Tracking the location of patients in medical facilities is important to guarantee the patients' safety and to improve the service quality. Previous studies related to location tracking systems based on Bluetooth communication need numerous prerequisite information and multiple devices to improve the accuracy. In this paper, we propose a beacon-based space partition scheme that assigns different arrangement patterns of beacons to different spaces and composes groups with the similar value of RSSI to minimize prerequisite information and the number of beacons. The proposed scheme considers a pattern arrangement scheme to minimize intereference between neighbor patterns. We also verified the applicability of our scheme to monitor the patient location by using experimental results.

In order to optimize fuzzy modeling of nonlinear system, we proposed a optimal fuzzy model according to the characteristic of I/O relationship, HCM method, the genetic algorithm, and the objective function with weighting factor. A conventional fuzzy model has difficulty in definition of membership function. In order to solve its problem, the premise structure of the proposed fuzzy model is selected by both the partition of input space and the analysis of input-output relationship using the clustering algorithm. The premise parameters of the fuzzy model are optimized respectively by the genetic algorithm and the consequence parameters of the fuzzy model are identified by the standard least square method. Also, the objective function with weighting factor is proposed to achieve a balance between the performance results for the training and testing data.

We proposed the RPA (Recursive Partition Averaging) method in order to improve the storage requirement and classification rate of the Memory Based Reasoning. This algorithm recursively partitions the pattern space until each hyperrectangle contains only those patterns of the same class, then it computes the average values of patterns in each hyperrectangle to extract a representative. Also we have used the mutual information between the features and classes as weights for features to improve the classification performance. The proposed algorithm used 30~90% of memory space that is needed in the k-NN (k-Nearest Neighbors) classifier, and showed a comparable classification performance to the k-NN. Also, by reducing the number of stored patterns, it showed an excellent result in terms of classification time when we compare it to the k-NN.
This study analyzed the attention concentration tendencies of one(1) subject who showed convergent exploratory acts actively through the gaze-brainwave measurement experiment of cafe space images and our research findings are as follows. First, the areas of interest (AOIs) that the subject gazed visually by paying attention to it and concentrating on it at a cafe space include counter&menu area, sign area, partition area, image wall area, stairs area, and movable furniture area, and built-in furniture area: seven areas in total. Second, conscious gaze frequency appeared the highest in counter&menu area, and conscious gaze appeared more later than in initial times. Third, conscious gaze pattern was divided into the zone that explored various areas dispersely (distributed exploratory zone) and the zone that explored between particular areas concentratedly (intensive exploratory zone). Fourth, as a result of analyzing the brainwave attention concentration, it was found that the attention concentration in prefrontal lobe (Fp1, Fp2) and frontal lobe (F3, F4) rose to a higher level in the zone of 15 to 16 seconds and this time zone was considered to be a zone where gazing at counter&menu area was very active. In addition, the attention concentration appeared higher in the initial zone than in the later zone, among the entire experimental time zones. Finally, as a result of analyzing the changes in activation by brain portion of the SMR wave expressed when maintaining the arousal and attention concentration, it was found that the right prefrontal lobe and the frontal lobe became activated in the time zone when the intensive exploration of "counter&menu area" and "movable furniture${\leftrightarrow}$built-in furniture area" had occurred and the time zone when the intensive exploration of "image wall${\leftrightarrow}$partition area" and "counter&menu${\leftrightarrow}$sign area" had occurred.

This study attempts to examine and to analyze the characteristics of transparent materials and its methods to apply in space. the ability to see through a physical element, whether it is clear glass, sandblasted acrylic, or a delicate fabric, can have a dramatic and sensory effect on the overall perception of a space. The various range of Transparent materials and product in glass, plastic, fabric, and grid now gives us the potential to maximize the flow of light in our enclosed space. This research will explore how transparent, translucent, and semi-opaque elements can be used within the interior with full range of see-through materials. The transparent materials can be divided in two level - as structural elements and as stylish accessories. A glass partition or floor, metal mesh stairs can create divisions or link one space to another while maintaining effective levels of natural light. there is also various level of products from glass chair to basin. With the enthusiasm for using transparent materials, transparent materials will be more decorative and powerful application while still maximize the highest possible flow of light.
The objective of this paper is to introduce the noise reduction characteristics of a double gap system, which is composed of two air-gaps and two partition sheets. The resonance of acoustic modes of an enclosed cavity can be effectively suppressed by installing the double gap system in the cavity. It is revealed from a simple, one-dimensional model that the double gap system is more effective than the single gap system that consists of one air-gap and one partition sheet, in that the former requires a smaller space than the latter. Finally, these theoretical conclusions are verified by comparison experiments using an actually manufactured enclosed cavity, of which the boundary surfaces are made of thick panels that can be assumed as rigid walls.

In the paper, the noise reduction characteristics of a double-gap resonator, which is installed inside an enclosed cavity and is composed of two air-gaps and two partition sheets, are introduced by theoretical analyses and experimets. Analysis for a simple, theoretical model reveals that the double-gap resonator is more effective than the single-gap resonator that consists of an air-gap and a partition sheet, in that the former requires a smaller space than the latter. Furthermore, this theoretical conclusion is verified by comparison experiments using an actually manufactured enclosed cavity, of which the boundary surfaces are made of thick, stiff panels that can be assumed as rigid walls.

Classification tree algorithms including as CART by Brieman et al.(1984) in some aspects, recursively partition the data space with the aim of making the distribution of the class variable as pure as within each partition and consist of several steps. SUPPORT(smoothed and unsmoothed piecewise-polynomial regression trees) method of Chaudhuri et al(1994), a weighted averaging technique is used to combine piecewise polynomial fits into a smooth one. We focus on applying SUPPORT to a binary class variable. Logistic model is considered in the caculation techniques and the results are shown good classification rates compared with other methods as CART, QUEST, and CHAID.
Recently, as people have more interest in health, and some change takes place in their lifestyles, a demand for environment-friendly residential space is also increasing. Research on the introduction of natural elements is mostly conducted for humans to pursue a more pleasant and comfortable life in residential space since it has one of the closest relation with humans. Therefore, it is such an important assignment at present when environmental problems are considered significant. Based on such a necessity, this study analyzed the introduction types and characteristics of natural elements in residential space by considering essential and psychological aspects more than previous researches on residential space with practical and functional aspects. As natural elements, this study put limits on plants and water that are used a lot in the interior space, and by dividing introduction types into recomposition of courtyard space, spatial partition and decorative elements, this study carried out a case analysis of residential space structures recently completed in Japan. As a basic research on space planning that is desperately required by change in the residential life paradigm and on the basis of understanding about nature, it is expected that the results of this study will be used as design basic data useful when establishing plans of introducing natural elements for residential space in the future.
