대형 디젤엔진의 소음 개선에 대한 기초 연구 (Basic Study on the Performance Improvement of HD Diesel Engine)

  • The evaluation of the noise for the an existing engine was carried out to improve the current noise level. The applied techniques were 1m air-borne noise, combustion noise analysis, torsional analysis at the front pulley and sound pressure intensity. In addition, the evaluation of the possibility to the noise reduction by means of wrapping the parts was performed to propose the detailed information in engine design. In view of the obtained results, the following countermeasures were recommended to reduce the current noise level through the above methods. Furthermore, in order to assess the influence of combustion noise on the overall engine noise, the noise test was also performed by the change of intake air temperature up to 5$0^{\circ}C$ in steps of 1$0^{\circ}C$. Finally, the fixed design specifications to reduce the engine noise will be decided in consideration of the test data for proto type engine.

서양식 성악발성법의 의학적 이해 (Understanding of the Western Classical Singing in Medical Point of View)

  • Western classical singing voices are different from those of pop song singer's singing voices as well as traditional Korean singing such as Pansori. We anlalysed the singing voices from three different categories with using free application programs available at the usual smart phones : sound level meter and Spectral View Analyzer and fiberoptic rhinolaryngoscopic evaluation. The intensity of voice produced by a classical western singer was 11 dB louder than that produced by a pop song singer. Source sound, glottic sound, as well as harmonic sound and singing resonant sound (Singer's formant) are much more prominent. When evaluated under video-rhinolaryngoscopy during singing, the resonance cavity especially oropharyngeal cavity and hypopharyngeal cavity are widely opened during singing of the western classical singer than those of the traditional Korean singer's singing. Difference of singing methods including producing the glottal sound, respiration and resonance are discussed. Possible explanation of development of 'Singer's Formant' is discussed.

  • In the actual situation of measuring the environmental noise, it is very often that only the resultant phenomenon fluctuation contaminated by the additional noise of arbitrary distribution type can be observed. Furthermore, the observed data is usually given in a sound level form the purpose of estimating only the undisturbed objective output response, some estimation method is necessary to reasonably remove the effect of the above additional noise. In this paper, first, a mathematical model of arbitrary sound insulation systems is introduced in the form of a linear system on intensity scale, by using the well-known additive property of energy quantities. Next, some estimation method of the output response under the existence of background noise is derived. Then, based on the expression of the above estimation method, a new prediction method of only the output response probability function form for arbitrary sound insulation systems without. a background noise is proposed by use of observed data contaminated by a background noise. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed experimentally too by applying it to the actual various type sound wall systems.

  • In this study the traffic noises were investigated for the subjective allowing limitation ion and the testified classes, 7 point scale was selected to evaluate the annoyance level with vocabularies. As a result, 'relatively annoying' is the most suitable expression for the allowing 1imitation, and the sound pressure levels for the traffic was 44.4㏈.

  • The characteristics of noise and vibration by a heavy impact source was studied. The triggering method was used for increasing the reliability and stability to measure the level of sound pressure. sound intensity and vibration acceleration. A simple finite element model and a rigid body analysis method were suggested to calculate the natural frequencies of the multi-layer floor system. The results show that the resilient materials decrease the natural frequency of the reinforced concrete slab, make a resonance with dominant driving frequency in the low frequency region, and increase the vibration and noise level.   • In this paper, 3-stage centrifugal turbo compressor was measured and analyzed numerical simulation for find noise source and was reduced noise with changing designs. For this purpose, it was measured noise level and was analyzed noise frequency at each stage. In order to Find where is noise source, the study was investigated about structure borne noise by using modal analysis and also was checked sound radiation and leakage of noise at inlet and outlet by result of sound intensity. In order to reduce of noise, sound insulation rings were maded and were adhered at joint and noise reduction effects were verified by measurement and numerical simulation. From the analysis results of leakage of noise, this study presented new joint designs, also it was verified by result of numerical simulation.

