The evaluation of source potential and sink strength is the generally large and laborious sample size required to adequately assess anyone of the parameters in field-grown sweetpotato. For this purpose we used the rooted single-leaf cuttings with petioles, because the source and sink organs are restricted in this system. The rooted single-leaf cutting of sweetpotato provides a unique source-sink model system, and is established within about 50 days after planting. In this study, the sink potential of sweetpotato tubers was examined based on the expression of genes for starch synthesis (AGPase) and modification (SBEII and GBSSI) in single rooted leaf plant. The gene expression patterns of GBSSI, SBEII and AGPase at various developmental stages and in different types of root tissues presented. These results suggest that the rooted single-rooted method can be used an ideal model system to study physiological and biochemical mechanisms in sweetpotato.

The concentrations of aldehydes were measured in downtown area of Buchun and Kwanghwamoon of Seoul from October 1997 to August 1998 using 2-series impingers. The data have been analysed to identify the seasonal pattern of aldehyde sources in metropolitan areas. The measured concentration (in ppbv) of aldehydes were 8.86 $\pm$ 7.28 HCHO (formaldehyde) and 7.79$\pm$7.29 $CH_3$CHO (acetaldehyde) in Buchun, while recording 10.13$\pm$8.58 (HCHO) and 7.64$\pm$6.65 ($CH_3$CHO) in Kwanghwamoon. Their diurnal variation patterns showed significant increase of HCHO and $CH_3$CHO concentration in early afternoon, indicating an increase in secondary sources. Their concentrations however decreased in the nighttime, regardless of seasons. The strength of correlations between certain pairs such as (1) HCHO and CO and (2) $CH_3$CHO and CO were generally high during the winter months (0.64< r < 0.84), suggesting the possibility of similar source processes for HCHO, $CH_3$CHO and CO. On the other hand during the summer months, their correlations are frequently lower than winter months. We suggested that the complexity of source/sink processes during the summer period may reduce the correlations between aldehyde and CO.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems of current rules and regulations on the source selection for weapon system in defense acquisition project and suggest several techniques to ensure objectivity and fairness. As an application example, Helicopter source selection was presented. It was analyzed and compared through technique application and strength and weakness analysis of AHP, PROMETHEE and Attribute Transformation. The decision making techniques which make all conditions satisfactory in all situations are nonexistent. Thus, it is estimated that we can maintain the objectivity in the source selection of weapon systems by applying suitable decision making techniques in accordance with the patterns of evaluation item.

Lagrangian particle dispersion model(LPDM) is an effective tool to calculate the dispersion from a point source since it dose not induce numerical diffusion errors in solving the pollutant dispersion equation. Fictitious particles are released to the atmosphere from the emission source and they are then transported by the mean velocity and diffused by the turbulent eddy motion in the LPDM. The concentration distribution from the dispersed particles in the calculation domain are finally estimated by applying a particle count method or a Gaussian kernel method. The two methods for calculating concentration profiles were compared each other and tested against the analytic solution and the tracer experiment to find the strength and weakness of each method and to choose computationally time saving method for the LPDM. The calculated concentrations from the particle count method was heavily dependent on the number of the particles released at the emission source. It requires lots fo particle emission to reach the converged concentration field. And resulting concentrations were also dependent on the size of numerical grid. The concentration field by the Gaussian kernel method, however, converged with a low particle emission rate at the source and was in good agreement with the analytic solution and the tracer experiment. The results showed that Gaussian kernel method was more effective method to calculate the concentrations in the LPDM.

