  • The switching system software is large scale, real-time multi-task system which requires high reliability. The reliability assessment of large-scale software is very important for the success of software development project. For this raeson, the software quality measurement is much more important. In this paper, we have learned about the software reliability, metho of the analysis of failure data and estimation of software quality. To estimate the software reliability, using the failure data found during of the system test. We apply the two software reliability growth models, named Goel-Okumoto(G-O) and S-shaped model, to estimate the software reliability. Also, we compared with the results and we reviewed fully not only development cycle but validation and verification of the test data, for each software versions. This paper presents a software reliability model that suitale the software development project and the activeity of quality control for the switching system.

  • Background: Kinovea software that tracking semi-automatically the motion in video screen has been used to study motion-related tasks in several studies. However, the validation of this software in open field test to assess locomotor activity have not been studied yet. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of this software in analyzing locomotor activities. Methods: Thirty male Institute Cancer Research mice were subjected in this study. The results examined by this software and the classical method were compared. Test-retest reliability and inter-rater reliability were analyzed with Pearson's correlation coefficient and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). The validity of this software was analyzed with Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: This software showed good test-retest reliability (ICC=0.997, 95% confidence interval [CI]=0.975-0.994, p<0.001). This software also showed good inter-rater reliability (ICC=0.987, 95% CI=0.973-0.994, p<0.001). Furthermore, in three analyses for the validity of this software, there were significant correlations between two methods (Pearson's correlation coefficient=0.928-0.972, p<0.001). In addition, this software showed good reliability and validity in the analysis locomotor activity according to time interval. Conclusion: This study showed that this software in analyzing drug-induced locomotor activity has good reliability and validity. This software can be effectively used in animal study using the analysis of locomotor activity.

  • To assure quality of safety critical software, software should be developed in accordance with software development procedures and rigorous software verification and validation should be performed. Software verification is the formal act of reviewing, testing or checking, and documenting whether software components comply with the specified requirements for a particular stage of the development phase [1]. New software verification methodology was developed and was applied to the Shutdown System No. 1 and 2(SDS1,2) for Wolsong 2, 3 and 4 nuclear power plants by Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute(KAERI) and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited(AECL) in order to satisfy new regulation requirements of Atomic Energy Control Board(AECB). Software verification methodology applied to SDS1 for Wolsong 2, 3 and 4 project will be described in this paper. Some errors were found by this methodology during the software development for SDS1 and were corrected by software designer. Output from Wolsong 2, 3 and 4 project have demonstrated that the use of this methodology results in a high quality, cost-effective product.

  • The railway signaling system is being converted to the computer system from the existing mechanical device, and the dependency on software is being increased rapidly. Though the size and degree of complexity of software for railway signaling system are slower than the development speed of hardware, it is expected that the size will be grown bigger gradually and the degree of complexity will be increased also. Accordingly, the validation of reliability and safety of embedded software for train control system was started to become influential as the important issue. In this paper, we presented boundary value analysis tool for railway signaling system software, and presented its result of implementation.

  • The safety-critical software in healthcare systems needs more and more perceptive excess among human observation and computer support. It is a challenging conversion that we are fronting in confirming security in healthcare systems. Held in the center are the patients-the most important receivers of care. Patient injuries and fatalities connected to health information technologies commonly show up in the news, contrasted with tales of how health experts are being provided financial motivation to approve the products that may be generating damage. Those events are unbelievable and terrifying, however they emphasize on a crucial issue and understanding that we have to be more careful for the safety and protection of our patients.

  • Automotive systems have tended to be equipped with many electronic contents to satisfy safety, comport, convenience, and entertainment services over the past years. As a result, the amount of vehicle embedded software in electrical/electronic(E/E) systems is steadily increasing to manage these requirements. This leads to the traditional, document-based software development in the vehicle embedded systems being increasingly displaced by a model-based development in order to reduce software development time and cost. Due to the application of model-based development, a great evolution is being realized in the aspect of efficiency, but the development is being made without sufficient testing. So, erroneous automotive embedded software may cause serious problems such as car accidents which relate to human safety. Therefore, efficient methods for model-based test and validation are needed to improve software reliability in the stage of embedded software development. This paper presents the model-based development and test method for AUTOSAR embedded software to improve its reliability and safety, and it is demonstrated based on the case study.

  • In this paper, the service execution accuracy was compared by ontology based rule inference method and machine learning method, and the amount of data at the point when the service execution accuracy of the machine learning method becomes equal to the service execution accuracy of the rule inference was found. The rule inference, which measures service execution accuracy and service execution accuracy using accumulated data and pattern matching on service results. And then machine learning method measures service execution accuracy using cross validation data. After creating a confusion matrix and measuring the accuracy of each service execution, the inference algorithm can be selected from the results.

  • Optimization of seal geometries can reduce significantly the energetic losses in a hydraulic seal [1], especially for high head runner turbine. In the optimization process, a reliable prediction of the losses is needed and CFD is often used. This paper presents numerical experiments to determine an adequate CFD model for straight, labyrinth and stepped hydraulic seals used in Francis runners. The computation is performed with a finite volume commercial CFD code with a RANS low Reynolds turbulence model. As numerical computations in small radial clearances of hydraulic seals are not often encountered in the literature, the numerical results are validated with experimental data on straight seals and labyrinth seals. As the validation is satisfactory enough, geometrical optimization of hydraulic seals using CFD will be studied in future works.

  • The spacecraft simulator is used for command validation, operational check of the Satellite Operation Subsystem (SOS), spacecraft anomaly analysis support, satellite operator training etc. In this paper, S/W design features and modeling characteristics of the KOMPSAT Spacecraft Simulator Subsystem (SIM) are described. Validation procedures and simulation results are also provided. The SIM provides extensive simulation capabilities by including models for most of the spacecraft subsystems. The software structure of the SIM was designed and implemented so as to support operations not only in real-time but also in non real-time by utilizing the Hewlett Packard (HP) UNIX functions. The SIM incorporates as many user-friendly Man Machine Interface (MMI) windows as possible so that all the SIM normal operations can be executed through the MMI windows.

  • This paper presents the development and validation methods of the FUTURE (FUel cycle analysis Tool for nUcleaR Energy) code, which was developed for a dynamic material flow evaluation and economic analysis of the nuclear fuel cycle. This code enables an evaluation of a nuclear material flow and its economy for diverse nuclear fuel cycles based on a predictable scenario. The most notable virtue of this FUTURE code, which was developed using C# and MICROSOFT SQL DBMS, is that a program user can design a nuclear fuel cycle process easily using a standard process on the canvas screen through a drag-and-drop method. From the user's point of view, this code is very easy to use thanks to its high flexibility. In addition, the new code also enables the maintenance of data integrity by constructing a database environment of the results of the nuclear fuel cycle analyses.
