Solar daylighting system provides free and comfort lighting, but its design and control has been key issue due to heavy light collecting system. One of the solutions for the heavy weight issues would be using a light framed film such as fresnel and prism lens. This prototype system consists of light collector, light transformer and light guide luminaire. The light collector which is installed at window or the rooftop concentrates solar light, the collected beam is converted to suitable light by the light transformer. and the prism light guide luminaire has been used to distribute light emitted from light transformer for illumination. In this paper, the design concept and performance of light collector in this prototype system are presented.
In line with the rapid economic growth of many countries, fossil fuel energy sources are also rapidly depleting. Therefore, the price is also rising rapidly, so it is necessary to develop new and renewable energy sources such as hydropower, geothermal power, nuclear power, wind power and solar energy to replace fossil fuel energy in the future. In this study, development of rotating concentrator module system, development of rotating module control control system, development of lamp and charge control controller, configuration and prototype production of rotating concentrating solar LED street light system, efficiency of rotating concentrating solar LED street light, and power production. The research was conducted in the order of evaluation of comprehensive performance tests such as consumption and consumption. As a result, the developed high-efficiency rotation-concentrating hybrid solar LED street light module system has a 50% higher light-gathering efficiency than existing products by tracing sunlight by self-developing a rotation-collecting module on existing solar LED street lamps according to the characteristics of Korea's topography. and the power generation was improved by more than 40%.
CF(Circular Fresnel) POF(Plastic Optical Fiber) daylighting system is a beam daylighting system utilizing solar direct beam radiation. In this study, a CF POF daylighting system has been introduced, developed and applied to KIER test buildings. The CF POF daylighting system consists of three parts: light collector, light transmitter and light diffuser. The light collector includes a Circular Fresnel lens focusing solar direct illuminance by sun tracking. The light transmitter contains the POF cable which has light transmission loss of 4.5% per meter. The light diffuser has about 80% diffuser efficiency. This study aims to evaluate of POF daylighting system performance. At the results of a CFPOF system performance evaluation, the theoretical CFPOF system efficiency was 41.9% and the actual CFPOF system efficiency at the KIER test building was 37.5%. The difference was due partly to the connecting efficiency.
The artificial increase in the solar intensity incident on solar cells using lenses or mirrors can allow solar cells to generate equivalent power with a lower cost. In application areas of Fresnel lenses as solar concentrators, several variations of design were devised and tested. Some PV systems still use commercially available flat Fresnel lenses as concentrators. In this study, we designed and optimized flat Fresnel lens and the 'light pipe' to develop 500X concentrated solar PV system. We performed rigorous ray tracing simulation of the flat Fresnel lens and light-pipe. The light-pipe can play imporatant roles of redistributing solar energy at the solar cell and increase the mechanical tolerance so that it can increase the lifetime of the high-concentration solar PV system and decrease the cost of manufacturing. To investigate the sensitivity of the solar power generated by the concentrated solar PV according to the performance of lens and light pipe, we performed raytracing and executed a simulation of electrical performance of the solar cell when it is exposed to the non-uniform illumination. We could conclude that we can generate 95 % or more energy compared with the energy that can be generated by perfectly uniform illumination once the total energy is given the same.

Recently, the energy has been used much more than ever, but there has been many problems including atmospheric pollution. So we need alternative energy resources, which are solar heat, solar light, wind power, small water power, etc. The field, which is most popular these days, is the energy source by solar light which transform electric energy using the solar cell and it is available with many researches. In this paper, we manufactured the solar power generation system over 90W using solar module which was 9.90V for Voc, 0.93 A for Isc, 8.64 V for Vmp, 0.75 A for Imp, 6.5 W for power. System was controlled by step motor with worm gear to operate optimum condition between $0^{\circ}{\sim}70^{\circ}$ angle. This system was very effective in tracking space use because it need less space than general solar module.

Knowledge of the solar radiation components and classified wavelength data are essential for modeling many solar photovoltaic systems. This is particularly the case for applications that concentrate the incident energy to attain high photo-dynamic efficiency achievable only at the higher intensities. In order to estimate the performance of concentrating PV systems, it is necessary to know the intensity of the beam radiation, as only this components can be concentrated, and The new PV cell can generate electricity from ultraviolet and infrared light as well as visible light. The Korea Institute of Energy Research(KIER) has began collecting solar radiation components data since January, 1988, and solar radiation classified wavelength data since November, 2008. KIER's solar radiation components and classified wavelength data will be extensively used by concentrating PV system users or designers as well as by research institutes. It is essential to utilize the solar radiation data as application and development of solar energy system increase. Consider able efforts have been made constructing a standard data base system from measure data.

Recently, metamaterials attracted much attention because of the potential applications for superlens, cloaking and high precision sensors. We developed several dielectric metamaterials for enhancing antireflection or light trapping capability in solar energy harvesting devices. Colloidal lithography and electrochemical anodization process were employed to fabricate self-assembed nano- and microscale dielectric metamaterials in a simple and cost-effective manner. We improved broadband light absorption in c-Si, a-Si, and organic semiconductor layer by employing polystyrene (PS) islands integrated Si conical-frustum arrays, resonant PS nanosphere arrays, and diffusive alumina nanowire arrays, respectively. We also demonstrated thin metal coated alumina nanowire array which is utilized as an efficient light-to-heat conversion layer of solar steam generating devices. The scalable design and adaptable fabrication route to our light management nanostructures will be promising in applications of solar energy harvesting system. On the other hands, broadband invisible cloaks, which continuously work while elastically deforming, are developed using smart metamaterials made of photonic and elastic crystals. A self-adjustable, nearly lossless, and broadband (10-12GHz) smart meatamaterials have great potentials for applications in antenna system and military stealth technology.
