  • Recently, to improve the productivity in the continuous casting process, thin slab continuous caster which is one of the new steelmaking technologies by a high speed casting has been introduced. In the process of the thin slab continuous cast, there is more possibility than convnetional one that the deformation be occurred by the bulging of solidified shell, since the thickness of soliidfied shell is very thin as much as 60mm after the casting is finished. In some cases of severe bulging, there might be more breakout. In this paper, using finite difference method , solification analysis of slab is made as well as the thicknessof solidified shell and temperature are calculated. Also, based on the data of the calculated temperature, the deformed behavior of solidified narrow face is anlayzed with the MARC which is a package program for finite element analysis.

  • Continuous casting machine has been experienced a rapid development to increase productivity with high casting speed and to meet consumer's strict demands for high quality. However, because most of defects and cracks are initially formed in mold and grown into surface cracks during the post process, more specific and clear investigations upon heat transfer mechanism between mold and solidified shell are necessarily needed. In this study heat transfer coefficients which shows the characteristic of heat transfer mechanism are calculated with temperatures measured in bloom mold using optimal algorithm, and thermal analysis are investigated using the calculated heat transfer coefficients. Finally uniformity of solidified shell is investigated for high carbon steel, 0.187%C from thermal analysis.

  • The continuous casting process has been adopted increasingly in recent years to save both energy and labor. It has experienced a rapid development in the production of semi-finished steel products, replacing the conventional route of ingot casting plus rolling. To achieve this good merit, however, more studies about a heat transfer mechanism between roll and slab are needed. So this paper shows the results of the deformation behavior of steel cast slabs, which are about the solidification and heat transfer. This study is used to prevent internal cracks of a slab in a bending and unbending zone. The value of moving strand shell bulging between two supporting rollers under ferrostatic pressure and slab-self weight has been computed in terms of creep and elastic-plasticity. The high strand distributions in solidified shell undergoes a series of bulging are calculated with boundary condition a very closed to continuous steel cast slabs productions.

무전해 도금법을 이용한 코어 셸 구조의 Cu-Ag분말 제조 (Preparation of Cu-Ag Powder having Core-Shell Structure by Electroless Plating Method)

  • Cu-Ag powder having Core-Shell structure was prepared from by electroless plating method using agents such as $AgNO_3$, $NH_{4}OH$, Hydroquinone. Ag coated copper powders were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(EDX). The silver coating layer of copper powder was affected from various reaction conditions such as molar ratio of $NH_{4}OH$, $AgNO_3$, and pulp density. Free silver was generated below 0.1M or 0.3M and above of $NH_{4}OH$ mole ratio. Silver coating layer thickened as addition of $AgNO_3$. When the pulp density reached 12% with 0.2M $NH_{4}OH$, and 0.15M $AgNO_3$ at $4^{\circ}C$, silver was homogeneously distributed around the copper particles and free silver particles were not generated.

연속주조기의 몰드 폭 변경 패턴 개발 (Development of High-Speed Width-Changing Pattern in Continuous Caster)

  • 연속주조 시에 폭변경 속도를 향상시키기 위해 폭조정의 4 가지 패턴에 대해 연구하였다. 주요 사항은 폭변경 장치의 구동력을 최소화하고, 몰드 내의 응고막의 변형해석 모델을 개발하고, 폭변경 속도 상승을 제한하는 주요인자를 도출하는 것이다. 폭변경 실험을 근간으로 4 개 패턴의 주요 특징을 도출하였고, 각 패턴에 대한 힘을 비교하였다. 실험은 각 패턴의 구동력 비교를 위해 동일한 주조속도에서 수행하였다. 응고막변형 해석모델의 변수를 조정하기 위해 실험결과를 모델에 적용하였다. 폭변경 속도를 상승시키고, 구동력을 저감시키기 위해 패턴의 변수를 제어하였다. 가장 효율적인 패턴은 고속패턴이었으며, 구동력을 저감하기 위한 주요인자는 구동장치가 이동할 때의 기울기였다.

  • A slag building simplified model was developed to determine wall heat flux of a Shell 300 MW coal gasifier. In the model 4 layers(particulate, sintered, molten slag, solidified slag) were considered and mass conservation and energy balance were used to obtain each slag layer's thickness and surface temperature. Thermo-chemical and fluid charateristics of the gasifier were studied with and without considering the slag model using commercial CFD code FLUENT. Consideration of the slag layer did not affect syn-gas mole fractions. However, the slag layer caused to increase the exit gas temperature by about 50 K.

  • In this paper, The bulging behavior of the solidified shell in continuously cast slabs have been numerically analyzed using three-dimensional elasto-plastic and creep finite element method Three-dimensional model has been applied in order to investigate the effect of the narrow face shell on restraining the bulging deflection. Solidification analysis are carried out by two-dimensional finite difference method. In this way, strains occurring at the solidification front near the narrow face of the slab, as well as those occurring in the board face have been computed. The adequacy of the model has been checked against the experimental results. In addition, the effect of the slab width and casting speed on the bulging are discussed.

  • 본 연구에서는 고속연속주조의 기초적 연구로서 벌징만을 선택하여 주조속도 의 변화에 의한 주편의 거동을 해석하기 위해 응력을 변형률, 변형률속도, 온도의 함 수로서 잡고 크리프 변형과 탄소성 변형을 동시에 고려한 모델을 도입하여 주편내에서 의 벌징량, 변형률 등의 상태를 밝히며, 고속주조에 있어서 고려해야 할 사항에 대하 여 고찰한다.

굴패각 모르타르에의 휘발성 유기화합물 흡착에 대한 연구 (A Study on Isothermal Adsorption of VOCs onto Gypsum Mortar Incorporating Oyster Shell)

  • 굴패각과 석고를 대상으로 고형화시킨 후 포름알데히드 및 벤젠으로 대표되는 휘발성 유기화합물(volatile organic compounds, VOCs)를 흡착챔버 내에서 노출시켜 흡착특성을 관찰하였다. VOC를 챔버에 노출 후 굴패각과 같은 친환경재료를 혼입한 모르타르를 각각 개별적으로 주입한 후 180분간 흡착특성을 고찰하였다. 굴 패각분말을 0, 10, 30, 50%로 혼입한 시험체를 대상으로 포름알데히드와 VOC(벤젠, 톨루엔, 자일렌)를 $27.7{\sim}28.5mg/m^3$의 고농도 조건과 $175{\sim}150{\mu}g/m^3$의 저농도 조건에서 각각 노출시켜 흡착성 실험을 수행한 결과, 전반적으로 노출된 조건과 무관하게 굴패각의 혼입 함량이 많을수록 흡착성이 증가함을 관찰할 수 있었다. 또한 대류-확산-흡착이 고려된 모델을 사용하여 실험과 비교하였다. 확산계수 및 확산 길이(diffusion length)로 대변되는 흡착재의 친화력(affinity)을 고려한 모델을 시험한 결과, 피흡착제의 종류와 흡착재의 친화성에 따른 차이를 잘 표현하였으며 전반적으로 실험데이터와 일치하는 경향을 보였다.
