interpret golf courses as event-generating spaces with consideration given to the time factor. Through a golf game, a variety of events such as the tee shot, second shot, putt, and hole out are generated. These events have been connected to a series of events after hole out such as birdie, par, bogey and so on. The series of events do not always occur in the same way. They reveal unexpected changes over time. These unexpected changes cause changes in the spatial characteristics and offer unforgettable memories for golfers. Gilles Deleuze mentioned the spatial characteristics as striated space and smooth space. Striated space can be defined as sedentary space. It is distant vision-optical space that has dimensional, metric and centered characteristics, whereas smooth space is defined as nomadic, close vision-haptic space that has directional and acentered characteristics. This study focused on the analysis of spatial characteristics according to striated space and smooth space. Golf courses generally show the characteristics of striated space before beginning the game. As soon as the game begins, however, the golf courses are converted into an event-generating space. The characteristics of striated space are transformed into smooth space, a nomadic space that amplifies the dynamic, changeable, de-scaled and non-metric system. Through the whole game, this transformation is dramatically repeated. On the other hand, the golfer, the subject of the game, senses the phenomenological experience in the process of orientation, center, definition, and domestication.

According to the change in diverse tendency of residents, construction companies has developed the brands of apartments with the concepts of LOHAS, well-being, ubiquitous, etc. The purpose of this study was to suggest space requirement and planning for residents characteristics. The questionnaire survey was adopted in this study and 252 cases were used for data analysis. The survey analysis has been made by using of SPSS WIN 12.0. The major findings were as follows; (1) Resident opinion about the direction of each space was investigated into the need of South-facing in master bedroom highly. (2) The residents didn't want to decrease the current size of each space, the space which wanted to increase was livingroom. (3) The significant variables of space requirement and planning for residents characteristics were family life cycle, the age of householder, the occupation of householder, the size of apartment.

The revolution of new media has overthrown the existing social structure and brought about the changes in the concepts of the space and subject. These changes are identical to the existential issue of the space and subject and to fundamental issue of spatial design. This study will interpret the new media in view of ontology and analyze the characteristics by applying it to spatial design. In this study, the characteristics of new media of ontological viewpoint were divided into six categories containing the process space, the space of exterior meaning, the space of the affairs, interactive subject, playful subject and extension of sense, which were the basis for this analysis. The results showed that the expression characteristics of spatial concept of ontology and subject concepts revealed in the areas of architectural surface, the space of art and installation, and architectural design process.

The purpose of this study is analysing the characteristics of interior space aiming for the exterior space in mixed-used development. The range of this study is limited as passage, department store, shoppingmall and Mixed Use Development. The method of this study is as follows. First, analysing the 7 samples of the interior space aiming for the exterior space in MXD through the framework of public character categorized as 5 factors, accessibility, openness, comfort properties, connectivity, convenience in use. Second, drawing a conclusion from the precedent step. The result of this study is as follows. First, the interior space has become bigger with time. And the public character is expanded with having the same structure of the city space. Second, the interior space solves the problem of the exterior space of city but prefers the same factors with the exterior space. Third, the street in the interior space has the characteristics of openness and comfort properties through diversification. And the open space is planned in various parts of the MXD and has the character of accessibility and connectivity.

This paper reviews legal framework, characteristics and main contents of the 'Optional Rules for the Arbitration of Disputes Relating to Outer Space Activity' enacted by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in 2011. Space activities, which began in the 1950s, are undergoing significant changes according to the international characteristics and development of science and technology. New Space and the space business will be the key factors driving these changes. However, the diversity of disputes caused by New Space space activities and the characteristics of each type of dispute must be considered together. This is because the space business can be maintained and developed by securing the effectiveness of dispute resolution. This paper identifies that the PCA Space Dispute Arbitration Rules have important legislative and policy significance in this respect. Specifically, in this paper, the international space law system, the draft convention of the International Law Association, and the PCA arbitration rules were introduced in an overview of the international dispute settlement system related to space activities. Afterwards, it examines that the systematic structure and some major contents of the PCA Space Dispute Arbitration Rules in detail. Based on this, the paper suggests some points of application of the PCA Arbitration Rules and the legislative policy implications.

This study aims to research the characteristics of space composition and location for the rural community center. The phenomenon of urban areas from rural areas by the dismantlement of the community is being increasingly deepened. The current village welfare center in the rural villages of the dismantlement phenomenon of the community in rural areas can not be solved alone. The location of the Community Center in rural villages for the interaction of existing local inhabitants and should be located where possible near existing villages. This thesis studies and analyzes the characteristics of rural villages in the rural new town project districts. The basic function of the community center space analysis model is the Public service space, the Communication space, the Health space, the Amenity space, the Education space(including the childcare). This study analyze the local characterristics, the location type and the floor plan characteristics about the Community Center in rural villages by the rural new town example project.
