  • This study analyzes the efficiency of a solar cell attached to an air circulation jacket. A commercially available silicon solar panel was selected and attached at four spots where the body angle was $40-60^{\circ}$ and voltage ($V_{oc}$, V), current ($I_{sc}$, A), and output power (P, W) were measured to determine the efficiency. The solar panel was applied to the outer jacket that operates with two fans to increase the convection that lowers the body temperature. The heavy work of standing, walking, and sweeping of a street sweeper was simulated in the field test. The microclimate within the jacket (with or without a fan) was measured and the subjective thermal, humidity, and comfort sensations were surveyed. SPSS 12.0 statistical package was used for a t-test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results show that the highest efficiency of the solar cell was at the incident angle of $60^{\circ}$ in terms of voltage, current and output power distribution. The microclimate temperature of the air circulation jacket decreased significantly with the high power of the fan and subjects felt cooler than the jacket with a fan at the incident angle of $60^{\circ}$. Air circulation jackets operated by a silicon solar panel showed a significant cooling effect on the wearers.

  • The measured solar radiation incident on tilted surfaces by all directions has been widely used as important solar radiation data in installing photovoltaic modules. To maximize the incident beam radiation, the slope, which is the angle between the plane of the surface in question and the horizontal, an4 the solar azimuth angles are needed for these solar photovoltaic systems. This is because the performance of the solar photovoltaic systems is much affected by angle and direction of incident rays. Recognizing those factors mentioned above are of importance, actual experiment has been performed in this research to obtain the an91e of inclination with which the maximum incident rays can be absorbed. The results obtained in this research could be used in installing optimal photovoltaic modules.

  • We measure solar currents transformed from quantum efficiency as a function of incident angles of solar lights. According to conventional models for solar cells, solar currents can be induced when electrons are separated into electrons and holes in the presence of incident solar lights. On the contrary, solar currents can be possible at the time when pinned charge density waves go beyond the pinning potential barrier under the influence of incident solar beams suggested by some authors. In this experiment, measured solar currents and our theory are in good correspondence to confirm the angle dependence of solar lights.

  • Hot air flow simulations of the wet station dryer module for the solar cell cleaning were conducted. Air incident angles such as to the substrates ($45^{\circ}$), to the bottom ($90^{\circ}$), and to the wall ($135^{\circ}$) were considered. Based on the simulated velocity and temperature profiles, appropriate incident angle was proposed, and it was well matched to experimental results. Additionally, uniform and non-uniform air hole sizes of the tube were compared for the uniform air flow distribution through the batch.

  • In this paper, optical deflection of laser scattering has been investigated based on Rayleigh criterion for crystalline silicon wafer in solar cell. A laser scattering mechanism is newly designed using light scattering properties in silicon wafer. Intensity distributions of laser scattering are different, depending on the incident angle of laser computed from Rayleigh criterion. In case of the incident angle satisfied with the criterion, they are asymmetric. Also, their specular reflection angle is shifted to unpredicted ones. These phenomena are in accordance with previous theories of laser scattering. The optical deflection of laser scattering is experimentally identified with the designed laser scattering mechanism. Its mathematical model is presented from the geometric relationship of laser scattering. It is shown that the optical deflection of laser scattering agree with the presented model, exclusive of grazing angles which is satisfied with Rayleigh criterion.

To maximize the incident beam radiation, the slope, which is the angle between the plane of the surface in question and the horizontal, and the solar azimuth angles are needed for these solar applied systems. To respond to above needs, a theoretical study with actual measurements on moving route of the sun is carried out. • A new model about output power prediction of PV module with various tilted angles and cell to cell distances has been proposed in this paper. Light intensity arrived on a solar cell could be changed by characteristics of PV module materials. Refractive indices, thickness and absorption coefficients of glass, EVA, solar cell and Backsheet are used to predict output. Also, the incident angle of light is changed 0 to 90[$^{\circ}$] and cell to cell distances are 5, 10 15[mm]. Two types of light incident on a solar cell are considered which are direct to a solar cell and reflected from Backsheet. The intensity of the incident light directly into the solar cell is reduced through glass and EVA about 17.5[%] in theoretical way. It has an error of 2.26[%] compared with experimental result. The results for compare theoretical with experimental data is validated within the error of 6.3[%]. This paper would be a research material to predict output power when the PV module is installed outdoor or a building.

  • In this research, the intensity of solar energy, which was injected to the different angle plane every hour day by day, was technically documented and quantitatively analyzed through actual observations. In order to group every days into days with similar intensity, graph was drawn with respect to time for every dary and each area value under the curve was calculated. Then, the search for grouped days having similar intensity curve patterns was carried out. In order to maximize the efficiency of solar energy systems, the optimum incident angle of absorber plate was derived.

  • In this study, we analyze the maximum power generation of photovoltaic(PV) module depending on constituent materials and incidence angle dependence of light. To verify characteristics of constituent materials, we made photovoltaic modules with 4 kinds of solar cells and textured glass according to fabrication method. To find the degree of the maximum power generation dependence on intensity of light, Solar Simulator is applied by changing angle of module and light intensity. Through this experiment, to obtain maximum power generation from limited PV modules, it is needed to fully understand constituent materials, fabrication method and dependence of incident light characteristics.
