SPC 기판을 사용한 NVM 소자의 전기적 특성 (Electrical Characteristics of NVM Devices Using SPC Substrate)

  • In this paper, the p-channel poly Si thin-film transistors (Poly-Si TFT's) using formed by solid phase crystallization (SPC) on glass substrate were fabricated. And we propose an ONO(Oxide-Nitride-Oxide) multilayer as the gate insulator for poly-Si TFT's to indicate non-volatile memory (NVM) effect. Poly-Si TFT is investigated by measuring the electrical properties of poly-Si films, such as I-V characteristics, on/off current ratio. NVM characteristics is showed by measuring the threshold voltage change of TFT through I-V characteristics.

Fabrication of $TiO_2$ Blocking Layers for CuSCN Based Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells by Atomic Layer Deposition Method

  • For enhancement of dye-sensitized solar cell performance, TiO2 blocking layer has been used to prevent recombination between electron and hole at the conducting oxide and electrolyte interface. In solid state dye-sensitized solar cells, it is necessary to fabricate pin-hole free TiO2 blocking layer. In this work, we deposited the TiO2 blocking layer on conducting oxide by atomic layer deposition and compared the efficiency. To compare the efficiency, we fabricate solid state dye-sensitized solar cell with using CuSCN as hole transport material. We see the efficiency improve with 40nm TiO2 blocking layer and the TiO2 blocking layer morphology was characterized by SEM. Also, we used this blocking layer in TiO2/Sb2S3/ CuSCN solar cell.

Joining of Lanthanum Chromite and Yttria Stabilized Zirconia in Sealing of Planar Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

  • The planar solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC) contains several ceramic materials depending on its structure and has rdfractory metal parts for manifolds, shrouds and current leads. Among ceramic materials for planar SOFC, joining of lanthanum chromite separator and yttria stabilized zirconia(YSZ) electoyte in planar SOFC stack to give strong gas tight seals is necessary for satisfactory operation and high performance. Nevertheless, for planar SOFC/sub s/, how to seal the cell stack and gas manifold remains as one of the unsolved problems. Therefore, in this study. we investigated the joining of sintered lanthanum chromite and YSZ pellets using unsintered lanthanum chromite green films as sealent. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDX) revealed that Ca in the sealing material diffused and dissolved into YSZ and sintered lanthanum chromite, and unsintered lanthanum chromite green films reacted with YSZ to from a new phase at the interface. Also, the densification of unsintered lanthanum chromite green films was inpeded by the Ca migration.

  • This study presents analysis results for the hybrid system combining solid oxide fuel cell and gas turbine. Two different system layouts(an ambient pressure system and pressurized system) are considered and their design performance are comparatively investigated taking into account critical design factor, the most critical parameter such as turbine inlet temperature, gas turbine pressure ratio, temperature difference at the fuel cell and fuel cell operating temperature are considered as design constraints. Performance variations according to system layout and design parameters are examined in energetic view point.

HTPB계 고체추진제의 경화 특성에 관한 연구 (Curing Properties of HTPB-based Solid Propellants)

  • 본 연구에서는 일반적으로 사용하는 Hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)계 고체 추진제의 경화 온도와 당량비 변경에 따른 경화 특성을 고찰하였다. 또한, Triphenyl bismuth(TPB), Maleic anhydride(MA) 그리고 Magnesium oxide(MgO) 촉매 시스템에서 이들의 비율 및 함량에 따른 경화 반응 영향도 확인하였다. 마지막으로 추진제 혼화 시 각 공정 별 수분을 투입하여 수분이 추진제 경화에 끼치는 영향을 확인하였다.

The Effect of the Anode Thickness on Electrolyte Supported SOFCs

  • Planer-type electrolyte substrates are often utilized for stack manufacturing of electrolyte-supported solid oxide fuel cells (ES-SOFCs) to fulfill necessary requirements such as a high mechanical strength and redox stability. This work did an electrochemical analysis of ES-SOFC with different NiO-YSZ anode thicknesses to find the optimal value for the high performance of the fuel cell. The cell resistivities were constant at anode thickness between 25-58 ㎛, but a thick anode (74 ㎛) caused a high electrode resistivity leading to a dramatic reduction in cell performance. A stability test was performed for 50 hours at 700℃, and the results showed a degradation rate of 0.3% per 1000 h by extrapolated fitting.

