One of the common services of telematics is the car navigation that finds the shortest path from source to target. Until now, some routing algorithms of the car navigation do not consider the real-time traffic information and use the static shortest path algorithm. In this paper, we prosed the method to predict the traffic flow in the future. This prediction combines two methods. The former is an accumulated speed pattern, which means the analysis results for all past speeds of each road by classfying the same day and the same time inteval. The latter is the Kalman filter. We predicted the traffic flows of each segment by combining the two methods. By experiment, we showed our algorithm gave better precise predicition than only using accumulated speed pattern that is used commonly. The result can be applied to the car navigation to support a dynamic shortest path. In addition, it can give users the travel information to avoid the traffic congestion areas.

Power gating is one of effective techniques for reducing leakage current in semiconductor chip. However, power gating cell (PGC) which is used to switch the power source causes performance degradation and the associated reliability problem by increasing IR drop. However, the newly raised problem caused by different scaling properties between gates and metal wires demands additional considerations in power gating design. In this paper, we propose a robust cell placement based power gating design method for reducing the area for power gating cell and metal routing thus to meet IR drop requirement. Experimental results by applying the proposed techniques on the application processor for smartphone fabricated in 28nm CMOS process show that power gating cell area is reduced by 16.16% and maximum IR drop value is also decreased by 8.49% compared to existing power gating cell placement techniques.
To enhance the efficiency of network, content-centric networking (CCN), one of future Internet architectures, allows network nodes to temporally cache transmitted contents and then to directly respond to request messages which are relevant to previously cached contents. Also, since CCN uses a hierarchical content-name, not a host identity like source/destination IP address, for request/response packet routing and CCN request message does not include requester's information for privacy protection, contents-providers/ network nodes can not identify practical requesters sending request messages. So to send back relevant contents, network nodes in CCN records both a request message and its incoming interfaces on Pending Interest Table (PIT). Then the devices refer PIT to return back a response message. If PIT is exhausted, the device can not normally handle request/response messages anymore. Hence, it is needed to detect/react attack to exhaust PIT. Hence, in this paper, we propose improved detection/reaction schemes against attacks to exhaust PIT. In practice, for fine-grained control, this proposal is applied to each incoming interface. Also, we propose the message framework to control attack traffic and evaluate the performance of our proposal.

When the legacy multicast routing protocols are adopted in If-based mobile core networks, there are some problems such as traffic injection from unnecessary sources, traffic overhead by group management and router performance degradation by large amount of multicast session information. In this paper, we propose a stateless multicast mechanism which has no need to maintain multicast information for session status and reduces redundant network overhead for maintaining multicast tree. In addition interworking with IGMPv3 gets rid of traffic from unnecessary sources which have no registration from receivers. The operations of essential components including a gateway node for interworking with the legacy Internet multicast network, a gateway node for transparency to radio access network and a intermediate node in mobile core networks, are definitely defined and the proposed communication architecture is completed. Finally we evaluate and approve the performance of the proposed architecture by means of well-designed network simulation.

