Green space infrastructures for three cities, Gwacheon, Uiwang, and Hanam, were analyzed in terms of the area of urban parks per capita, the percentage of green space area, the area of green space per capita, and the percentage of vegetation cover in residential area, etc., which are commonly used as criteria for urban green space planning. The differences in green space infrastructure among these three cities were compared to the satisfaction level of residents for their green space. The area of parks per capita corresponded to the satisfaction level when Seoul Great Park in Gwacheon and Misa Park in Hanam were not included. Although these two huge parks accounted more than 90% of the area of urban parks in Gwacheon and Hanam, they serve more people from outside the cities and not likely visited by residents due to lacking of daily accessibility. The percentage of vegetation cover in residential area were considered to affect the satisfaction of residents for green space, whereas the total area of green space or the percentage of green space area in the cities was not related to the satisfaction level. It suggests that the distributions and accessibilities of green space and park service are more important for satisfaction than total green space area indicating urban sustainability.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to look into the change of area and space organization percentage of wards in main general hospitals in Busan and Gyeongnam. Method : Patient area, nursing area, service area, training area, common area were classified for functional space organization. Patient area was reclassified to bedroom and comfort area, and common area was reclassified into vertical circulation, horizontal circulation and facility area. Also, method of area calculation was chosen standard to wall center-lines following building act 911 and functional space area of each hospital was estimated and comparatively analyzed. Result : For hospitals completed before 2000, area ratio by functional space for patient area, nursing area, service area and common area showed 53.6%, 10.2%, 0.8%, and 35.3% respectively. For hospitals completed after 2000, area ratio by functional space for patient area, nursing area, service space, and common area showed 49.2%, 12.6%, 1.1%, and 37.2% respectively. Implications : Through this study, change of percentage of space organization of main general hospitals in Busan Gyeongnam can be understood. Also because most studies on area organization of general hospital wards were focused on the capital area, this study provides basic material for future studies related to area of general hospital wards in Busan Gyeongnam.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual conditions of external space of middle and high schools in Gyeongnam Area. This article discuses about the characteristics of the external space and the site plan type of 49 middle and high schools in Gyeongnam Area. The result of analysis about site plan type, composition state of external space and area ratio of its composition of each middle and high school facilities are as follows: In facilities arrangement of middle and high schools, it shows diverse forms of arrangement from existing uniform straight type, however, most of schools do not being against the simple in their external space. Especially, for the area is small in the composition of external space, a playground is only under $50m{\times}80m$ and outdoor learning space or resting space is not secured sufficiently. Therefore, it requires an expansion of space size and facilities for the change of school life outside class.
Nursing Homes do not have a defined standard in the space area nor does it have a detailed standard facility requirement by law. This can possibly lead to the deterioration of the facility and the system. This directly affects the medical treatment space area within the nursing home. The medical treatment area provides medical treatment to seniors and this is where the seniors get most of their daily services. Therefore, this is research is about the study of the space area of the medical center and the ratio trend of the space area for the medical treatment facility located in senior nursing homes. Ten facilities have been selected in this study to analyze the correlation factors between space area and its trends. The analysis performed includes the conditions relating to the area and what affects the center. We have followed up with a proposal for improvement of the facility and area configuration for the medical treatment facility. Based on the analysis, the following conclusion can be made: First, the senior welfare centers are mostly used as a residence purpose followed a temporary stay of residence facility for the seniors. Second, research indicates that the bigger the facility, nursing and public functions took a larger portion of the space area compared to other services within the senior welfare centers. Third, the study shows the management space area took up about 1%~6% of the entire medical center within the nursing home which is a narrow space area because of the integrated management. Fourth, analysis based on the trend in the time-series indicate after the adoption of the system, there is a continued decline in the space area of nursing, management and public areas. Lastly, since before and after 2008, the space area composition of the nursing facility shows a continuous decline in our study. We can safely conclude that the revised senior welfare act's construction plan has an effect in the facility and is effectively working to meet its requirement. Therefore, the revision of the law is required to reflect the social needs of the residents.

This study analyzes the common space of the high schools before and after the decade of 2009 which starts Subject-centered clusters school plan, and proposes the direction of common space planning for the future. Based on the floor plans of high schools awarded as excellent school facilities every year, first, types and numbers of common space, second, area ratio between common space and program space and also moving space and staying space, third, space connections were analyzed for tracking the change of the relationship between common, staying and program spaces. The study results demonstrated that types, numbers and area ratio of the common space were increased as the years go on. Especially, the area ratio of staying space was dramatically increased after 2009 and this result was caused by the home-base, alcove space, and hall that were adopted for subject-centered clusters planning after 2009. Connecting diagram of staying area and program spaces also shows the spaces related to staying area were changed from a classrooms and administrative office etc. to a library, gym, and seminar rooms etc. In case of staying area, it would have a value as a common space for various student activities such as group activities, meetings, and multi-uses. Because student activities would be changed and encouraged depending on the location, sizes and program spaces around staying area, it should be emphasized that the planning for staying area is critical for future school design.

