Ga2Se3 층을 Cu-In-Ga 전구체 위에 적용하여 제조된 Cu(In,Ga)Se2 박막의 Ga 분포 변화 연구 (Ga Distribution in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Thin Film Prepared by Selenization of Co-Sputtered Cu-In-Ga Precursor with Ga2Se3 Layer)

  • The selenization process has been a promising method for low-cost and large-scale production of high quality CIGS film. However, there is the problem that most Ga in the CIGS film segregates near the Mo back contact. So the solar cell behaves like a $CuInSe_2$ and lacks the increased open-circuit voltage. In this study we investigated the Ga distribution in CIGS films by using the $Ga_2Se_3$ layer. The $Ga_2Se_3$ layer was applied on the Cu-In-Ga metal layer to increase Ga content at the surface of CIGS films and to restrict Ga diffusion to the CIGS/Mo interface with Ga and Se bonding. The layer made by thermal evaporation was showed to an amorphous $Ga_2Se_3$ layer in the result of AES depth profile, XPS and XRD measurement. As the thickness of $Ga_2Se_3$ layer increased, a small-grained CIGS film was developed and phase seperation was showed using SEM and XRD respectively. Ga distributions in CIGS films were investigated by means of AES depth profile. As a result, the [Ga]/[In+Ga] ratio was 0.2 at the surface and 0.5 near the CIGS/Mo interface when the $Ga_2Se_3$ thickness was 220 nm, suggesting that the $Ga_2Se_3$ layer on the top of metal layer is one of the possible methods for Ga redistribution and open circuit voltage increase.

  • In high-efficiency Cu(In,Ga)$Se_2$ solar cells, Na is doped into a Cu(In,Ga)$Se_2$ light-absorbing layer from sodalime-glass substrate through Mo back-contact layer, resulting in an increase of device performance. However, this supply of sodium is limited when the process temperature is too low or when a substrate does not supply Na. This limitation can be overcome by supplying Na through external doping. For Na doping, an NaF interlayer was deposited on Mo/glass substrate. A Cu(In,Ga)$Se_2$ absorber layer was deposited on the NaF interlayer by a three-stage co-evaporation process As the thickness of NaF interlayer increased, smaller grain sizes were obtained. The resistivity of the NaF-doped CIGS film was of the order of $10^3{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ indicating that doping was not very effective. However, highest conversion efficiency of 14.2% was obtained when the NaF thickness was 25 nm, suggesting that Na doping using an NaF interlayer is one of the possible methods for external doping.

  • The 'Amon-Ra' instrument of the proposed 'EARTHSHINE' satellite is a dual (i.e. imaging and energy) channel instrument for monitoring the total solar irradiance (TSI) and the Earth's irradiance at around the L1 halo orbit. Earlier studies for this instrument include, but not limited to, design and construction of breadboard Amon-Ra imaging channel, stray light suppression and system performance computation using Integrated Ray Tracing (IRT) technique. The Amon-Ra instrument is required to produce 0.3% in uncertainty for both Sunlight and Earthlight measurement. In this study, we report accurate estimation of the output electric signal derived from the orbital variation of radiant exitance from the Sun and the Earth arriving at the aperture and detector plane of the Amon-Ra. For this, orbital irradiance are computed analytically first and then confirmed by simulation using Integrated Ray Tracing (IRT) model. Specially, the results show the arriving power at the bolometer detector surface is $1.24{\mu}W$ for the Sunlight and $1.28{\mu}W$ for the Earthlight, producing the output signal pulses of 34.31 mV and 35.47 mV respectively. These results demonstrate successfully that the arriving radiative power is well within the bolometer detector dynamic range and, therefore, the proposed detector can be used for the in-orbit measurement sequence. We discuss the computational details and implications as well as the simulation results.