In this paper, we propose an effective multicasting protocol in wireless ad-hoc networks. Conventional wired and wireless network multicast protocols do not perform well in wireless ad hoc networks because they were designed without consideration of ad hoc environments such as node mobility, limited bandwidth, high error probability. To solve this problem, some multicasting protocols for ad hoc network have been proposed in the literature. However, these protocols can not provide high packet delivery ratio, low control packet overhead and low expended bandwidth at the same time. Therefore, in this paper, we propose RTMA that improves multicasting performance in wireless ad hoc networks. RTMA calculates its current region from its position information by using GPS in order to make tree among the multicast group nodes in the same region. The proposed region-based tree method is for high packet delivery ratio, low control packet overhead when many senders send data packets. RTMA makes a reliable tree by using speed information to fill a gap of the weak points of the tree structure. When searching the routing path, RTMA selects the reliable path excluding high speed nodes.
In this paper, we propose an efficient multicasting algorithm in multistage interconnection networks (MIN's) employing the region encoding scheme. The proposed algorithm uses the recursive scheme to recycle a multicast message at most two times through MIN, in order to send it to its desired destinations. It is composed of two recycling phases which are the copying phase and the routing phase of the multicast message. In the first phase, a source sends the message to a region that contains the largest number of destination regions, and destinations in these regions receive and store the message in this phase. The remaining destinations can finally receive the message in the second phase. This method of the algorithm can improve its performance by reducing the delay of message and the volume of traffic. Moreover, we evaluate the performance of our algorithm in terms of the average number of recycling and the number of internal links used per destination, comparing with the previously proposed algorithm.
A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) supports a multi-hop wireless network without any prepared base station (BS). The MANET is capable of building a mobile network automatically without any help from DHCP servers for address allocation or routers to forward or route messages. Many routing protocols have been proposed for the MANET, but these specify the most optimized or shortest path from a source to a destination, and they assume that nodes are pre-configured before communication. To make up for this, address allocation algorithms, such as MANETConf [1] and prophet address allocation algorithm [2], have been proposed. Especially, MANETConf proposes address allocation algorithm with duplication address check. In this paper, we present a dynamic node configuration protocol based on 2-tierd hierarchical network architecture for mobile ad-hoc network, modified from [1]. Especially, it reduces the number of broadcast message exchange between nodes when a new node somes into a network, which lessens network overhead, remarkably. This protocol is based on two-tired structure, and it ensures address allocation with simple duplication address defection mechanism.
Data dissemination using either flooding or legacy ad-hoc routing protocol is not realistic approach in the wireless sensor networks, which are composed of sensor nodes with very weak computing power, small memory and limited battery. In this paper, we propose the ELF(Energy-efficient Localized Flooding) protocol. The ELF is energy-efficient data dissemination protocol for wireless sensor networks. In the ELF protocol, there are two data delivery phases between fixed source and mobile sink node. The first phase, before the tracking zone, sensing data are forwarded by unicasting. After that, within the tracking zone, sensing data are delivered by localized flooding. Namely, the ELF Properly combines advantages from both unicasting and flooding. According to evaluation results by simulation, the proposed ELF protocol maintains very high data delivery ratio with using a little energy. Also, the property of average delay is better than others. From our research results, the ELF is very effective data dissemination protocol for wireless sensor networks.
A large volume of continuously growing BGP data files can raise two technical challenges regarding scalability and manageability. Due to the recent development of the open-source distributed computing infrastructure, Hadoop, it becomes feasible to handle a large amount of data in a scalable manner. In this paper, we present a new Hadoop-based BGP tool (BGPdoop) that provides the scale-out performance as well as the extensible and agile analysis capability. In particular, BGPdoop realizes a query-based BGP record exploration function using Hive on the partitioned BGP data structure, which enables flexible and versatile analytics of BGP archive files. From the experiments for the scalability with a Hadoop cluster of 20 nodes, we demonstrate that BGPdoop achieves 5 times higher performance and the user-defined analysis capability by expressing diverse BGP routing analytics in Hive queries.
Tn the data transmission service of the mobile host, it is needed to reduce the bandwidth and to make a reliable error recovery. there are two appropriate methods in that. One is FEC which retransmits the parity of error recovery, in case of happening of the loss after forming the parity of error recovery by grouping original data. The other is local recovery based on server which can block the implosion of transmission. The use of FEC and local recovery based on server at the same time enables the reliable multicast. This paper suggests algorithm that recovers the loss by FEC and local recovery based on server through the solution of the problems about triangle routing, tunnel convergence by dividing mobile host into two parts-the sender and the receiver. This model about the loss of algorithm tested the efficiency of performance by the homogeneous independent loss, the heterogeneous independent loss, the shared source link loss model. The suggested algorithm confirms effectiveness in the environment where there are much data and many receivers in mobile host.