이명의 소리치료에 대한 문헌 고찰 (A Literature Review on Sound Therapy for Tinnitus)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze the various methods of sound therapy(ST) applied to tinnitus patients and their effectiveness, and to suggest an effective method that can be applied in clinical settings. Methods : Studies published from January 2018 to March 2023 were searched on 5 databases(Pubmed, RISS, OASIS, KISS, KCI). All RCTs that applied sound therapy as a main treatment method were included. Results : 14 studies were included. In 13 studies, sound therapy was statistically significant in improving tinnitus. Basic sound therapy was used in 6 studies(42%), followed by tinnitus rehabilitation therapy(TRT)(n=5, 35%). White noise(n=11, 75%) and nature sound(n=4, 28%) were the most frequently used sound sources. In the case of intensity, mixing point were the most common with 6 studies(42%). The mobile application(n=4) was the most frequently used implement. The application time of sound therapy per day was more than 3 hours(n=7), and the total treatment period was more than 3 months(n=9). Conclusions : Our findings indicate that sound therapy could be considered as an intervention for tinnitus patients. For better use, we suggest a basic type of sound therapy or TRT using white noise or nature sound at the mixing point level provided as a mobile phone application. In addition, the treatment period is recommended to be more than 3 hours/day for 3 months.

난류 제트확산화염의 연소소음 특성에 관한 실험연구 (Experimental Study on Combustion Noise Characteristics in Turbulent Jet Diffusion Flames)

  • The experimental study is carried out to identify the combustion generated noise mechanism in free turbulent jet diffusion flames. Axial mean fluctuating velocities in cold and reacting flow fields were measured using hot-wire anemometer and LDv.The overall sound pressure level and their spectral distribution in far field with and without combustion were also measured in an anechoic chamber. The axial mean velocity is 10-25% faster and turbulent intensities are about 10 to 15% smaller near active reacting zone than those in nonreacting flow fields. And sound pressure level is about 10-20% higher in reacting flow fields. It is also shown that the spectra of the combustion noise has lower frequency characteristics over a broadband spectrum. These results indicate that the combustion noise characteristics in jet diffusion flames are dominated by energy containing large scale eddies and the combusting flow field itself. Scaling laws correlating the gas velocity and heat of combustion show that the acoustic power of the combustion noise is linearly proportional to the 3.8th power of the mean axial velocity rather than 8th power in nonreacting flow fields, and the SPL increases linearly with logarithmic 1/2th power of the heat of combustion.

가스 및 분무화염의 연소소음 특성에 관한 실험연구 (Combustion Noise Characteristics in Gas and Liquid Flames)

  • Combustion noise involved with chemical heat release and turbulent process in turbopropulsion systems, gasturbine, industrial furnaces and internal engines is indeed noisy. The experimental study reported in this paper is made to identify a dominant combustion noise in jet flames. Gaseous propane and kerosene fuel have been used with air as the oxidizer in a different jet combustion systems. Combustion and aerodynamic noise are studied through far field sound pressure measurements in an anechoic chamber. And also mean temperature and velocities and turbulent intensities of both isothermal and reacting flow fields were measured. It is shown that axial mean velocity of reacting flow fields is higher about 1 to 3m/sec than that of cold flow in a gaseous combustor. As the gaseous fuel flow rate increases, the acoustic power increases. But the sound pressure level for the spray flame decreases with increasing equivalence ratio. The influence of temperature in the combustion fields due to chemical heat release has been observed to be a dominant noise source in the spray flame. The spectra of combustion noise in gaseous propane and kerosene jet flame show a predominantly low frequency and a broadband nature as compared with the noise characteristics in an isothermal air jet.

고강도 집속 초음파 발생용 오목한 환상형 배열 트랜스듀서의 최적설계 (Optimal design of a concave annular array transducer to generate high intensity focused ultrasound)

  • 본 연구에서는 의료 치료용으로 고강도 집속 초음파를 발생시킬 수 있는 오목한 환상형 배열 트랜스듀서의 구조를 최적설계하였다. 트랜스듀서는 곡률반경으로 40 mm를 가지는 여러 개의 동심원 채널로 이루어진 위상배열 구조이다. 구조 설계를 위해 트랜스듀서의 음장을 해석할 수 있는 이론식을 유도하였으며, 이론식 계산 결과의 타당성을 유한요소해석 결과와 비교함으로써 검증하였다. 배열 트랜스듀서의 기하학적 초점 이외 지점에서의 동적 집속 가능 유무도 함께 확인하였다. 또한 음장 내 원하지 않는 지점에 발생하는 그레이팅 로브의 레벨은 트랜스듀서의 채널수와 주파수와의 관계를 이용하여 개선될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 정점으로부터 특정 범위 내에 주엽이 존재하면서 그레이팅 로브를 포함한 최대 부엽의 크기를 체계적으로 줄일 수 있도록 트랜스듀서 구조를 최적 설계하였다. 설계된 구조는 모든 집속 지점에서 목표를 만족하는 성능을 보였다.
