This study introduces the current status of the design for safety(DfS) introduced as one of the owner - centered construction site safety management plan, and presents the problems and the improvement plan. The design for safety has been shifting from the construction management-oriented safety management to the owner-centered safety management system, The owner has to make the design considering the safety from the design stage centered on the owner. The owner has to review and approve the adequacy of the safety-conscious design and The risk factors that can not be eliminated during design are the system to prevent the disaster at the construction site by planning to eliminate the risk factor when writing the safety management plan that is made at the construction stage. The design for safety system implemented from May 2016 will be further developed to prevent the risk of safety accidents that may occur in construction sites, contributing greatly to the reduction of construction accident. In addition, it suggests ways to develop more efficient and convenient system through continuous hazard finding and system improvement.

Shading and soil environment are the main factors of growth and yield in ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer). Ginseng yield is directly related to survival rate because of increased missing plant for their growing period. Under field conditions, diseases and pests significantly affect plant survival rate. We evaluated the seedling establishment, growth and ginsenoside of the ginseng plants, under controlled management conditions in a plastic greenhouse, when their treated with different types of organic matter. Ginseng seeds were sown at a rate of three seeds per hole, and the seeding space measured $10cm{\times}15cm$. Compared to the control, treatment of cattle manure vermicompost (CMV) was shown to increase seedling establishment and decrease ginsenoside content. Root weights of plants treated with CMV were higher than those of plants treated with other types of organic matter. In addition, seedling establishment of 2-year-old ginseng plants was decreased when it was compared to that of 1-year-old ginseng plants. Our results indicated that organic matter type and rate were associated with seedling establishment, growth characteristic and ginsenoside content in greenhouse of ginseng direct-sowing culture.
The purpose of this study is to analyze characteristics and expression methods of contemporary art museums from the perspective of 'Rhizome', which is considered under similar context as 'indeterminacy' that represents the characteristics of contemporary public spaces. Methods of this study are as follows. First, necessity of this study is verified by investigating literature data and preceding studies, and by examining the fact that indeterminate characteristic is a new approach to contemporary public spaces. Second, in order to analyze Rhizomic expression in public spaces, analysis criteria are suggested by extracting components of public spaces and spatial characteristics of R150hizome from the literature. Third, Rhizomic characteristics and expression methods used in contemporary art museums are understood based on such analysis criteria. Fourth, when each spatial characteristic is expressed in art museums, the study found out that two factors among 'program', 'circulation', and 'form' are planned out as a mixture. Therefore, 'cohesion' is expressed as 'program' and 'form' in contemporary public spaces viewed from the perspective of 'Rhizome'. Also, 'diversity' is actively expressed through 'program' and 'circulation', and 'non-hierarchy' through 'form' and 'circulation'. Such methods are positive methods of expressing indeterminate contemporary public spaces. Since this study conducted analysis on characteristics and expression methods of public spaces from Rhizomic perspective of contemporary society, such results are deemed valuable in planning out public spaces that reflect the characteristics of contemporary society.
Weeks who is an architect in England suggest that let us consider the hospital architecture as not determined architecture but an undetermined architecture. Because it has been changing unexpectedly. The changing process of hospital architecture is required that it has to involve the new function and be a role model because of variations of environmental factors. For silving the requirements above mentioned, hospital architecture takes the way of appropriateness inner origin form and finally it considers new formation. The 53% of hospital buildings in Korea were built in 1980s. For 30years, these buildings have been not only extended a buildings but also changed in parts of functions and sizes on buildings which are original. The purpose of this study is producing the basic references which suggest solution to face on the changing of hospital building during planning it in the future using by analysis of variation inside the hospital building and grasping of characters in each departments. Each department is analyzed as follows. There is no inner change but only expansion partly by enlargement of building. In the outpatient, there is not only expansion by enlargement of building and but also extension toward other parts and the rate of variation of inside is high. In the diagnostic treatment, there are differences in diagnostic treatment. Surgical suit and diagnostic imaging have been expanded by enlargement than the change of inside. But the others of the departments have been changed by change of inside and also there are sometimes changes of inner walls.

This paper presents results from analysis of architectural plan drawings of 355 elementary schools recently designed for 4 years. Theses plans are analyzed by factors such as local distribution, number of classes, type of plan, total construction area, area per a class, area per a student, and area status of each space. The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental resources for architectural designing and planning of elementary schools through finding trend and status of elementary school buildings that have no detailed data of area index. The results of this study are as follows: 1. As a result from analyzing number of classes in the surveyed schools, schools having 36 classes are dominant and schools having 72 classes are also shown. Average number of classes is 34.1. This result reflect s that elementary schools have been planned as large-scale schools. 2. In terms of type of plan, we found out that instead of disappearing traditional single corridor type building, the open school building that have multi-purpose spaces are mainly designed. In addition to that, there are few schools with large class rooms. 3. In the status of area of each school, they have much larger areas than areas provided by building guidelines. Secondly, there are some schools with two times area difference even though they have same class number. Therefore, it needs to adjust the school building guidelines to practical needs in the consideration of elementary school building for compulsory education. Though the plans of recently designed school for 4 year s are more differentiated than past, there are few schools planned by appropriate plan design and area distribution scheme. As a consequence, some improvements like improvement of building guidelines are desperate.

