유엔스튜디오 업무시설 외피 패널의 형태적 특성 분석 (An Analysis of Façade Panel Characteristics of UN Studio's Office Projects)

  • The façade, a fundamental function as a skin that protects human life from external environment such as cold and hot weather, snow, rain, and wind, etc, has served as a media for communication between indoor space of the building and outside space. From the media for communication point of view, the approach to envelope design, in which environmental elements are transmitted internally through the filtering of external environments, has been evolving in various ways from the past to the present. Today, modern architecture technologies including curtain wall systems and user-friendly computer programming and environmental analysis programs demonstrate a differentiated approach to envelope design related to the indoor environment. For this reason, it is worth noting that the envelope design factors and trends that appear variously in the UNStudio's projects before and after the 2000s. The factors reflected in the envelop design in conjunction with the indoor environment obtained through the case study of the UNStudio's office projects were daylight environment, thermal environment, ventilation, noise, privacy and view, and consideration for daylight environment and thermal environment was reflected in many cases through the case study. Looking at the changes in the diagrams in order of year, it can be seen that the envelope design using the environmental analysis tool has been performed since 2006. This is a clue to show the envelop design changes from the conceptual method to the data-based one. The diagrams and analysis results related to the envelop design showed that the thermal environment related to solar radiation was the most, and no diagrams and analysis related to the indoor illumination were found. Since 2010, PV panel installation has been shown in the envelope design, which can be found in the increased efficiency of PV panels due to the technological advances and the decrease in production cost.

  • Because the 'image' is the 'reality' in this era, there are the characteristics dematerialized between reality and non-reality in the contemporary architecture. These are promoting individualization, differentiation and multi-layered time with the development of electronic technology. This trend emphasizes the importance of imagines that are not only homogenized, simultaneous but also overlapped, multi-layered, discriminatory. Perspectives and essential characteristics of the architectural skin are changing in terms of the technical and social awareness and that means the skin has features as a complex body. Recently as an imagine creator, the architectural skin make form of media boundaries reflecting the various relationships between the observer and the external environment and also, the interior space become another sensory skin by removing the boundaries of the internal and external. It is important that making an identity of the architecture defined by the media or the imagine as well as the importance of space in architecture. These changes of skin make the third space based on the viewer's imagination and show the potential of new architectural skin with the expansion space by blurring the boundary between reality and illusion. It occurs to the diversity of the architectural skin with the identity. It will more diversified and be recognized immediately and sensibly through the interface attributes in contact with the city directly. In addition, it is more important that the skin become a unified body related with urban, social and cultural context.

디지털 미디어를 이용한 종합병원 디자인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design by using Digital Media of the General Hospital)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the design by using digital media the general hospital. The important result and advantage of the study are as follows; At first, applicability and maintenance of form and function design are enhanced and the digital media could be used for development of better and economical design. Secondly, the 3D CAD system useful for communication media and instructional tool for hospital planners and designers. Thirdly, fast and economical evaluation are obtained through the study of experimental simulation. Finally as a new tool in architectural field, the system helps to enhance the relationship between digital media and human. New concept and tools of hospital design are being developed in terms of its function, environment, and psychology. The computational design system should be improved for user friendly in the future.

주요 신문매체를 통해 본 아파트 주거문화 분석 (A Content Analysis of Housing and Culture in National Print Media)

  • Daily newspapers are one of the most influential mass media and the news coverage can be used an indicator of social issues and needs. The purpose of this study was to investigate characteristics of physical environment in apartments, and to examine the underlying social ideas. In doing so, the contents of national daily newspapers in the past ten years were analyzed by using frequencies. The study found that sophistication, diversity, and differentiation were drawn as social values that lie in the physical environment of apartments, and the characteristics were related to housing types, space planning and complex layout. The finding shows that the coverage of the physical environment in apartments has been growing, and the increasing attention to the residential environment remains strong and significant.

다공성 세라믹과 제올라이트를 활용한 수질정화미디어블럭의 효과 연구 (A Study on Water Purification Effect of Media Block Using Porous Ceramics and Zeolite)

  • Preeminent water treatment plans are essential to preserve the water quality of aquatic biotopes. Previous studies have not been sufficient to provide cost-effective maintenance method since they focused only on the purification of deteriorated water that requires a continuous supply of clean water. This study proposes an economical method of water quality maintenance using water treatment media block constructed vertically using porous ceramics, zeolite, and river pebble. The water treatment media block does not require a separate purification area because it functions as a purifier within the ecological pond which can maximize the biotope area. To evaluate the performance of the water treatment media block, we longitudinally tracked the change of water quality indicators (pH, TDS, COND, DO, T-P, T-N, COD) suggested by Water Environment Standards, Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea. We compared the water quality of one control (A: general ecological pond composition method of the laminated structure) and two experimental groups (B: a combination of aquatic plants and a water treatment media block, C: a water treatment media block only). As a result, we confirmed that the water treatment media block is an efficient and economical method to maintaining the water quality of the ecological pond for a long time. The water treatment media block will be a great help in providing a better aquatic biotope space for aquatic insects and fishes living in clear water.

다중 센서를 사용한 주행 환경에서의 객체 검출 및 분류 방법 (A New Object Region Detection and Classification Method using Multiple Sensors on the Driving Environment)

  • It is essential to collect and analyze target information around the vehicle for autonomous driving of the vehicle. Based on the analysis, environmental information such as location and direction should be analyzed in real time to control the vehicle. In particular, obstruction or cutting of objects in the image must be handled to provide accurate information about the vehicle environment and to facilitate safe operation. In this paper, we propose a method to simultaneously generate 2D and 3D bounding box proposals using LiDAR Edge generated by filtering LiDAR sensor information. We classify the classes of each proposal by connecting them with Region-based Fully-Covolutional Networks (R-FCN), which is an object classifier based on Deep Learning, which uses two-dimensional images as inputs. Each 3D box is rearranged by using the class label and the subcategory information of each class to finally complete the 3D bounding box corresponding to the object. Because 3D bounding boxes are created in 3D space, object information such as space coordinates and object size can be obtained at once, and 2D bounding boxes associated with 3D boxes do not have problems such as occlusion.