  • It is well known that the Cu-Cr alloys are very difficult to be made by conventional sintering methods. This difficulty originates both from limited solubility of Cr in the Cu matrix and from limited sintering temperature due to high vapor pressures of Cr and Cu components at the high temperature. Densification of Cu-50%Cr Powder compacts by conventional Powder metallurgy Process has been studied. Three kinds of sintering methods were tested in order to obtain high-density sintered compacts. Completely densified Cu-Cr compacts could be obtained neither by solid state sintering method nor by liquid phase sintering method. Both low degree of shrinkage and evolution of large pores in the Cu matrix during the solid state sintering are attributed to the anchoring effect of large Cr particles, which inhibits homogeneous densification of Cu matrix and induces pore generation in the Cu matrix. In addition, the effect of undiffusible gas coming from the reduction of Cu-oxide and Cr-oxide was observed during liquid phase sintering. A two-step sintering method, solid state sintering followed by liquid phase sintering, was proved to have beneficial effect on the fabrication of high-dendsity Cu-Cr sintered compacts. The sintered compacts have properties similar to those of commercial products.

  • 고체전해질형 연료전지용 전해질로 사용되는 8mol% YSZ($Y_2O_3$ stabilized zirconia)의 소결조건을 변화시켜 이온전도도를 측정하였다. 그 결과 소결조건이 $1400^{\circ}C$, 10시간이었을 때 가장 높은 값인 $10^{-1}S.cm^{-1}$를 나타내었다. 또한 산소극재료로서 $La_{1-x}Sr_xMnO_3$($0{\leq}{\times}{\leq}1$)를 고상반응법으로 제조하여 과전압, 전자 전도도, 전해질인 YSZ와의 계면저항등을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 La에 대한 Sr의 치환량이 50mol%일 때 가장 우수한 특성을 나타내었다.

Solid-Phase Speciation of Copper in Mine Wastes

  • Ecosystems in the Keweenaw Peninsula region of Lake Superior, USA, were disturbed by over 500 million tons of copper-rich mine tailings during the period 1850-1968. Metals leaching from these mine residues have had dramatic effects on the ecosystems. Vast acreages of exposed tailings that are over 100 years old remain unvegetated because of the combination of metal toxicity, absence of nutrients, and temperature and water stress. Therefore, it is important to characterize and fractionate solid copper phases for assessing labile forms of copper in soils and sediments contaminated by the mining wastes. X-ray diffraction analyses indicate that calcite, quartz, hematite, orthoclase, and sanidine minerals are present as major minerals, whereas cuprite,tenorite, malachite, and chalcopyrite might be present as copper minerals in the mining wastes. Sequential extraction technique revealed that carbonate and oxide fractions were the largest pools of copper (ca. 50-80%) in lakeshore and wetland stamp sands whereas the organic matter fraction was the largest reservoir (ca. 32%) in the lake sediments. The concentrations of iron and copper were inversely correlated in the oxide fraction suggesting that copper may occur as a surface coating on iron oxides. As particle size and water contents decrease, the percent of the copper bound to the labile carbonate fraction increases.

  • The efects of mechanical aloying conditions and the type of reducing agent on the solid state reductionof haematite $Fe_2O_3$ have been investigated at room temperature. Aluminium titanium zinc and copper were used as reducing agent. Nanocomposites of metal-oxide in which oxide particles with nano size were dispersed in Fe matrix were obtained by mechanical alloying of $Fe_2O_3$ with aluminium and titanium respectively However the reduction of $Fe_2O_3$ by coppe was not occurred Composite materials of iron with $Al_2O_3$ and $TiO_2$ were obtained from the system of $Fe_2O_3-Al$ and $Fe_2O_3-Ti$ after ball milling for 20 hrs and 30 hrs respectively. And the system of $Fe_2O_3-Zn$ resulted in the formationof FeO with ZnO after ball milling of 120 hrs. The final grain sizes of iron estimated by X-ray diffraction line-width measurement were in the ranges of 24~33 nm.
