The regulation for floor impact sound level is expected to be amended to 50㏈(L$\_$i, Fmax, AW/) and below in heavy-weight impact sound and 58㏈(L'$\_$n, AW/) and below in light-weight impact sound in Korea. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence factors of floor impact sound levels in apartments. The influence factors were air pressure of bang machine, height of microphones, data acquisition rate, etc. The air pressure range of bang machine were from 2.2 Pa to 2.6 Fa. Five microphones were installed at a height of 0.5m, 0.7m, 0.9m, 1.2m, 1.5m or 1.7m from floor level. The floor impact sound level was varied about 1-3㏈(L$\_$i, Fmax, AW/) in heavy-weight impact sound according to the influence factors.
The noise in apartment buildings are major factor that determine the quality of indoor noise environment. Particularly, the noise from children's running footsteps and plumbing noise have caused the residents who live in decrepit apartment houses to uncomfortable environment. And as time go by, sound performance are getting worse according to the aging of the facilities. So this study deals with the plans to improve the sound performance of decrepit apartment house. To compare the noise reduction, we measured the heavy-weight impact sound level and plumbing noise level before and after changes the measurement conditions. As the results of measurements, the heavy-weight impact sound level were decreased when stiffness reinforcement were installed on slab. Especially the sound level were decreased 2.1-7.6dB in 50-80Hz of low frequency range. Instead of PVC pipe system, cast iron pipe and triple elbow drain pipe systems were installed. Noise level were decreased 15dB(A) in 250Hz. Noise level of pipe system's on the slab is less than under slab one. On the contrary water saving stool showed increasing the noise level.

The aim of this study was to experimentally investigate the sound quality characteristics, such as sound deflection, sound pressure level and frequency characteristics of a magnetic type speaker in an anechoic chamber to overcome the sound quality and voice-coil temperature problems. To accomplish this, the sound quality performance of the magnetic type speaker was tested according to the magnetic fluid amount and magnetic field intensity. The sound deflection, sound pressure level, and frequency characteristics were measured using the Smarrt program. As a result, at a magnetic fluid amount of 2.4 ml, the sound deflection and the sound pressure level of the magnetic type speaker were enhanced by comparing with those of the general type speaker. The frequency characteristics and the sound pressure level of the magnetic type speaker were enhanced greatly with increasing magnetic field intensity from 8.06 mT to 9.10 mT. In addition, the sound deflection of the magnetic type speaker was 0.01% lower than that of the general type speaker.

This study was conducted to determine the sound paths and transmitted sound level in house. An air-conditioner system was selected a typical sound source. The measured transmission loss data shows that the apertures have an significant effect on the transmitted noise and comparable with the existing theoretical data. Therefore the complex aperture was substitute to quantitative apertures approximately. An effective simulation method, ray tracing and mirror image source method, was employed in the prediction of transmitted sound level. The measured results were efficiently reflected on the simulated results. So it is important that measuring the acoustic parameter prior to the prediction of the transmitted sound level in the house.

The reproducibility of measured level is a prior condition for the reliable assessment of the sound insulation performance. To review the reproducibility of impact sound level, 20 floors were selected in highrise apartment house, and then impact sound levels of two kinds of typical floors were measured with 10 times in each receiving point. The impact sound insulation class values were derived with a standard tapping machine and bang machine. Inspection of the result showed that smaller scale of the room caused to lower the reproducibility and that the higher values of standard deviation in lower frequency caused to deteriorate the reliability of assesment. Thus to enhance the reproducibility of the impact sound insulation class, greater allowable deviation of measured level is required in lower frequency than in higher one.

This survey was carried out to provide a sound and a vibration level of bridges on the Han river. A sound and a vibration level of 6 bridges(Ban po, Cheon ho, Olympic, Jam soo, Young dong, Dong ho) were measured. The X-axis vibration level($L_{10}$) was $42{\sim}60$ dB(H), Y-axis vibration level was $41{\sim}52$ dB(H) and Z-axis vibration level was $44{\sim}77$ dB(V). The Z-axis vibration level($L_{10}$) on the midpoint of bridges was 68 dB(V), and on the joint point was 56 dB(V). The sound level was $77{\sim}84$ dB(A). The sound level of Jam soo bridge was higher than any other bridges.

