A study on the Photovoltaic Tracker System Using Method of Intelligent control (지능형 제어기법을 이용한 태양추적시스템에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, 150W photovoltaic system using neural network tracker is proposed, the system designed as the normal line of the solar cell always runs parallel the ray of the sun. This design can minimize the cosine loss of the system output results of solar cell are sensitive to the change of weather and insolation condition don't react rapidly to parameter condition change such as system circumstance and deterioration. To achieve precise operation of photovoltaic tracker system using method of intelligent control, Neural Network is used in the design of the photovoltaic tracker system drive. The control performance of this system drive influenced by the environment parameter such as weather condition and motor parameter variations. we used synchronous motor in this tracker and the experimental results show that the fixing system shows 10,159[Wh] and tracking system shows 12,360[Wh] electricity.

  • Solar energy is most green and clean, unlimited and sustainable energy source on the earth. It is almost 97% of imported consumer energy in Korea. Because of resource poor nation, it is necessary to do their best to make alternative energy to allot their deficiency of the matter in hand of energy resources of petroleum. In a point of view of this problems, the natural solar energy should be improved by any methods as much, possible as we need. Photovoltaic generation with solar tracking system for obtaining optimal power is one of most benefit equipment to improve power of solar-cell panel producing clean electric power efficiently. Solar tracker is a device for orienting a solar photovoltaic panel toward the sun perpendicularly to sunlight, especially in widely separated place. For this reason, we are very interested in developing the equipment system of tracker, specially in solar cell applications, obtaining a high degree of accuracy to ensure that the optimal sunlight could be directed precisely against to the powered device. As a result, it was obtained of 12.46 volts at 90$^\circ$toward solar panel and 9.44 volts at 45$^\circ$, furthermore, improved efficiency more than 30% of average output voltage between tracker system (12.41V) and fixed system (8.55V), respectively. It is also very useful for optimum power system of widely separated cave.

  • The energy of CPV system is different as the altitude and azimuth of solar. In order to The maximum of solar energy density, the tracking system which does there to make be the module and the solar will be able to maintain a normal line is necessary. This paper proposed for GPS solar tracker of stand-alone 60[W] concentrating photovoltaic system. The position algorithm of solar tracker is through the coordinates transformation calculating the altitude and azimuth of the solar.

  • In this paper, I used microprocessor and sensor and designed to improve the efficiency of the photovoltaic system the photovoltaic position tracker device, and compared the normal photovoltaic system of fixed form with the photovoltaic system of solar position tracked form. Moreover, compared the catalogue of solar cell module and the simulation through a mathematics modelling with the solar cell's characteristic interpreting and, composed an power conversion system with boost converter and voltage source inverter. Used the constant voltage control method for maximum power point tracking in boost converter control and, used the SPWM(Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation) control method in inverter control.

  • For photovoltaic power generation need certainly decreasing module's price and increasing promote efficiency technology. Almost of solar panel is on the decrease energy efficiency since 2,000. like silicone(Si) solar panel, thin film solar panel and etc. Silicone(Si) solar panel was best efficiency in 1999. It's 24%. But after that time, It didn't pass limit of energy efficiency. That's why, nowadays being issued that using III-V compound semiconductor to high efficiency of concentrating photovoltaic system for making an alternative proposal. In Korea, making researches in allied technology with III-V compound semiconductor solar panel, condenser technology, and solar tracker. but feasibility study for concentrating photovoltaic power generation hasn't progressed yet. This thesis made a plan about CPV(Concentrating Photovoltaic)system and CPV has a higher energy efficiency than PV(Photovoltaic)system in fine climate conditions from comparing CPV with using silicone(Si) solar panel to PV's efficiency test result.

New MPPT Control Strategy for Two-Stage Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Power Conditioning System

  • In this paper, a simple control method for two-stage utility grid-connected photovoltaic power conditioning systems (PCS) is proposed. This approach enables maximum power point (MPP) tracking control with post-stage inverter current information instead of calculating solar array power, which significantly simplifies the controller and the sensor. Furthermore, there is no feedback loop in the pre-stage converter to control the solar array voltage or current because the MPP tracker drives the converter switch duty cycle. This simple PCS control strategy can reduce the cost and size, and can be utilized with a low cost digital processor. For verification of the proposed control strategy, a 2.5kW two-stage photovoltaic grid-connected PCS hardware which consists of a boost converter cascaded with a single-phase inverter was built and tested.

  • A standalone LED lighting system in using solar energy has been used usually less than 70W of lighting power because of a troublesome installation and maintenance. In this system, as more and more LED lighting power increases, the capacity of photovoltaic panel does proportionally, and to improve the charging efficiency of solar energy, MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) techniques is used frequently, but the solar tracker is not. In this paper, a solar tracker which traces the light of the sun in varying hour to hour is studied to apply to the standalone LED lighting system. This solar tracker consists of twin axis for tracing the azimuth and altitude respectively, and it has a robust structure with safe mode to stand a strong wind. As a result of analysis, generating efficiency of the traced type has improved on the fixed one 28.84% on average.

  • The energy of PV system is different as the elevation and aximuth of the sun. This paper deals with the economical position tracking system development for the stand alone PV system. We have made more economical solar position tracking system which is used a tracking program than other similar systems. It is applied to the solar lighting lamp. We have made a comparative study of the energy amount between the fixed type and the tracking type during some period. The improved efficiency of the system is about 86 %.

  • A photovoltaic system is an infinite and clean energy system. A photovoltaic system consists of a solar cell array, a converter, a inverter and a control unit. It is necessary that the Maximum Power Point Tracker(MPPT) is applied to the photovoltaic system because the output power of solar cell array is varied with irradiation, temperature and external effects. In this paper, the neural networks theory, one of the control methods, is applied to track the maximum power point of the photovoltaic system. The MPPT using neural networks theory is proposed to improve existing energy converter efficiency. Also the theory is applied to operation of inverter type airconditionig system.