퍼지제어기를 이용한 반사경의 초점 위치제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Focus Position Control of Reflector Using Fuzzy Controller)

  • 본 논문은 태양과 반사경의 법선 벡터와 태양의 위치를 일치시키기 위하여 태양 궤적 추적 장치와 반사경의 오차 보정 장치를 설계하여 반사경의 법선 벡터와 태양의 위치를 일치시키도록 시스템을 설계하였다. 이렇게 설계된 시스템은 태양의 빛을 한 점으로 모을 수 있으며, 모여진 태양광을 광섬유를 통하여 원격지로 자연광을 보내어 유용한 광원으로 활용할 수 있다. 그러나 본 논문에서 제안한 이중화된 시스템의 제어기를 설계하기 위해서는 태양 궤적 추적 장치의 2축과 반사경 오차 보정 장치의 2축으로 구성되어 반사경의 법선 벡터에 대한 복잡한 상관관계가 존재하게 된다. 때문에 이러한 복잡한 방정식이 존재하므로 제어기 설계가 매우 복잡하게 된다. 그러나 본 논문에서는 복잡한 수학적 해석을 필요로 하지 않고 인간의 제어 해석 능력을 언어적 기법으로 표현할 수 있는 퍼지제어 기법을 활용하여 태양광을 하나의 정점으로 집광할 수 있는 시스템을 제시하고자 한다.

철도인프라용 태양광발전시스템 확대를 위한 기상정보 활용 발전량 예측 비교 연구 (Comparative Study to Predict Power Generation using Meteorological Information for Expansion of Photovoltaic Power Generation System for Railway Infrastructure)

  • 국내에서 태양광 발전설비 설계 시 설계 단계에서의 태양광발전소의 발전량 예측은 국내 현장임에도 불구하고 PVsyst, PVWatts 등 해외 발전량 예측 프로그램과 해외 기상 자료를 이용하여 발전량을 예측하는 경우가 대부분을 차지하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 기상정보를 활용한 발전량 예측 비교 연구를 위하여 현재 운영중인 2개 지역의 국내 태양광발전소를 대상지로 선정하였다. 발전량 예측 프로그램인 PVsyst를 활용하여 Meteonorm 7.1과 NASA-SSE의 해외 기상정보를 이용한 발전량 예측값과 국내 기상청 (Korea Meteorology Administration) 기상정보를 활용한 발전량 예측 정확성을 비교하였다. 추가적으로, 기상자료 비교 분석을 통한 발전량 예측 개선 방안을 연구하고, 최종적으로 실제 발전량과의 비교 분석을 통해 기후요소가 고려된 태양광 발전량 예측 수정 모델을 제시하였다.

독립형 태양광, 풍력, 소형발전기 복합시스템에서 안정적인 전력공급을 위한 컨트롤러에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Controller for Supplying Stably Power with a Stand-Alone Photovoltaic/Wind/Small Generator Hybrid Power Generation System)

  • The object of this paper is the controller for supplying stably power in a separate house in which a hybrid electrical storage system with a stand-alone photovoltaic/wind power generation system and a small generator is applied. In the photovoltaic/wind hybrid power system used in the separate house, when only the battery is used in sunless days, the capacity of the battery is become larger. In particular, as in recent days, if cloudy days are frequent due to anomaly climate, it is difficult to estimate the number of sunless days. Accordingly, it is preferable to build the electrical storage system that numbers of sunshineless days are to be controlled and a shortage amount of the power generation capacity is to be handled by a small generator system. In order to supply stably power of new renewable energy such as solar to any separate houses, it is preferable to reduce the capacity of battery by decreasing the number of sunless days when estimating the capacity of battery and to drive the small generator for compensation of the power shortage. Such system needs components including inverters for photovoltaic and wind power generation system, batteries and controllers for automatically driving the small generator, based upon the nature of the stand-alone house, and it is preferable to use the controller having a simpler and higher stability by adopting the all-in-one scheme to facilitate its maintenance.

빛의 조사 기간에 따른 세 가지 미세조류의 지질 함량 변화와 균체의 당화 전환율 비교 (An Analysis of Lipid Contents Produced from Three Different Microalgae Depending on the Lighting Period and Their Saccharification Conversion)

  • 본 연구에서는 빛의 조사기간을 변화시켜 세 종류의 미세조류(Nanochloris, Dunaliella tertiolecta, Tetraselmis)를 배양하고 이들의 성장속도 및 지질 함량을 분석하였다. 빛의 조사기간은 한국의 여름철과 겨울철의 일조시간을 반영해 각각 14.5시간과 7시간으로 설정하였다. 또한, 지질 추출 후 남은 미세조류를 당화시켜 포도당 전환율을 비교함으로써 미세조류의 바이오매스로써의 가능성을 가늠하고자 하였다. 실험 결과 D. tertiolecta가 다른 두 종의 미세조류보다 빛의 조사기간이 7시간일 때 최대 38% 높은 성장속도를 나타냈으며 지질함량은 최대 43.6% 정도 높은 결과를 보였다. 포도당으로의 당화 전환율도 D. tertiolecta가 최대 22% 높은 결과를 보였다.

