  • Fuel injection system greatly affects the performance of a direct injection diesel engine. A common rail injection system was introduced to satisfy the stringent emission standards, low fuel consumption, and low noise in recent years. The performance of a common-rail fuel injection system is strongly influenced by the injector characteristics. The common rail injector has evolved in order to improve its injection performance. The piezo-actuated injector is more suitable for common rail injection system due to its fast response and is expected to replace current solenoid-operated injector. In this study, nonlinear mathematical models are proposed for the solenoid-operated and the piezo-actuated injectors for control applications. Based on these models, the injection rate, which is one of the most important factors for the injection characteristics, is estimated using sliding mode observer. The simulation results and the experimental data show that the proposed sliding mode observers can effectively estimate the injection timing and the injection rate for both common-rail injectors.

솔레노이드 구동 수소인젝터의 성능특성 (Characteristics of Solenoid Actuated Hydrogen Injector)

  • The solenoid actuated hydrogen injector and the capacitive peak-hold type driving circuit were designed and made, and the hydrogen supply system for in-cylinder injection was constructed with these. The performance of the injector was investigated through measuring the pintle lift profiles and the injection quantities, and the performance of the hydrogen supply system was confirmed through the experiments at the single cylinder engine. The injection quantity increased linearly as the duration of driving signal increased. At the single cylinder engine, the hydrogen injector was operated stably. The hydrogen flow rate of the injector with the peak-hold type driving circuit could be controlled precisely at high engine speed or low load condition only with the variation of signal duration.

유닛인젝터용 고속응답 솔레노이드 설계 및 응용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design and Application of High Response Solenoid for Unit Injector)

  • Most of fuel-injection system operated with mechanical methods are difficult to control the injection quantity and injection timing as well as injection rate exactly. Moreover high pressure injection scheme is never be realized with conventional one. On the other hand, serious air pollution can be lessened with injection system equipped with those functions. Therefore, electronically controlled Unit Injuctor(UI) appeared to satify above mentioned desires. However, it is still difficult that the most important part, especially solenoid valve, is analyzed precisely, because of the existence of complex combination of electromagnetics, electrics and dynamic problems. In this study, experimental and theoretical analysis are accomplished for understanding of solenoid valve characteristics and further its design. As the result, the follows are obtained 1) As the increase of wire diameter, the response time became shorter and optimal inductance existed in relative with the response time and wire diameter. 2) According to increasing input voltage, the traction force increased, otherwise the response time was shortened. 3) As the increase of armature stroke, the traction force decreased and the response time became longer.

비접촉식 자동차 전장용 자기신호 측정 장치 (Development of a Non-contact Type Magnetic Signal Monitoring Equipment for Automotive Electric Devices)

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차의 전장용 자기신호를 측정할 수 있는 비접촉식 측정장치를 개발하였다. 자동차에는 솔레노이드, 릴레이, 모터, 인젝터 등 많은 자기적 에너지로 동작하는 액츄에이터들이 장착되어있다. 그러나 이 장치들은 커넥터로 모두 연결되어 있으므로 전선의 피복을 벗기지 않고는 동작여부를 확인하기가 매우 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 홀효과를 이용한 센서를 사용하여 비접촉으로 액츄에이터의 작동 여부를 판단할 수 있는 장치를 개발하였다. 개발된 장치는 비접촉식이므로 액츄에이터들이 동작상태에 있을 때 전선의 피복을 벗기지 않고도 작동 여부 판단을 쉽게 할 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 개발된 장치의 성능과 유용성을 보여주었다.