The identification of location and strength distribution of extended noise sources is important in the practical noise control engineering, especially in the viewpoint of dealing with the inherent nature of noise problem in question. For noise source ranking inside an automotive vehicle, the window method has been mainly used due to its simplicity. However, time and cost drawbacks in the measurement and inaccuracy due to low-frequency tunneling and lack of phase information have been a serious problem in using this method. In this study, the inverse FRF method was employed to carry out the noise source ranking inside an automotive vehicle and it was also used to predict the interior sound pressure with the change of sound insulation materials. As a result, it was found that the source contribution of vehicle panels could be successfully identified in comparison with the window method. The sound pressure at driver's ear position was predicted based on the obtained data and was compared with the measured data. The agreement in spectral trends was acceptable and their difference in level was within 3㏈ above 500㎐.
The in-duct acoustical sources of fluid machines are often characterized by the source impedance and strength using the linear time-invariant model. However, negative resistances, which are physically unreasonable, have been found throughout various measurements of the source properties in IC-engines and compressors. In this paper, the effects of the time-varying nature of fluid machines on the source characteristics are studied analytically. For this purpose, the simple fluid machine consisting of a reciprocating piston and an exhaust is considered as representing a typical periodic, time-varying system and the equivalent circuits are analyzed. Simulated measurements using the analytic solutions show that the time-varying nature in the actual sources is one of the main causes of the negative source resistances. It is also found that, for the small magnitude of the time-varying component, the source radiates large acoustic power if the piston operates at twice the natural frequency of the static system. or integral submultiples of that rate.
The importance of emotional quality of car is getting higher in these days. Noise takes great portion in emotional quality because it is detectable problem with just a few rides. The sources of car noise during operation are various and the related technical issues are vast. Sometimes weldments of auto body are referred as the source of noise and the suspicious weldment shows unsatisfactory welding quality in most cases. In this research, cases of noise making weldments are investigated to figure out the solution for welding quality improvement. They are categorized into several groups in according to the inferred types of the error source then appropriate solutions are suggested. Auto body has weldments of resistance spot welding and gas metal arc welding in general. Therefore the solutions are suggested as adjustment of welding process variables and related machineries. Inevitable error source is also referred which is originated from thermal expansion rate difference between ultra high strength steel and mild steel. This new approach is validated through simple calculation then more concrete investigation with numerical analysis is remained as further works to be done.
We present the results of very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) observations of gamma-ray bright blazar S5 0716+714 using the Korean VLBI Network (KVN) at the 22, 43, 86, and 129 GHz bands, which are part of the KVN key science program known as the Interferometric Monitoring of Gamma-ray Bright AGNs (iMOGABA). Multi-frequency VLBI observations were conducted in 29 sessions from January 16, 2013 to March 1, 2016. The source was detected and imaged in all available frequency bands. For all observed epochs, the source is compact on the milliarcsecond (mas) scale, yielding a compact VLBI core dominating the synchrotron emission on the mas scale. Based on the multi-wavelength data at 15 and 230 GHz, we found that the source shows multiple prominent enhancements of the flux density at the centimeter (cm) and millimeter (mm) wavelengths, with mm enhancements leading cm enhancements with a time lag of $18{\pm}5$ days. Turnover frequency is found to vary over our observations between 22 to 69GHz. Taking into account the synchrotron self-absorption model of the relativistic jet in S5 0716+714, we estimated the magnetic field strength in the mas emission region to be 0.4-66 mG during the observing period, finding that the magnetic field strength is strongly correlated with the turnover frequency and the relatively strong magnetic field (e.g., B > 40 mG) is correlated with flux enhancements at mm wavelengths (e.g., 86 GHz).

In the case of Mobile PKG Trend is in a situation where a decrease in Mold Top Margin is inevitable due to its miniaturization and high capacity product requirements. However, conventional laser marking technology has an average depth of deep, and when applied to narrow top margin products, PKG strength is expected to decrease due to overlapping processing, and reliability is reduced due to poor quality such as chip damage due to laser exposure. Therefore, we have secured the technology through research on low-depth laser marking solutions that can accommodate narrow top margin products. As a result of the evaluation of applicable technology application for PKG development products, it was verified that the marking depth decreased by 67% reduced and the PKG strength increased by 12%. Furthermore, the quality verification of Laser Damage that can occur through PKG Mechanical analysis was performed, and no Chip Damage defects were found. This ensured the stability of mass production application quality.
We investigate the influence of the galactic magnetic field (GMF) on the arrival direction (AD) of ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) by searching the correlation with the large-scale structure (LSS) of the universe. The deflection angle of UHECRs from sources by the GMF is reflected in a source model by introducing the Gaussian smearing angle as a free parameter. Assuming the deflections by the GMF are mainly dependent on the galactic latitude, b, we divide the regions of sky by b and analyze the correlation between the AD of UHECRs and the LSS of the universe in each region varying the smearing angle. We find the deflection is strongly dependent on the galactic latitude by the maximum likelihood estimation. Specifically, the best-fit smearing angles are $9^{\circ}$ and $84^{\circ}$ in the high galactic latitude (HGL), $-90^{\circ}$ < b < $-60^{\circ}$, and in the low galactic latitude (LGL), $-30^{\circ}$ < b < $30^{\circ}$, respectively. The strength of GMF becomes stronger from the HGL to the LGL. From the results, we can estimate the strength of GMF in each region. In the LGL, for example, if we assume UHECRs are protons, we have the order of $100{\mu}G$ GMF, which is much stronger than the expected value of conventional GMF model. However, if the primaries are heavy nuclei, which is consistent with the observational result of mass composition analysis, the order of GMF strength is a few ${\mu}G$. More data from the future experiments make it possible to study the GMF between the source of UHECRs and Earth more accurately.
