  • There are many attempts to make more comfortable amenity in city districts and streets to provide a soundscape design. And the sound which reflects the culture and peculiarity of characterized the street must be preserved. Thus these attempts are recognized as another noise control to give the suitable environmental sound, not to reduce noise level. This study aims to analyze the behavior of the pedestrian and sound environment of the street sound, by measuring the sound level for the Insa-Dong Traditional Culture street. As the results, it is advisable to use the natural water sound dominating the district and to provide the staying spot to watch the event to be held. The results of this study could be used as fundamental data to recover the image of Insa-Dong Traditional Culture street to consider design concept of soundscape.

  • Recently, the concern on sound qualify (SQ) is on the steep increase in the fields of vehicle and home appliance and over the fast few decades a considerable number of studies have been conducted on SQ evaluation. As a result, basic procedure for SQ evaluation has been already suggested. Although most interesting sounds have time-varying features, however, little is known about their SQ evaluation. The purpose of this study is to systematize a method for SQ evaluation of non-stationary sound. For this, various listening tests procedure for non-stationary sound is introduced and it is attempted to find out correlation between various SQ metrics and subjective data obtain from listening test. Booming of car interior noise in acceleration is used as an example and finally, representative value is obtained for the interesting sensation of non-stationary sound.

  • The regulation for floor impact sound level is expected to be amended to 50㏈(L$\_$i, Fmax, AW/) and below in heavy-weight impact sound and 58㏈(L'$\_$n, AW/) and below in light-weight impact sound in Korea. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence factors of floor impact sound levels in apartments. The influence factors were air pressure of bang machine, height of microphones, data acquisition rate, etc. The air pressure range of bang machine were from 2.2 Pa to 2.6 Fa. Five microphones were installed at a height of 0.5m, 0.7m, 0.9m, 1.2m, 1.5m or 1.7m from floor level. The floor impact sound level was varied about 1-3㏈(L$\_$i, Fmax, AW/) in heavy-weight impact sound according to the influence factors.

  • This study designs block-based machine learning education program using sound data that can be easily applied in elementary schools. The education program designed its goals and directions based on the results of a demand analysis conducted on 70 elementary school teachers in advance according to the ADDIE model. Scratch in Machine Learning for Kids was used for block-based programming, and the education program was designed to discover regularity of data values using sound data, learn the principles of artificial intelligence, and improve computational thinking in the programming process. In a later study, the education program needs to verify what changes there are in attitudes and computational thinking about artificial intelligence.

  • An attempt is given to the problem of analyzing the two-way binary attribute data using the logistic regression model in order to find a sound statistical methodology. It is demonstrated that the analysis of variance (ANOVA) may not be good enough, especially for the case that the proportion is very low or high. The logistic transformation of proportion data could be a help, but not sound in the statistical sense. Meanwhile, the adoption of generalized least squares (GLS) method entails much to estimate the variance-covariance matrix. On the other hand, the logistic regression methodology provides sound statistical means in estimating related confidence intervals and testing the significance of model parameters. Based on simulated data, the efficiencies of estimates are ensured with a view to demonstrate the usefulness of the methodology.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can automatically mix the screen and sound by tracking the change of the sound data according to the screen change so that the real sound can be implemented in the personal broadcasting service. Since the personal broadcasting service is often broadcasted lively, it should be convenient to have a real-time mixing. Through experiments, it was confirmed that the sound pressure changes in a wide range in the high frequency band related to the clarity for understanding according to the rotation angle change of the screen. Regression analysis of the sound pressure changes at 2kHz, 4kHz, and 8kHz, The attenuation change of sound pressure was observed at the slope of -1.17, the slope of -2.0, and the slope of -2.44 for each frequency. Therefore, these experiment results can be applied to the VR service. This study is expected to be useful data in the implementation of personal broadcasting service.

  • Non-destruction examinations are required in medical sciences and various engineering now. We wish to emulate the examinations in very simplified experiments. It is an educational program. We show a neural network analysis to predict the locations of a sound-source or a body irradiated by sound-waves in audio-region. The sound is an interest flux, and it enables to clear local-structures in a non-transparent space. However, the sound-propagation equations are not solved easily, therefore, we consider to adopt multi-layer neural-networks instead of the direct solutions. We used detected intensities and coordinates for input data and teaching data. A neural network learned them. The neural-network analysis decomposed the distance of 50cm. The resolution is rather rough; however, it is caused by the limitation of our equipments. Since there is no problem in the neural network processing, if we could revise experiments, then, progress of the resolution would be got. Thus, the proposed method functioned as an educational and simplified non-destruction examination.

  • In the actual situation of measuring the environmental noise, it is very often that only the resultant phenomenon fluctuation contaminated by the additional noise of arbitrary distribution type can be observed. Furthermore, the observed data is usually given in a sound level form the purpose of estimating only the undisturbed objective output response, some estimation method is necessary to reasonably remove the effect of the above additional noise. In this paper, first, a mathematical model of arbitrary sound insulation systems is introduced in the form of a linear system on intensity scale, by using the well-known additive property of energy quantities. Next, some estimation method of the output response under the existence of background noise is derived. Then, based on the expression of the above estimation method, a new prediction method of only the output response probability function form for arbitrary sound insulation systems without. a background noise is proposed by use of observed data contaminated by a background noise. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed experimentally too by applying it to the actual various type sound wall systems.

  • A method to reconstruct the sound field around a Korean bell is developed. The sound radiation problem is formulated based on the boundary element method by using the algorithm of the acoustical holography. Sound pressures at the hologram surface are measured and used as input data for the analysis program that was developed in this study. An error minimization scheme is presented to overcome difficulties that arise in the backward reconstruction of the BEM-based acoustical holography In the model fictitious source surfaces were also introduced to reduce the complexity stemmed from the source shape. The sound field associated with the (4.0) vibrational mode of the Korean bell was visualized and verified experimentally.

  • This study is to analyze the influence of the Tsushima Warm Current (TWC) on the variation of sound speed in the southern part of the East Sea. Sound speed is calculated by method of Chen and Millero (1977:, based on the CTD data measured in June of 1996. Sound speed in the central part of the TWC is about $45ms^{-1}$ more fast than that in the other regions without the TWC. Sound speed minimum layer (SML) in the TWC region exists between loom and 341 m, while it exists between 260m and 290m in the non-TWC region. SML distributes along the path of TWC over continental shelf in the coastal waters of Japan.
