  • Much research has been done using the KDDCup99 data set to study intrusion detection using artificial intelligence. Previous studies have shown that the performance of the SMO (SVM) algorithm is superior. However, intrusion detection studies of new intrusion types not used in training are insufficient. In this paper, a model was created using the instances of weka's SMO and KDDCup99 training data set, kddcup.data.gz. We tested existing instances(292,300) of the corrected.gz file and new intrusions(18,729). In general, intrusion labels not used in training are not tested, so new intrusion labels were changed to normal. Of the 18,729 new intrusions, 1,827 were classified as intrusions. 1,827 instances classified as new intrusions are buffer_overflow. • Background: Gastric and esophageal cancers are among the most lethal human malignancies worldwide. Of all malignancies estimated in Iran (47,100), gastric and esophageal cancers were responsible for 7,800 and 3,500 deaths in 2008 respectively. The present study aimed to provide an image of patho-epidemiological characteristics with their trends during two past decades with emphasis on topographic, morphologic, and some demographic features. Materials and Methods: In a hospital-based retrospective study in 2009, all pathological reports from esophageal endoscopies and gastric biopsies through a 20 years period (1989-2008) were collected and analyzed in four interval periods(five years each). Also, all eligible samples in hospital archives were enrolled for further testing. Besides, demography, topography and morphology of all samples were determined and analyzed by statistical software. Results: No significant statistical difference was seen in frequency of espohageal and gastric tumors throughout the study. Esophageal cancer cases were older than gastric. Sex ratio was 2.33/1 and men had a higher rate of both esophageal and gastric tumors. Stomach cancer included 64.3% of all cases. Inferior third and end of esophagus were common locations for esophageal tumors whereas proximal stomach was common for gastric tumors. Squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma were common morphological types of tumors in esophagus and stomach respectively. Conclusions: Morphological trends showed an increase of esophageal adenocarcinoma and diffuse/intestinal ratio in stomach cancers. Trends in incidence from gastric cancer decreased based on topographic studies but we could not find a topographical trend toward cadia.

  • A wireless body-sensor network (WBSN) refers to a network-configured environment in which sensors are placed on both the inside and outside of the human body. The sensors are much smaller and the energy is more constrained when compared to traditional wireless sensor network (WSN) environments. The critical nature of the energy-constraint issue in WBSN environments has led to numerous studies on the reduction of energy consumption of WBSN sensors. The transmission-power-control (TPC) technique adjusts the transmission-power level (TPL) of sensors in the WBSN and reduces the energy consumption that occurs during communications. To elaborate, when transmission sensors and reception sensors are placed in various parts of the human body, the transmission sensors regularly send sensor data to the reception sensors. As the reception sensors receive data from the transmission sensors, real-time measurements of the received signal-strength indication (RSSI), which is the value that indicates the channel status, are taken to determine the TPL that suits the current-channel status. This TPL information is then sent back to the transmission sensors. The transmission sensors adjust their current TPL based on the TPL that they receive from the reception sensors. The initial TPC algorithm made linear or binary adjustments using only the information of the current-channel status. However, because various data in the WBSN environment can be utilized to create a more efficient TPC algorithm, many different types of TPC algorithms that combine human movements or fuse TPC with other algorithms have emerged. This paper defines and discusses the design and development process of an efficient TPC algorithm for WBSNs. We will describe the WBSN characteristics, model, and closed-loop mechanism, followed by an examination of recent TPC studies.

  • Objectives: It was aimed to compare the cyclic fatigue resistances of ProGlider (PG), One G (OG), and HyFlex EDM (HEDM) nickel titanium glide path files in single- and double-curved artificial canals. Materials and Methods: 40 PG (16/0.02), 40 OG (14/0.03), and 40 HEDM (10/0.05) single-file glide path files were used in the present study. Sixty files were subjected to cyclic fatigue test by using double-curved canals and 60 files by using single-curved canal (n = 20). The number of cycles to fracture (NCF) was calculated and the length of the fractured fragment (FL) was determined by a digital micro-caliper. Twelve pieces of fractured files were examined with scanning electron microscope to determine fracture types of the files (n = 2). The NCF and the FL data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance and post hoc Tukey test using SPSS 21 software (p < 0.05). Results: In all of the groups, NCF values were significantly lower in double-curved canals when compared to single-curved canals (p < 0.05). For both of single- and double-curved canals, NCF values of HEDM group in apical and coronal curvatures were found to be significantly higher than NCF values of PG and OG groups (p < 0.05). In both of single- and double-curved canals, NCF value of PG group was found significantly higher than OG group (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Within the limitations of this study, HEDM glide path files were found to have the highest cyclic fatigue resistance in both of single- and double-curved canals.