To interpret the climate projections for the future as well as present, recognition of the consequences of the climate internal variability and quantification its uncertainty play a vital role. The Korean Peninsula belongs to the Far East Asian Monsoon region and its rainfall characteristics are very complex from time and space perspective. Its internal variability is expected to be large, but this variability has not been completely investigated to date especially using models of high temporal resolutions. Due to coarse spatial and temporal resolutions of General Circulation Models (GCM) projections, several studies adopted dynamic and statistical downscaling approaches to infer meterological forcing from climate change projections at local spatial scales and fine temporal resolutions. In this study, stochastic downscaling methodology was adopted to downscale daily GCM resolutions to hourly time scale using an hourly weather generator, the Advanced WEather GENerator (AWE-GEN). After extracting factors of change from the GCM realizations, these were applied to the climatic statistics inferred from historical observations to re-evaluate parameters of the weather generator. The re-parameterized generator yields hourly time series which can be considered to be representative of future climate conditions. Further, 30 ensemble members of hourly precipitation were generated for each selected station to quantify uncertainty. Spatial map was generated to visualize as separated zones formed through K-means cluster algorithm which region is more inconsistent as compared to the climatological norm or in which region the probability of occurrence of the extremes event is high. The results showed that the stations located near the coastal regions are more uncertain as compared to inland regions. Such information will be ultimately helpful for planning future adaptation and mitigation measures against extreme events.

This study analyzed users' acceptance and intention to use in addition to needs and preferences of smart home technologies, and identified the differences in technology preference and acceptance by different factors. The subjects were residents in the 40s and 60s residing in the Seoul or suburbs of Seoul, and questionnaires were conducted in the 40s while interviews with questionnaires were conducted in the 60s. A total of 105 questionnaires were used as data, and frequency, mean, crossover, independent sample t test, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were performaed using SPSS23. The results of this study are as follows. First, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and hypercholesterolemia were the most common diseases among respondents and if there was no discomfort, they would like to continue living in the homes of the current residence. Therefore, the direction of smart home development should support the daily living and health care so that residents can live a healthy life for a long time in their living space. Second, the technologies that residents most need were a control technology of residential environments and a monitoring technology of residents' health and physiological changes. The most preferred sensor types are motion sensors and speech recognition while video cameras have a very low preference. Third, technology anxiety was the most significant factor influencing intention to accept smart home technology. The greater the technology anxiety is, the weaker the acceptance of technology. Fourth, when applying smart residential technology in homes, various resident characteristics should be considered. Age and technology intimacy were the most influential variables, and accordingly there were differences in technology preference and acceptance. Therefore, a user-friendly smart home plan should be done in the consideration of the results.

Although the number of child loss in commercial facilities has been growing recently, the prevention method for child loss are still lacking in the environmental aspect. This research examines the causes of lost child in behavioral aspects in order to develop a guideline to prevent child loss in U.E.C. The observational study on the behaviors of guardians and children was conducted in the U.E.C that is visited by many customers accompanied with children. Then the results of the observational study were marked on the behavioral maps. After analyzing the behavioral maps, the causes of child loss were determined by classifying into behaviors by age and behaviors by functional space. As a result, when guardian is unable to pay attention to child by doing something else such as making a purchase, or an inquiry, child may lose guardian by going towards the interesting factors or playing around. Moreover, if the spaces related to children are located at the node with high pedestrian density and open structure or the environment that is hard for the guardians to watch over their children, it will be easy for guardians to be inattentive to their children, and get separated from each other.

The purpose of this study was to identify the status of adolescents' user satisfaction with the 22 libraries of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and to improve the quality of information services for adolescents by improving the factors of dissatisfaction, and ultimately, to activate the use of young adults in the libraries of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. In addition, in the transition to the digital age, it was attempted to investigate the use of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Digital Library in the context of the inevitable change of reading media. Through this, this study suggested planning a reading program that could arouse adolescents' interest and reflect new information technologies, improving the scope and system of e-book services, linking with school libraries, and restructuring library' space.
Recently, rapidly increasing internet Websites are providing us with the new kinds of multimedia informations without borders acting as the center for exchanging informations. Such new media informations through the internet passes informations via light on the monitor and provides the various informations, with the differentiation from the traditional printing media, it can be searched with electronic commands in limited space. In the process of adapting the new technologies, new media has successfully responded to the fast change and the development of its needs by experiencing the trials and errors, steadily establishing the stable position with its new information transferring and exchanging methods. The representative hompage of websites of information transformations means the first page containing no lower directories and consist of titles, icons, symbols and addresses and can design them in consideration of graphical process, planning, contents and others. Such hompages are very important since the graphical images shows its visual expressions deciding the total meanings of the hompages. In this research, we have analyzed the visual factors of frequencies, ratio of areas, distributions, alignment methodologies on layouts of hompages consisting titles, icons, contents and symbols, etc. from randomly picked samples of 161 hompages of websites in the internets of various areas. Generally, the homepages are designed with graphical expressions in personal way and the feedbacks and responses of such may differs, but we think, this can be used as reference materials for the analysis of new media in objective way. Also, it can be used as the base informations for arrangement and planning of designs with the characteristics of graphics and Graphic User Interfaces in the background which are implemented over internet.