전기자동차용 이중 게이트 구조를 갖는 전력 IGBT소자의 전기적인 특성 분석 (Analysis of Electrical Characteristics of Dual Gate IGBT for Electrical Vehicle)

  • 본 논문에서는 플래너 게이트 및 트렌치 게이트의 구조를 동시에 가지고 있는 1200V급 이중 게이트 IGBT 소자를 제안함과 동시에 전기적인 특성을 분석하였으며, 분석된 결과를 가지고 플래너 게이트 및 트렌치 게이트 IGBT 소자의 전기적인 특성과 비교 분석하였다. 이중 게이트 IGBT 소자를 설계하는데 있어 문턱전압 및 온 상태 전압 강하에 영향을 주는 P-베이스 영역에 있어 P-베이스에 깊이는 트렌치 게이트 소자 영역에 영향을 주며, P-베이스에 너비는 플래너 게이트 소자 영역에 영향을 주는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제시한 이중 게이트 IGBT 소자의 전기적인 특성인 항복전압은 1467.04V, 온 전압 강하는 3.08V, 문턱전압은 4.14V의 특성을 나타내고 있다.

Forbush Decreases Observed by the LRO/CRaTER

  • The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) launched on June 16, 2009 has six experiments including of the Cosmic Ray Telescope for the Effects of Radiation (CRaTER) onboard. The CRaTER instrument characterizes the radiation environment to be experienced by humans during future lunar missions. The CRaTER instrument measures the effects of ionizing energy loss in matter specifically in silicon solid-state detectors due to penetrating solar energetic protons (SEP) and galactic cosmic rays (GCRs) after interactions with tissue-equivalent plastic (TEP), a synthetic analog of human tissue. The CRaTER instrument houses a compact and highly precise microdosimeter. It measures dose rates below one micro-Rad/sec in silicon in lunar radiation environment. Forbush decrease (FD) event is the sudden decrease of GCR flux. We use the data of cosmic ray and dose rates observed by the CRaTER instrument. We also use the CME list of STEREO SECCHI inner, outer coronagraph and the interplanetary CME data of the ACE/MAG instrument.We examine the origins and the characteristics of the FD-like events in lunar radiation environment. We also compare these events with the FD events on the Earth. We find that whenever the FD events are recorded at ground Neutron Monitor stations, the FD-like events also occur on the lunar environments. The flux variation amplitude of FD-like events on the Moon is approximately two times larger than that of FD events on the Earth. We compare time profiles of GCR flux with of the dose rate of FD-like events in the lunar environment. We figure out that the distinct FD-like events correspond to dose rate events in the CRaTER on lunar environment during the event period.

Effects of the buffer layer annealing and post annealing temperature on the structural and optical properties of ZnO nanorods grown by a hydrothermal synthesis

  • The zinc oxide (ZnO) material as the II-VI compound semiconductor is useful in various fields of device applications such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), solar cells and gas sensors due to its wide direct band gap of 3.37eV and high exciton binding energy of 60meV at room temperature. In this study, the ZnO nanorods were deposited onto homogenous buffer layer/Si(100) substrates by a hydrothermal synthesis. The Effects of the buffer layer annealing and post annealing temperature on the structural and optical properties of ZnO nanorods grown by a hydrothermal synthesis were investigated. For the buffer layer annealing case, the annealed buffer layer surface became rougher with increasing of annealing temperature up to $750^{\circ}C$, while it was smoothed with more increasing of annealing temperature due to the evaporation of buffer layer. It was found that the roughest surface of buffer layer improved the structural and optical properties of ZnO nanorods. For the post annealing case, the hydrothermally grown ZnO nanorods were annealed with various temperatures ranging from 450 to $900^{\circ}C$. Similarly in the buffer layer annealing case, the post annealing enhanced the properties of ZnO nanorods with increasing of annealing temperature up to $750^{\circ}C$. However, it was degraded with further increasing of annealing temperature due to the violent movement of atoms and evaporation. Finally, the buffer layer annealing and post annealing treatment could efficiently improve the properties of hydrothermally grown ZnO nanorods. The morphology and structural properties of ZnO nanorods grown by the hydrothermal synthesis were measured by atomic force microscopy (AFM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and x-ray diffraction (XRD). The optical properties were also analyzed by photoluminescence (PL) measurement.