A study was performed to investigate the size of tongue area and intermaxillary space area, and compare the sexual differences between normal Korean children and adults by introducing planimetric and linear analysis of the lateral cephalograms. The cephalograms were composed of 41 child male aged 10.8, 40 child female aged 10.5, 38 adult male aged 21.3 and 40 adult female aged 20.8 respectively. In order to study and measure the intermaxillary space area, the followings were selected, as reference items: occlusal plane, anterior intermaxillary space height, posterior intermaxillary space height, length of intermaxillary space. Among those reference items anterior intermaxillary space height and posterior intermaxillary space height were perpendicular to the maxillary plane. An. index, (equation omitted) While the tongue area was plotted by outline of tongue shadow, above a line extending from the vallecula to the most anterior point on the hyoid body, and above a line from the most anterior point of the hyoid body to the menton. The obtained results were as follows: 1. In general the measurements of male were larger than those of female in intermaxillary space area in childhood and adulthood group. but intermaxillary space area of childhood group showed no significant sexual difference, and that of adulthood group showed significant sexual difference when evaluated statistically. 2. In both groups the measurements of male were larger than those of female in tongue area and there are also statistical significance of sexual differences in both age groups. 3. Considerable growh changes between the childhood and adulthood groups were revealed in intermaxillary space area and tongue area, and the tongue had tendency to become relatively smaller when compared with the intermaxillary space in both sex.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial transformational patterns according to the spectator and the exhibition environment and to examine the role of 'the middle space' organically linking the exhibition space with MoA which is a representative example of 'sequential exhibition space'. The concept of sequential exhibition space in MoA is applied not only to building but also to extended continental concepts including neighborhood. MoA's exhibition space consists of the library area and the exhibition area. In particular, the spaces of library area perform a complex function as a quasi-exhibition space, and the exhibition spaces have variable spatial transformation through an associated structure of the library area and the educational area. The types of exhibition space those constitute the sequential exhibition space of MoA appear as 'Room type', 'Free plan type', and 'Gallery type'. Each exhibition space maintains independence, but it is changed according to the situation of exhibition. The flow is based on the spiral induction around the central void space, but with selective circulation considering the visitors. Therefore, through the transformation of the exhibition area and the division of the flow, the whole museum space appears as the area differentiation.
This study measured speech intelligibility in relation to the vowel space area and the perception of the listener through acoustic analysis of children who had received cochlear implants. It also provided basic data in the evaluation of speech intelligibility by analyzing the correlation between the vowel space area and speech intelligibility. As a research method, the vowel space area was analyzed by obtaining the value of $F_1$, $F_2$ in children three years after receiving cochlear implants, and compared them to normal children by measuring speech intelligibility through interval scaling. A product-moment correlation analysis was conducted to investigate the correlation. Results showed that the vowel space area of the children who had received cochlear implants was significantly different from that of the normal children, though their speech intelligibility showed similar points to those of the normal children. The results of the correlation analysis on the vowel space area and speech intelligibility showed no significant correlation. Therefore, the period of improving intelligibility after receiving cochlear implants and the objective standards of the vowel space area could be established. In addition, the acoustic rating was required to increase the accuracy of the objective measurement in the evaluation of speech intelligibility.
In case of commercial area of underground commercial area that occupy large amount of space among underground space, the lighting plays a very important role in terms of user's psychological and physiological side. The purpose of this research is to suggest the direction of lighting design of underground commercial area for revitalization of urban function. Spacial scope of this research were adjusted as 8 underground commercial area in Seoul. Scope of content of this research is about lighting plan of underground commercial area. Research methods are as follows: First, we identified the psychological and physiological problem of the underground space which appears in preceding research and the literature. In order to make the design element which is necessary to an underground space it executed this research method. By this research method we made the design element which is necessary to an underground space. Second, Through site visits, illumination level and lighting plans were studied by each category. Third, we presented the direction of illumination plan of each space in underground commercial area We could conclude a conclusion as following through this research. First, lighting plan of underground commercial area should solve user's psychological, physiological problems and should take advantage of the traits of each space. Second, the usage of space of underground commercial area changes as time pass, a lighting plan is needed in order to cope with this. Third, a lighting plan is needed for user's rest within underground commercial area. Fourth, detailed lighting plan is needed for space users of underground commercial area.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the outdoor space of the recent built apartment complex in Ulsan and to provide the basic information for planning and apartment outdoor space. Multiple methods were utilized such as questionnaire, observation, behavior-mapping, and photography. The sample consisted of 382 residents living in four apartment complex in Ulsan. data were analyzed by frequency and percentage using SPSS PC+. The observation was performed in seven outdoor space, i.e., green area, road area, exercise area, play area, parking area, and approach area. According to the findings of this study, residents did not actively involve in outdoor activities and seldom use the outdoor space. Various changes and erosions were observed as a trace, especially near fence and grass area because of unplanned location of entrances. Finally this study suggested several planning guidelines for outdoor space in apartment complex.
