초등 수학 수업에서의 소프트웨어(Graphers) 활용 (Using an educational software Graphers in elementary school mathematics)

  • The graph unit(chapter) is a good example of a topic in elementary school mathematics for which computer use can be incorporated as part of the instruction. Teaching graph can be facilitated by using the graphing utilities of computers, which make it possible to observe the property of many types of graphs. This study was concerned with utilizing an educational software Graphers as an instructional tool in teaching to help young students gain a better understanding of graph concepts. For this purpose, three types of instructional activities using Graphers were shown in the paper. Graphers is a data-gathering tool for creating pictorial data chosen from several data sets. They can represent their data on a table or with six types of graphs such as Pictograph, Bar Graph, Line Graph, Circle Graph, Grid Plot and Loops. They help students to select the graph(s) which are the most appropriate for the purpose of analyzing data while comparing various types of graphs. They also let them modify or change graphs, such as adding grid lines, changing the axis scale, or adding title and labels. Eventually, students have a chance to interpret graphs meaningfully and in their own way.

요구사항 불확실성과 표준화가 소프트웨어 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향 : 한국과 미국의 비교연구 (The Impacts of Requirement Uncertainty and Standardization on Software Project Performance : A Comparison of Korea and USA)

  • Most software projects inevitably involve various types and degrees of uncertainty. Without proper risk assessment and coordination, software projects can easily run out of control and consume significant additional resource. Thus, risk management techniques are critical issues to information system researchers. Previous empirical studies of U.S. software firms support the adoption of development standardization and user requirement analysis techniques in risk-based software project management. Using data collected from software projects developed in Korea during 1999-2000, we conduct a comparative study to determine how risk management strategies impact software product and process performance in countries with dissimilar IT capabilities. In addition, we offer an alternative conceptualization of residual performance risk. We show that the use of residual performance risk as an intervening variable is inappropriate in IT developing countries like Korea where the role of late stage risk control remedies are critical. A revised model is proposed that generates more reliable empirical implications for Korean software projects.

  • Modern telecommunications are increasingly demanding the addition of complex switching features to switching system software. These improvements also should satisfy customer demands for quick provisioning of new service features. But whenever we have developed the switching system in various types, we met problems that are lack of system engineers and short developments terms. We need new guidelines of software design to meet the demands and overcome our problems. So we propose new software platform, scenario driven call control engine (SDCCE) for ATM switching system software and implement an effective call control software using scenarios for ATM Switching System. A scenario is a set of procedures and supplementary scenarios written in data structure and gives benefits to easy adapt new or modified function by adding a scenario. The goal of SDCCE is to increase reusability and readability of software. Especially, it gives a good software extensibility and maintainability. And when we developed ptmp call processing control software, we could get high productivity by reusing scenarios and procedures of ptp call processing control software. We applied the scenario driven call control software to ATM switching system.

수리계획 소프트웨어 LinPro의 설계 및 구현 (Design and implementation of mathematical programming software-LinPro)

  • This study addresses basic requirements for mathematical programming software, discusses considerations in designing these software, implementation issues facing in these types of applications development, and shows some examples of codes being developed in the course. This type of projects requires long and ever-changing evolutionary phases. The experience is therefore, valuaable in suggesting some useful hints which may be salvaged for similar projects as well as providing reusable codes. In particular, scanning and parsing the free-format inputs, symbol table management, mixed-language programming, and data structures dealing with large sparse matrices are indispensable to many management science software development. Extensions to be made are also discussed.

  • As the business has been highly informatized, many companies has bought the software for their works. There are two types of software license. One is a site license and the other is a user license. This paper is focused on the user license. User license has the number of the right to use software. So, software managers always need to know the number of licenses in use and should limit the number of software license in use. If someone in the company use a software without license, he will be treated as a piracy. In that case, the company should pay for the settlement cost for the exceeding license use. In this paper, we suggest the model how we can limit the installation of the software within the number of licenses by license management system.

로봇 소프트웨어 프레임워크 동향과 발전방향 (A Review and Outlook of Robotic Software Frameworks)

  • Robotic software has been dramatically complicated as performing intelligent service tasks. These types of robots demand a very powerful software framework to make them easy. Robotic software framework means an integrated software environment that simplifies jobs of robotic software engineer by providing tools, reusable components, and runtime environments. Finally it reduces the project cost. There are lots of works related with them. Among them we focus on five frameworks that are MSRDS, ERSP, OROCOS, OpenRTM, and OPRoS. In terms of intelligent service robot, the study on robotic software frameworks is very important. And outlook on them is also very important in the sense of that the robotic software frameworks should be used to initiate service robot market.

Challenges in Distributed Agile Software Development Environment: A Systematic Literature Review

  • Due to increasing interest in distributed agile software development, there is a need to systematically review the literature on challenges encountered in the agile software development environment. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, 32 relevant publications, dated between 2013 and 2018 were selected from four electronic databases. Data from these publications were extracted to identify the key challenges across the system development life cycle (SDLC) phases, which essentially are short phases in each agile-based iteration. 5 types of key challenges were identified as impacting the SDLC phases; these challenges are Communication, Coordination, Cooperation, Collaboration and Control. In the context of the SLDC phases, the Communication challenge was discussed the most often (79 times, 33%). The least discussed challenges were Cooperation and Collaboration (26 times, 11% each). The 5 challenges occur because of distances which occur in distributed environment. This SLR identified 4 types of distances which contribute to the occurrence of these key challenges - physical, temporal, social-cultural and knowledge/experience. Of the 32 publications, only 4 included research which proposed new solutions to address challenges in agile distributed software development. The authors of this article believe that the findings in this SLR are a resource for future research work to deepen the understanding of and to develop additional solutions to address the challenges in distributed agile software development.

