이성분혼합물의 응고과정중 이중확산대류의 가시화 (Visualization of double-diffusive convection during solidification processes of a binary mixture)

  • An experimental study has been conducted to investigate solidification of NH$_{4}$CI-H$_{2}$0 mixtures inside a vertical rectangular enclosure. Solidification process is visualized by the shadowgraph method. Emphasis is placed on the effect of solidification parameters such as the aspect ratio, cooling wall temperature and initial composition. The aspect ratio shows a dominant effect on the number and developing time of the double diffusive layers which reveals the relative strength of solutal convection to thermal convection. Similar flow pattern is observed when the concentration difference between interdendritic liquid and the pure liquid which drives solutal convection is the same regardless of the different cooling wall temperature and initial concentration.

  • The family mold casting have advantages which are able to make products with different shapes and dimensions simultaneously in a single mold. In this study, the design of the 4 cavity rotor family mold was used by "Anycasting" software, the defects occurred during die casting were predicted and suggested the best optimization conditions for sound products. The result of the experiment were that the optimum overflow design was needed for gas emission and control of residual oxides. It was clear that the defects positions formed by diecasting were agreed with nearly them predicted by simulation.

  • 폐기물 관리법에 의하면 2001년부터 슬러지의 매립이 금지됨에 따라, 매립이외의 다른 처리방식을 도입해야 할 상황이다. 전과 정평가는 제품 및 서비스의 전과정을 통해서 발생하는 환경부하를 정량화 하는 방법으로 대두되고 있으며 환경성에 대한 정책의 입안 및 제품의 비교평가 등 그 활용분야가 다양하다. 본 논문에서는 전과정평가(Life Cycle Assessment, LCA)를 이용하여 슬러지의 처리방법 중 소각, 퇴비화, 고형화에 대한 환경성을 비교 평가하여 적절한 처리방식을 선정하는데 도움이 되고자 하였다. 각각 처리시설의 Data는 구리시 하수처리장의 소각시설, 난지도 하수처리장의 퇴비화 시설, 수도권매립지의 고형화 처리시설을 방문하여 운영자료를 사용하였으며, 국내 D/B로 구축된 전력 및 수송자료도 이용하였다. 전과정 평가를 수행한 결과 퇴비화가 가장 낮은 환경 부하를 나타냈고. 고형화 처리방식이 가장 큰 환경부하를 나타냈다.

Al-Si합금의 수직원심주조시 응고조직의 형성 (Evolution of Solidification Structures of Al-Si Alloys in a Vertical Centrifugal Casting)

  • Al-Si alloys were solidified in a rotating cylindrical mold by a vertical centrifugal casting process. Under a certain casting condition, there are four distinct zones such as the chill zone, the primary fine columnar zone, the equiaxed zone, and the secondary coarse columnar zone from the mold wall. The columnar-equiaxed transition (CET) and the equiaxed-columnar transition (ECT) were measured as functions of solute content, flow rate (mold velocity), pouring temperature and mold temperature. Within the critical value of solute content, as the flow rate increases, the columnar-equiaxed transition were found, but not the equiaxed-columnar transition. The aspect ratio of the primary columnar zone was more affected by the solute content than the flow rate. However the aspect ratio of the equiaxed zone was more affected by the flow rate than the solute content. The aspect ratio of the secondary columnar zone was affected by both the flow rate and the solute content.

  • Melting method has long been considered difficult to realize because of problems such as the low foamability of molten metal, the varying size of cellular structures and solidification shrinkage. The parameters to solve the problem in electric furnace were stirring temperature, stirring velocity, heating velocity and foaming temperature It is important to consider the effects of induction heating, because it brings about the inner flow by the temperature gradient. Aspect ratio also depends on the induction heating. Mechanical properties are dependent on cell sizes and aspect rations. Therefore, this paper presents the effects of these parameters on the cell sizes. For the sake of this, combined stirring process was used to fabricate aluminum foam materials by the above mentioned parameters. Image analysis was performed to calculate the cell sizes, distributions, and aspect ratioes at the cross section of feared aluminum in the direction of height.

전자빔 용접된 고장력 알루미늄 합금 용접부의 고온균열 발생 및 특성에 관한 연구

  • This study was performed to evaluate basic characteristics of electron beam weldability for high strength aluminum alloys. The aluminum alloys used were A5083 and A6N01, and A7N01. The principal welding process parameters, such as accelerating voltage, beam current, welding speed and chamber pressure were investigated. The dimension and microstructure of welds were evaluated with OLM, and SEM (EDAX). In addition, weldability variation(cracking) due to process parameters was also evaluated. The degree of cracking in the EB fusion zone appears to be affected mainly by aspect ratio, such that as aspect ratio increases the cracking tendency also increases. The alloying element itself may also affect the hot cracking resistance, but its role is considered to be indirect effect such that the relatively higher vaporization pressure elements of Zn and Mg give deeper weld penetration and thus results in greater cracking tendency.