노마드적 공간에서 나타나는 유연성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Expression Characteristics of Flexibility in Nomadic Space)

  • Recently, in the fields of fashion, advertisement, film, literature, philosophy, etc., the word, 'Nomad', is being used frequently across the overall society. The contemporary society is actively incorporating "nomadic thinking" as a new social phenomenon across the boundaries of conventional fields. This is not an exception in the field of space design. This study, via the contemporary nomadic thinking, examined the relationship between space design's application possibility as a new trend and flexible space; then categorized the characteristics of flexible space into flexibility, temporariness, changeability, and correlation; and then analyzed expression characteristics of flexible space. As for unrestricted expression of scene, it was recognized that separation of scene and space leads space to meet the needs of surrounding environment and users; formation of changeable space enables uses of space from various perspectives; and combining external factors (energy, media technologies) with space leads space to self-evolution. Space is perceived as an living organism that is flexibly corresponding, via realistic movement and virtual movement, to the indefinite, diversified thinking of the contemporary society. Therefore, this study illuminates that nomadic thinking has significance as basic thinking to predict development and characteristics of design thinking through understanding the contemporary society with the basic thinking system that has been inherent without restrictions of being fixed to the present, past, and future.

Polyacrylamide 고흡수성 수지의 혼합 비율이 상토의 물리성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Incorporation Rate of Polyacrylamide Hydrogel on Changes in Physical Properties of Root Media)

  • 본 연구는 혼합상토의 보수성 증가를 위하여 polyacrylamide 고흡수성 수지 Stocksorb C를 혼합할 경우 상토의 물리성에 미치는 영향을 밝히기 위하여 수행하였다. 네종류 혼합상토, 피트모쓰 + 버미큘라이트(1:1 , v/v; PV), 피트모쓰+부숙왕겨(1:1, v/v; PR), 피트모쓰+부숙톱밥(1:1, v/v; PS), 그리고 피트모쓰+부숙수피(1:1, v/v; PB)를 조제하는 과정에서 STSB를 혼합하고, 플라스틱 포트에 충전하였으며, 5주 후에 상토의 물리적 특성을 측정하였다. STSB의 혼합비율이 증가할수록 PV, PS 및 PB 상토의 공극률이 증가하여 $5{\%}$ 수준의 통계적인 차이가 인정되었고, 직선 또는 2차곡선회귀가 성립하여 경향을 찾을 수 있었다. STSB의 혼합비율 증가로 PS와 PB상토의 용기용수량이 뚜렷하게 증가하였으나 PV 및 PR상토에서는 STSB의 혼합비율에 따른 처리간 차이가 인정되지 않았다. 특히 STSB의 혼합은 PV PS및 PB 상토의 기상률을 뚜렷하게 증가시켜 처리간 통계적인 차이와 함께 직선 및 2차곡선회귀가 성립하여 경향이 뚜렷하였다. 고흡수성 수지의 혼합비율이 높아질수록 4.90 kPa, 9.81 kPa, 29.4 kPa및 1.5 MPa 토양 수분장력 하에서 존재하는 수분량이 많았다. 각 상토별로 29.4 kPa이나 1.5 MPa에서 존재하는 수분은 PV 혼합상토에서 적었고, PB와 PR 혼합상토에서 유사한 수준이었으며, PS 혼합상토에서 가장 많았다. 이는 고흡수성 수지의 혼합비율이 높아짐에 따라 상토가 보유하는 수분량이 증가하지만 식물이 쉽게 흡수할 수 있는 수분량이 증가하지 않음을 의미한다.

전시 환경의 증강현실을 이용한 정보제공&학습 시스템 (Information provide and learning system using augmented reality of exhibition environment)

  • 본 연구에서는 전시(박물관, 공연) 환경에서 증강현실을 이용한 정보제공 및 학습 시스템을 제안한다. 일반적인 전시 공간에서는 그림이나 사진에 대한 설명을 인쇄물이나 공간에 설치(설명 공간) 형태의 정보를 제공하거나 '오디오 가이드'나 '도슨트' 프로그램을 이용한 보조 설명이 이루어진다. 증강현실 기술이 이러한 방식을 융합한 형태로 전시 공간에 적용되어 전시에 대한 설명이 텍스트, 이미지, 오디오 그리고 영상의 형태로 다양하게 사용자에게 제공하여 입체적인 정보제공 및 학습을 도와준다. 우리는 특정 전시 공간에서 증강현실 기술을 적용하여 그림에 대한 영상 설명을 이용한 정보제공 및 학습의 도구로 활용하고자 한다.

레고하우스 : 멀티 인터렉션 공간에서의 협업 (LEGO House Multi Interaction Space Collaboration)

  • Recent advanced interlace technologies allow the user to interact with different spaces such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Ubiquitous Computing (UC) spaces. Here, we present a LEGO House application, a collaborative application which involves multi interaction spaces -VR, AR and UC spaces. The LEGO House application is built based on the VARU framework which is designed for enabling the prototyping of a tangible space application. The application is about an interior design. One user is located in the combined AR and UC space and interacts with the AR LEGO house and the physical smart devices. The other users interact with the virtual LEGO house but they share the same environment, the LEGO house. Therefore, they can collaborate together as they are co-located.