Personality Characteristic-based Enhanced Software Testing Levels for Crowd Outsourcing Environment

  • Crowd-based outsourcing is an emerging trend in testing, which integrates advantages of crowd-based outsourcing in software testing. Open call format is used to accomplish various network tasks involving different types of testing levels and techniques at various places by software testers. Crowd-sourced software testing can lead to an improper testing process as if it does not allocate the right task to the right crowd with required skills and not choose the right crowd; it can lead to huge results, which become time-consuming and challenging crowd-source manager for the identification of improper one. The primary purpose of this research is to make crowd-based outsourced software testing more effective and reliable by relating association between the software tester, personality characteristic, and different levels of software testing, i.e., unit, integration, and system, in order to find appropriate personality characteristic for required testing level. This research has shown an observed experiment to determine which software testing level suits which personality characteristic tester in a crowd-based software testing environment. A total of 1000 software testers from different software houses and firms in Pakistan were registered to perform tasks at different software testing levels. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test is used to identify each tester's personality characteristic involved in this research study.

두 종류 치과 임플란트 캐드 소프트웨어의 사용자 편의성 및 만족도 비교 (Evaluating usability of and satisfaction with two types of dental CAD software)

  • 목적: 치과 임플란트 캐드 소프트웨어를 사용해 본 경험자와 무경험자에 의한 두 종류 캐드 소프트웨어의 사용자 편의성 및 만족도를 평가하는 것이다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 치과 임플란트 캐드 소프트웨어에 경험이 있는 20명의 치기공사와 캐드 소프트웨어를 사용해보지 않은 12명의 경북대학교 치과대학 학생에게 두 종류의 캐드 소프트웨어(ExoCad, Deltanine)를 이용하여 임플란트 맞춤 지대주(implant custom abutment)를 디자인하도록 하였다. 그리고 구조화된 설문지(1단계: 기본 정보 및 파일 불러오기, 2단계: 지대주 디자인 전 조건 설정, 3단계: 지대주 디자인 설정, 4단계: 전체적인 만족도)를 작성하도록 하였다. 수집된 자료의 통계분석은 Mann-Whitney U test를 사용하였다(${\alpha}=.05$). 결과: 4단계로 나누어 진 21개 문항에 대해 평가된 치과 임플란트 캐드 소프트웨어의 디자인 편의성과 만족도는 1단계의 두 문항에서 모두 Exocad 소프트웨어에서 유의하게 높았습니다. 2단계 및 3단계의 경우 경험이 있는 참가자는 Deltanine 소프트웨어가 훨씬 뛰어나다고 평가했습니다. 4단계에서는 두 문항 모두 Exocad 소프트웨어에서 높은 평가를 받았습니다. 결론: 2 종류 치과 임플란트 캐드 소프트웨어의 편의성 및 만족도 조사에서 Exocad 소프트웨어가 전체적으로 높은 평가를 받았다. 하지만 디자인 과정 중 핵심인 2, 3단계에서 유경험자는 Deltanine 소프트웨어를 높게 평가하였다. 따라서 그외 부분을 보강하면 Deltanine 소프트웨어는 임상에서 널리 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

온라인 소프트웨어 교육에서 학습자의 자기조절학습 관련 특성에 기반한 온라인 학습 유형 분석: 계층적 군집 분석 기법을 활용하여 (Investigating Online Learning Types Based on self-regulated learning in Online Software Education: Applying Hierarchical Cluster Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 온라인 소프트웨어 교육 환경에서 학습자의 자기조절학습특성에 따른 온라인 학습 유형을 파악하고 각 유형의 특징을 살펴봄으로써 보다 전략적인 온라인 소프트웨어 교육을 위한 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 K대학의 온라인 소프트웨어 교육과정에 참여하고 있는 K-12 학생 809명의 온라인 학습 로그 데이터로부터 자기조절학습 특성 변인을 추출한 후, 계층적 군집 분석 기법(hierarchical cluster analysis)을 활용하여 자기조절학습 특성에 따른 학습자 군집 도출 및 군집 유형에 따른 온라인 학습 특성과 학습 결과의 차이를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 온라인 소프트웨어 교육 학습자들의 자기조절학습 유형은 '고수준 자기조절학습형(군집 1)', '중수준 자기조절학습형(군집 2)', 그리고 '저수준 자기조절학습형(군집 3)'으로 나타났다. 온라인 자기조절학습 유형에 따른 학업성취도 수준은 '고수준 자기조절학습형(군집 1)'이 가장 높고, '저수준 자기조절학습형(군집 3)'이 가장 낮은 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 효과적인 온라인 소프트웨어 교육 운영을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.
