This study investigated the relations between young children's self-esteem and mother's parenting self-efficacy, husband support, parenting behavior, and mothers' depression, focusing on the mediational role of mother's parenting self-efficacy and behavior. Participants were 762 young child-mother dyads in Busan and Gyungnam, Korea. Mothers were Korean and female international marriage immigrants from China, Philippines, and Vietnam. Questionnaires were based on Choe and Chung (2001), Hong (1995), Shin (1996), Lee and Song (1991), and Lee (1994). Structural equation modeling indicated that parenting self-efficacy and parenting behavior were significant mediators of the relation between husband support and depression and child's self-esteem in Korea mothers, but in female international marriage immigrants. The results will be helpful for understanding parenting for child self-esteem in both groups.

The purpose of this study is to explore the concept of a logistics hub, identify key factors and milestones for its development, and give some recommendations and implications to developing countries. For this the countries competing to be Logistics hub in Northeast Asia (NEA), such as South Korea, japan and China, are taken into consideration These countries have under its priority policies the development of a logistics hub vision to become the central area of the region achieving microeconomic and macroeconomic prosperity. Based on the review of the relevant literature, five factors came up as key determinants for the development of a hub project: 1. Logistics services support and infrastructure. 2. Business environment. 3. Economic determinants. 4. Political support and 5. Access to international markets. These are going to be analyzed together with its different variables, using statistical methods.

Due to the growth of container traffic and port competition, ports have increasingly been under pressure to improve their efficiency in port operation and port management for competitive edge. The purpose of this study is to compare the technical efficiency among major container terminals in China, Korea and Singapore using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). This paper analyses the returns-to-scale using the output orientation of VRS and CRS model. The benefits of this study examining the relative performance of container terminals will enable container terminal operating companies or port policy makers in those countries to identify current slacks and to set up a proper port management and operation plan to improve their productivity.

After analyzing the datas to propose the rightful recognition and research direction for the long used charcoal, the following conclusions are obtained. 1. The 'soot' is pure Korean which has the meaning of 'fresh power' and is translated in English as charcoal which is composition of china and cool meaning good. 2. The main dispositions of the charcoal are 85% of carbon, 10% of water, 4% of minerals and 2% of essential so that the understanding of properties and effects of carbon are essential. 3. It is usually appeared that there are purifying and detoxifying effects of the woods and the room in practical use of charcoal. 4. In everyday life, it removes the odors, regulates the humidity and prevents the decaying. 5. It is often used medically for activating liver fuctions, regulating digestive fuctions and for diseases with inflammations, fever or bleeding. 6. The charcoal is used in medical treatment internally as well as externally. Above conclusions shows that the objective research is needed for clinical use considering the physical and chemical properties in future.

KAERI has contrived 16 kinds of spacer grid shapes of its own since 1997 and applied for domestic and foreign patents. To date, KAERI has obtained US and ROK patents for 11 kinds of spacer grid shapes among them and the others are under review in USA, EC, China, and ROK. In this study, detailed performance analysis and test on two spacer grid shapes that are assumed to be the most effective candidates for the spacer grid of the next generation nuclear fuel in Korea was carried out. The result has shown that the performances of the candidates are better or not worse than those of the current spacer grid.

The aims of this study show the purpose of writing[Ka-ryae] and its transmission and operation from the end of Koryo to Chosun dynasty. And Studying of a traditional marriage ceremony as shown in [Ka-ryae], We intend to find a mental meaning and value in it. The major findings this study are as follows. 1. Though [Ka-ryae] was written by Chu-Ja who lived in the period of South-Song of China, it had greatly influenced the thought, system and life of Korean society from the end of Koryo to Chosun dynasty. 2. Studying the content of [Ka-ryae], we learned the respect, discretion and reghtness as the mental meaning and value of a marriage ceremony.

This study investigated how the characteristics of female international marriage immigrants, their husbands, their children, and their families affected their parenting self-efficacy, using a sample of 187 female international marriage immigrants, from China, the Philippines, or Vietnam, now living in Pusan and Gyungnam, Korea. We used questionnaires were based on the studies by Choe & Chung (2001), Shin (1997), Lee (1996), and Lee & Song (1991), and with the addition of demographic characteristics. Analysis results showed that the mother's parenting self-efficacy subscales correlated positively with mother's educational level, social support, and Korean language level; husband's educational level; and family income, and negatively with mother's depression, husband's age, and mother's acculturative stress. Multiple regressions indicated that husband's support was the strongest predictor of female international marriage immigrants' parenting self-efficacy.

High-pressure amphibolite-facies rocks with serpentinized ultramafic rocks occur in the Gyeonggi Massif. Ultramafic rocks occur as lenses within Precambrian granite gneiss, which showing dominantly tectonic lines of NNE directions as well as east extensional area of the chinese collision belt between south and north China block(\ulcorner). This study regionally makes a comparative study of ultramafic rocks in the western part of the Gyeonggi Massif in Korea. (omitted)

Objectives: The purpose of this report was to review the clinical trials of the catgut embedding for obesity treatment. Methods: We searched the clinical trial papers with key words of obesity and catgut embedding via searching Pubmed, Scopus and KISS etc. Results: We reviewed 8 searched articles, 7 articles were conducted in China and only 1 article was published in Korea. Most of Chinese articles used acupuncture as a control group and revealed the equality or superiority of catgut embedding in body weight loss. The only Korean article, which was uncontrolled, implanted catgut in localized fat area, it had changes partially in fat thick, body size. Conclusions: The acupoint catgut embedding has the efficacy of body weight loss, but to confirm the efficacy of localized fat loss, more randomized controlled trials are needed.