The noise emitted from an excavator has long been a cause of environmental disputes, while causing displeasure to the nearby residents. So, the ministry of environment adopted the construction machinery noise labeling system to encourage the construction machinery manufacturing companies to develop the low noise construction machinery voluntarily. But, as the quality of life improves, a growing number of people desire the comfortable and quite environment to live in. Under the situation, noise from the construction machinery has been a major cause for stress and complaints. When the noise dispute happened in the construction site, the sound pressure level of the construction machinery like a excavator was measured at the lot boundary of the noise victim's residence to judge how much noise damage occur. But the sound pressure level of the construction machinery is measured differently according to the acoustic environment of construction site and the measuring position, respectively, which makes it difficulty to judge whether the noise damage occur or not. As the sound power level of noise source is not affected by the acoustic environment of construction site and the measuring position, if we use the information of the sound power level, it will be easy to judge whether the noise damage occur and to establish the soundproofing measures. Therefore, we derive the sound power level regression model of the excavator to judge whether the noise emitted from the excavator damages to residents near the construction site. Also, the sound power level regression model of the excavator drawn in this paper will help construction companies to plan the noise reduction program in the construction sites.

Booming sound is one of the most important interior sound of a passenger car. The conventional booming noise research was focused on the reduction of the A-weighted sound pressure level. However A-weighted sound pressure level cannot give the whole story about the booming sound of a passenger car. In this paper, we employed sound metrics, which are the subjective parameters, used in psycoacoustics. According to recent research results. the relation between sound metrics and subjective evaluation is very complex and has nonlinear characteristics. In order to estimate this nonlinear relationship, artificial neural network theory has been applied to derivation of sound quality index for booming sound of a passenger car.

Since human listening is very sensitive when the sound hit him, the subjective index of sound quality is required. Therefore, at each situation of sound evaluation its composed with the sound quality factor. But, when substituting the level of one frequency band we could not see the tendency of substitution at whole frequency band during the sound quality evaluation. In this study a design of experiment is used. The frequency domain is divided into an equally 12 parts and each level of domain whether is given increase or decrease due to the change of frequency band based on 'sharp' and 'annoy' of the sound quality is analyzed. By using the design of experiment the number of test is reduce very effectively by the number of experiment and each band the main effect will be as a solution. The case of sound quality for 'sharp' and 'annoy' at each band, the change of band (increase or decrease of sound pressure or keep maintain) which will be the most effects on the characteristics of sound quality can be identify and this will be able to us to select the objective frequency band. Through these obtained results the physical changes of level at arbitrary frequency domain sensitivity can be adapted.

The present study determined the overall noise level and the distribution of sound pressure level over audible frequency range of noise produced at various work sites. Work-related noise greater than 80dBA produced from 98 separate work sites at 37 manufacturing companies and machine shops were analysed for the overall sound level (dBA) and frequency distribution. In addition, to determine the possible hearing loss related to work site noise, a hearing test was also conducted on 1,374 workers in these work sites. The results of the study were as follows ; 1. Of the total 98 work sites, 57 work sites(58.2%) produced noise exceeding threshold limit value (${\geq}90dBA$) set by the Ministry 01 Labor. In terms of different manufacturing industries the proportion of work sites which exceeded 90dBA was the highest for the cut-stone products industry with 6/6 work sites and lowest for the commercial printing industry with 1/13 work sites. 2. The percentage of workers who were exposed to noise greater than 90dBA was 19.8% (1,040 workers) 01 the total 5,261 workers. In terms of different industries, cut-stone products industry had the most workers exposed to noise exceeding 90dBA with 82.8%, textile bleaching and dyeing industry was next at 30.6% followed by fabricated metal products industry with 27.9%, plastic products manufacturing industry had the lowest percentage of workers exposed to 90dBA exceeding noise with 4.5%. 3. There was a statistically significant correlation between the frequency of noise-induced hearing loss and the percentage of workers exposed to noise exceeding 90dBA (P<0.05). 4. The frequency analysis of noise produced at the 98 work sites revealed that 44 work sites (44.9%) had the maximum sound pressure level at high-frequencies greater than 2KHz. In addition, significantly higher sound pressure level was detected at the high-frequencies at 90dBA exceeding work sites as compared to below 90dBA work sites (P<0.01). 5. The differences in sound level meter's A-and C-weighted sound pressure levels were analysed by frequencies. Of the 28 work sites which showed 0-1 dB difference in the two weighted sound levels, 20 work sites (71.4%) had significantly higher sound pressure levels at high-frequencies greater than 2KHz (P<0.01). Furthermore, there was a tendency for higher sound pressure levels to occur in the high-frequency range as the differences in the two weighted sound levels decreased.