  • A significant source of vibration in helicopters is the main rotor system, and it is a technical challenge to reduce the vibration in order to ensure the comfort of crew and passengers. Several types of passive devices have been applied to conventional helicopters in order to reduce the vibration. In recent years, helicopter manufacturers have increasingly adopted active vibration control systems (AVCSs) due to their superior performance with lower weight compared with passive devices. AVCSs can also maintain their performance over aircraft configuration and flight condition changes. As part of the development of AVCS software for light civil helicopter (LCH) applications, a test bench is constructed and vibration control tests and simulations are performed in this study. The test bench, which represents the airframe, is excited using a pair of counter rotating force generators (CRFGs) and a multiple input single output (MISO) AVCS that consists of three accelerometer sensors and a pair of CRFGs; a filtered-x least mean square (LMS) algorithm is applied for the vibration reduction. First, the vibration control tests are performed with uniform sensor weights; then, the change in the control performance according to changes in the sensor weight is investigated and compared with the simulation results. It is found that the vibration control performance can be tuned through adjusting the weights of the three sensors, even if only one actuator is used.

  • Recently, fieldbus communication technologies have been widely deployed for industrial automation because they are profitable in providing easy system integration and management for multiple devices, as well as high-speed communication. It is essential for smart encoders to support fieldbus connectivity, where the device configuration and various types of information related to position are exchanged between an external controller and multiple encoders over the communication link. In this study, we implemented the CiA 406 device profile for smart encoders from the CANopen standards by extending an open-source CANopen standard-compliant framework, called CanFestival. The CiA 406 functionalities implemented in this study were validated on a test-bed consisting of a CANopen master and virtual CANopen encoders with our CiA 406 extension module.

  • In IoT(Internet of Things), it is important for wireless networks to communicate data created among resource-constrained wireless nodes, where time synchronization is needed for meaningful data creation and transmission. Time Synchronization by flooding is one of the mostly used protocols for WSN(Wireless Sensor Networks). Even though this type of scheme has some advantages over other types (i.e. a simple algorithm and independency of topology and so on), too many data transmission is required, leading to large power consumption. So, reducing transmission data is an important issue for energy efficiency in this kind of networks. In this paper, a new Flooding-based time synchronization protocol is proposed to use energy efficiently by reducing a transmitted traffic. The proposed scheme's performance has been evaluated and compared with an representative scheme, FTSP(Flooding Time Synchronization Protocol) by simulation. The results are shown that the proposed scheme is better than FTSP.

  • Established microleakage tests have their own disadvantages. In this study, 3D reconstruction method was tried to overcome these disadvantages. Four types of microleakage tests were used and relationships among them were estimated: penetrated dye volume: marginal adaptability: degree of dye penetration and relative penetrated length to cavity wall. Twenty-four Class V cavities were bulk filled with composite (Esthet X) following surface treatments: N group (no treatment): E group (etching only): T group (etching + Prime & Bond NT). 50% silver nitrate was used as a dye solution after thermocycling ($5^{\circ}C{\;}&{\;}55^{\circ}C$, 1.000 times). Teeth were serially ground with a thickness of 0.2 mm. Volume of dye penetration was estimated from a three-dimensionally reconstructed image with a software (3D-DOCTOR). Percentage of margin without gap was estimated from SEM and degree of dye penetration and the relative length of dye penetration to overall cavity wall were also estimated. ANOVA and Scheffe test for dye volume, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test for marginal quality, Spearman's rho test for checking of relationships among methods were used. The results were as follows: 1. Dye penetration could be seen from several directions, furthermore, its volumetric estimation was possible. 2. Reverse relationship was found between dye volume and marginal quality (r = -0.881/ p = 0.004). 3. Very low relationship was seen between dye volume and two-dimensional tests (degree of dye penetration and relative length). However, 2D evaluation methods showed high relationship (p = 0.002-0.054) each other. 4. Three times vertical section could be recommended as a 2D test.

  • In this paper, we review digital certificate technologies and their applications in e-commerce. Current digital certificate technologies are evaluated and their importance is explained. The configuration of certificate flows from providers to users through software, hardware, and network technologies is described. These five domains and the configuration of digital certificate flows guide our review of the characteristics of digital certificates. We then develop a framework for the classification of digital certificates that integrate these five domains with VeriSign's types and levels of assurance. In order to demonstrate the adequacy of our digital certificate classification framework, we populated it with VeriSign's digital certificates. Within each domain, VeriSign's classes of digital certificates are classified in accordance with the VeriSign type and level of assurance. The results of our analysis suggest that the framework is a useful step in developing a taxonomy of digital certificate technologies. The strengths and weaknesses of the study are discussed, and opportunities for further research are identified and discussed.