친환경 SCW공법용 그라우팅재의 경화특성 (A Hardening Properties of Eco-Friendly SCW Grouting Material)

  • 본 연구에서는 시멘트 생산에 의한 $CO_2$ 배출과 이로 인한 환경 부하를 감소시키기 위해 산업부산물인 고로슬래그 미분말을 활용하여 기존 SCW 공법에 사용되던 시멘트주입재를 친환경 무기결합재로 대체하여 모르타르를 제작하고 친환경 밀크주입재로써 적용이 가능한지를 파악하였다. 본 연구 결과 포틀랜드 시멘트를 사용하지 않은 비소성 시멘트를 이용한 NSB 경화체가 보통 포틀랜드 시멘트 경화체와 비교해 내산성, 내해수성, 압축강도 등이 우수한 것으로 나타나고 있다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 만들어진 친환경 무기결합재 모르타르는 높은 내구성, 내화학성을 요구하는 SCW 공법과 같은 흙막이벽, 해양하부구조물 등의 지반재료용 결합재에 적용이 가능하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

파랑에 의한 방파제 케이슨 침하 경향 및 원인 분석: 침하 계측자료를 중심으로 (Characteristics and Causes of Wave-Induced Settlement in Caisson Breakwater: Focusing on Settlement Data)

  • 지금까지의 방파제 침하와 관련된 연구는 주로 해석위주의 수치모형실험 또는 축소모형을 이용한 실내수조모형실험을 통해 이루어졌다. 현재까지 실제 방파제 구조물에서 계측된 침하를 이용한 연구는 이루어지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 실제 케이슨 방파제에서 장기간 계측된 침하 자료를 분석해 정성적인 측면에서 파동에 의한 케이슨의(하부지반 포함)침하 경향과 그 원인을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 케이슨 침하에 파랑의 영향이 있음을 분명하게 확인할 수 있었다. 특히 태풍과 같은 고파랑 조건에서는 그 경향이 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 케이슨 침하는 파랑에 의한 해저지반에서의 진동과잉간극수압과 잔류과잉간극수압의 합으로 표현되는 과잉간극수압의 증가에 의한 지반의 액상화와 축적된 과잉간극수압의 소산에 따른 지반의 고밀도화 과정을 통해 발생된다. 케이슨 하부 지반의 과잉간극수압 거동은 전적으로 케이슨 거동에 지배된다. 고밀화과정을 경험한 지반은 동급의 또는 그 보다 작은 파랑 조건에서는 액상화 발생 가능성이 현저하게 줄어들어 결과적으로 침하 발생도 감소된다.

용융 금속의 고화층 증가가 자연대류 열전달에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Crust Increase on Natural Convection Heat Transfer in the Molten Metal Pool)

  • An experimental study has been performed on natural convection heat transfer with a rapid crust formation in the molten metal pool of a low Prandtl number fluid. Two types of steady state tests, a low and high geometric aspect ratio cases in the molten metal pool, were performed. The crust thickness by solidification was measured 88 a function of boundary surface temperatures. The experimental results on the relationship between the Nusselt number and Rayleigh number In the molten metal pool with a crust formation were compared with existing correlations. The experimental study has shown that the bottom surface temperature of the molten metal layer, in all experiments. is the major influential parameter in the crust formation, duo to the natural convection flow. The Nusselt number of the case without a crust formation in the molten metal pool is greater than that of the case with the crust formation at the same Rayleigh number. The present experimental results on the relationship between the Nusselt number and Rayleigh number In the molten metal pool match well with Globe and Dropkin's correlation. From the experimental results, a now correlation between the Nusslet number and Rayleigh number in the molten metal pool with the crust formation was developed as $Nu=0.0923(Ra)^{0.302}$ ($2{\times}10^4< Ra<2{\times}10^7$).

Al-6.2wt%Si합금의 리오캐스트 조직과 특성 (Microstructure and Characteristic of Rheocast Al-6.2wt%Si Alloy)

  • The effect of various thermomechanical treatments on the structure and rheological behaviour of Al-6.2wt%Si alloy in its solidification range were investigated using a Searle type high temperature viscometer. During continuous cooling, the viscosity increases gradually with increasing fraction of solidified alloy, until a critical fraction of solidified alloy is reached above which the viscosity sharply increases. The viscosity of the slurry, at a given volume fraction wolid, decreased with increasing shear rate. The size and morphology of primary solid particles during stirring is influenced strongly by shear rates, cooling rates, volume fraction and stirring time of solid. Morphological changes during stirring as a function of solid volume fractions, shear rate and processing time were also reported. In this study, the size of primary solid particles in these alloys consistently increases and the it`s aspect ratio decrease with the increase in fraction solid and decrease in shear rate. Crystal morphology changes from rosette type to spheroid type with the increase in shear rate and solid fraction.
