  • The types of installation of the photovoltaic system applied to domestic residential buildings are classified as follows: Mounted modules with air circulation, semi-integrated modules with air duct behind, integrated modules with fully insulated back. In order to study generation characteristics of PV system, we verified the validity of interpretation program based on long-term measurement data of demonstration house installed in BAPV form and also analyzed the generation characteristics and performance of each installation type. The results are as follows. First, the RMSE of amount of generation and simulation according to annual daily insolation of demonstration system located in Daejeon was 0.98kWh and the range of relative error of monthly power generation was -5.8 to 3.1. Second, the average annual PR of mounted modules was 82%, semi-integrated modules 76.1% and integrated modules 71.9%. This differences were attributed to temperature loss. Third, the range of operating temperature of annual hourly photovoltaic modules was -6.5 to $61.0^{\circ}C$ for mounted modules, $-6.0{\sim}73.9^{\circ}C$ for semi-integrated modules and -5.5 to $88.9^{\circ}C$ for integrated modules. The temperature loss of each installation type was -14.0 to 16.1%, -13.8 to 21.9%, and -13.6 to 28.5%, respectively.

  • The development of photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) technology has been introduced in recent years specifically to increase PV efficiency. One of the characteristics of PV systems is that the electricity generation increases as the solar radiation increases whereas the efficiency decreases because of high surface temperatures. Using a photovoltaic-thermal system, the surface temperature can be decreased by capturing the excess heat and the efficiency can be increased due to these characteristics. In this paper, three cases are introduced : 1) PV_r as the reference case, 2) PVT_a, which uses air as a heat source, and 3) PVT_w, which uses water as a heat source. Experiments were performed, analyzed, and compared to examine the effect of the PVT type on the efficiency of the system. The results showed that ETC($%/^{\circ}C$) efficiency of the PVT cases was increased versus the reference case due to decreasing surface temperature. Total efficiencies, which are electrical efficiency and thermal efficiency, for each PVT are tested and found to be 12.22% for PV_r, 29.50% for PVT_a, and 68.74% for PVT_w.

  • Approximately 520thousand elevators are operating now in Korea, about 40% ~ 60% of the elevator power is generated. In this paper, by using the method of adding regeneration power of the elevator to the grid-tied photo voltaic inverter, PV generation that was dependant on the solar radiation was significantly improved. In order to confirm this, the regeneration power of the elevator has been simulated in 12% of the rating load, and measured the regeneration power of the elevator in the actual condition to assess the differences of it. The 5[kW] hybrid grid-tied photo voltaic invertor has been fabricated to conduct an experiment for the confirmation of the proposing method. The effectiveness of the proposing method has been reassured with the result of experiment that include the transfer interface part of the regeneration power of the elevator.

  • This paper proposes a novel maximum power point tracking(MPPT) using a new fuzzy control(NFC) algorithm for robust in insolation variation. Maximum power point(MPP) of solar cell has to achieve for improving output efficiency because it is changed with insolation and temperature. Conventional MPPT controller such as constant voltage(CV), perturbation and observation(PO) and incremental conductance(IC) are researched. But these controller have the problem that is failure to MPP with environment changing. The proposed NFC controller is based the fuzzy control algorithm and able to robust control with environment changing. Also the proposed controller of PV system is modeled by PSIM and the response characteristics according to the parameter variation is compared and analyzed. The validity of this controller is proved through response results.

  • Purpose: Recently, renewable energy system has been widely used to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emission of building. A photovoltaic/thermal(PVT) system is a kind of efficient energy uses, which is combined with photovoltaic module and solar thermal collector. PVT system removes heat from PV module by through thermal fluid to raise the performance efficiency of the PV system. However, though PVT system has the merit of the improved efficiency in theoretical approach, there have been few performance analysis for PVT system using the dynamic energy simulation. In this study, in order to establish the optimum design method of this system, simulation was conducted by using individual system modules. Method: For the dynamic simulation, TRNSYS17 was used and local weather data was utilized. Furthermore, the system performance in various installation condition was calculated by case studies. Result: As a result, the amount of electric generation and heat production in each case was found by the simulation. The gap of system performance was also evident according to the installation condition.

  • In this paper, we composed of utility interactive pv generation system of voltage source inverter, and represented uninterrutible power supply (UPS) equipment maintaining constant voltage, using a pulse width modulation(PWM) voltage fed inverter, as power source disconnection, voltage variation and output current variation with load variation. This system is driven by being synchronized voltage fed inverter and AC source, and in the steady state of power source charge battery connected to dc side with solar cell using a photovoltaic (PV) that it was so called constant voltage charge. In addition, better output waveform was generated because of PWM method, and it was proved to test by experiment maintained constant output voltage regardless of AC source disconnection, load variation, and voltage variation of AC power source.
