A Study on Comparison of Risk Estimates Among Various Exposure Scenario of Several Volatile Organic Compounds in Tap Water (음용수중 휘발성 유기오염물질의 노출경로에 따른 위해도 추정치 비교연구)

  • Risk assessment processes, which include processes for the estimation of human cancer potency using animal bioassay data and calculation of human exposure, entail uncertainties. In the exposure assessment process, exposure scenarios with various assumptions could affect the exposure amount and excess cancer risk. We compared risk estimates among various exposure scenarios of vinyl chloride, trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene in tap water. The contaminant concentrations were analyzed from tap water samples in Seoul from 1993 to 1994. The oral and inhalation cancer potencies of the contaminants were estimated using multistage, Weibull, lognormal, and Mantel-Bryan model in TOX-RISK computer software. In the first case, human excess cancer risk was estimated by the US EPA method used to set the MCL(maximum contaminant level). In the second and third case, the risk was estimated for multi-route exposure with and without adopting Monte-Carlo simulation, respectively. In the second case, exposure input parameters and cancer potencies used probability distributions, and in the third case, those values used point estimates(mean, and maximum or 95% upper-bound value). As a result, while the excess cancer risk estimated by US EPA method considering only direct ingestion tended to be underestimated, the risk which was estimated by considering multi-route exposure without Monte-Carlo simulation and then using the maximum or 95% upper-bound value as input parameters tended to be overestimated. In risk assessment for volatile organic compounds, considering multi-route exposure with adopting Monte-Carlo analysis seems to provide the most reasonable estimations.

  • In a software product line approach, developers first develop common software architecture and components by analyzing the characteristics of all software members, and then produce each application by integrating components. The approach is considered very effective means for developing and maintaining in parallel a software product family. Main disadvantage of this approach is that it requires a big up-front investment in preparing product line. Therefore, it takes time to deliver the first version. In this paper, we present an incremental method to develop software families, which requires small additional cost for initial versions and allows an organization to move smoothly to full-scale product line. We present our method by explaining how to record and upgrade the results of variations analysis, and show the application of our method by developing a family of YBS. Our method is a low-risk approach that can be effectively applied to an organization that starts developing software systems but has to deliver the first versions quickly to the market.

  • 프로젝트의 성공을 위해서는 프로젝트에서 발생하는 위험을 관리해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 위험관리 프로세스 개선을 위해 위험관리 국제모델과 SP모델의 위험관리 프로세스를 참고하여 프로세스 관점에서의 프로젝트 위험관리 대응방안을 제시한다. 실제 프로젝트에서의 위험관리 사례를 살펴보고 주요 위험으로 제시된 범위 및 이해관계자 측면에서의 위험식별, 분석, 대응전략 및 대응방안 실행을 통해 위험도가 줄어들 수 있음을 보인다.

  • Identification of reusable software components should guide user to come up with information about candidate components when a proper component is not found. Reusable software components which is able to confidential are a few risk and more effective than redesign or encode same components about each new application program. In this paper reusable processes are considered previously. Reusable model and the method for construction are analyzed for construction reusable components and reusable components which take this method are proposed. These problem will go far toward solving the design and coding of effective program.

Development of Convenient Software for Online Shelf-life Decisions for Korean Prepared Side Dishes Based on Microbial Spoilage

  • User-friendly software was developed to determine the shelf-life of perishable Korean seasoned side dishes in real time based on growth models of spoilage and pathogenic microorganisms. In the program algorithm, the primary spoilage and fastest-growing pathogenic organisms are selected according to the product characteristics, and their growth is simulated based on the previously monitored or recorded temperature history. To predict the growth of spoilage organisms with confidence limits, kinetic models for aerobic bacteria or molds/yeasts from published works are used. Growth models of pathogenic bacteria were obtained from the literature or derived with regression of their growth rate data estimated from established software packages. These models are also used to check whether the risk of pathogenic bacterial growth exceeds that of food spoilage organisms. Many example simulations showed that the shelf-lives of the examined foods are predominantly limited by the growth of spoilage organism rather than by pathogenic bacterial growth.

  • In this paper, we proposed a prioritization method of test cases using a value estimation model of test sets, that are key elements for highly effective software testings as well as involve a large cost factor in software developments and maintenances. Based on previous studies, our idea includes introducing some practical factors of the test case prioritization which critically influence the value of a test case: Relative values of test sets before and after the test running, Average value of these two relative values, Severity of the defect, Risks that are covered, Frequency of use, Change related values, Systematic elicitations, etc. Finally we discussed the usefulness and the expected effects of the proposed scheme.

  • 본 논문에서는 주거지역에서 철도 운행으로 발생하는 소음, 진동, 미세먼지가 거주민들에게 입히는 피해를 최소화 하기 위해 소음, 진동, 미세먼지의 수치 위험도 기준을 정하고, 아두이노 센서와 모듈로 스마트 창문 및 공기 청정기를 제작한다. 센서를 통해 수집한 데이터가 기준치를 초과할 경우 창문의 개폐 또는 공기 청정기 시스템이 작동을 하도록 구현하여 소음, 진동, 미세먼지 피해를 최소화 하도록 구현하였다.

  • 본 논문은 철도 건널목(교차로)에서 발생하는 차량, 보행자 및 야생 동물 사고 등의 상황에서 발생하는 위험 요소를 설정하고 철도 건널목(교차로)의 운행상황을 확인할 수 있도록 모형 철도 주변에 유형별 센서들을 설치하고 데이터를 인지하여 시스템에 저장하고, 유효한 데이터 분석을 통해 Orange3 머신러닝 기법을 적용한다. 철도 건널목에 관련된 이미지 중 위험인자로서 차량, 보행자 및 야생동물등의 객체를 감지하고 데이터를 수집하여 활용한다. 또한 이러한 데이터들은 이용자 상황에 맞는 철도 데이터 운영 시스템으로 적용할 수 있도록 위험 예측 시스템을 제안한다.

  • This treatise analyzed the risk of propylene transported by railroad through quantitative analysis. As a result of survey on propylene transportation route, Iksan station, Suncheon station and Jeonju station were selected as object regions those were expected to have high accident risks. This treatise deduced the scenario of accident and the occurrence rate in accordance with the type of accident possibly to be happening during propylene transportation through ETA( Event Tree Analysis), and expressed the level of personal, social risks after calculating the level of demage influencing over surroundings based on the evaluation for the expected accident damage through PHAST 6.53.

Experimental study on hydrogen behavior and possible risk with different injection conditions in local compartment

  • Comparing with the large containment, the gas can not flow freely within the local compartment due to the small volume of the compartment in case of serious accident, which affects the hydrogen flow distribution, and it will determines the location where high concentration occurs in compartment. In this paper, hydrogen distribution and possible hydrogen risk in the vessel under the different conditions are investigated. The results show that when the initial gas momentum is increased, the ability of gas enters into the upper region of the vessel will be strengthened, and the hydrogen volume fraction in the upper region of the vessel is higher. Comparing with horizontal source direction, when source direction is vertically towards upper space, hydrogen is more likely to accumulate in the upper region of the vessel. With the increasing of steam mass flow, the dilution effect of steam on the hydrogen volume fraction will be strengthened, while the pressure in the vessel is also increased. When steam flow is decreased, the hydrogen explosion risk is higher in the vessel. The experiment data can provide technical support for the validation of the CFD software and the mitigation of hydrogen risk in the containment compartment.
