  • 온디맨드 소프트웨어 스트리밍은 OS의 가상 메모리 개념을 확장하여, 인터넷 서버를 통해 응용 프로그램을 실행시키는 기술이다. 응용 프로그램을 인터넷 서버에 페이지 단위로 인덱싱하여 탑재해두면, 사용자에게는 프로그램이 클라이언트 PC에 설치된 것과 동일한 효과를 가지며, 프로그램의 다운로드, 설치, 배포, 유지보수가 서버를 통해 한 번에 가능하므로, 기존의 소프트웨어에 관련된 여러 가지 문제점들을일거에 해결할 수 있다. 또한, 이 기술을 기존의 VOD(Video On Demand) 기술과 통합하면, 스트리밍 기술로 모든 인터넷 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 본 고에서는 온디맨드 소프트웨어 스트리밍 기술의 기본 개념과 관련 핵심 기술 동향, 그리고 이 기술이 가지는 파급 효과에 대해 소개한다. 또한, 전국민 서비스로확대하기 위해 수많은 동시 사용자를 지원하는 대용량 자원 분배 기술, 네트워크의 단절 시에도 운영 가능한 Evergreen 기술, 컴포넌트 소프트웨어에 대한 스트리밍 기술 지원, 리눅스를 비롯한 다양한 OS를지원하는 기술 등을 설명한다.

  • 본 논문은 에너지 빅데이터를 분석하기 위해 대용량의 시계열 데이터를 처리하는 시스템의 설계, 구축 방법을 제시한다. 이미 사용 중인 건물이나 공장의 에너지 효율화를 위해서 정부는 효율자원 시장 지원 사업을 수행하고 있다, 에너지 소비 설비에 따라 고효율 자원으로 변경 설치하는 데 필요한 자금의 일부를 지원하고 있다. 정부지원으로 고효율 설비로 변경함에 따라 실증 사이트에서는 측정 데이터를 수집하여, 효율화 정도를 파악하기 위한 에너지 데이터 분석 시스템을 구축하여 운영하였다. 해당 측정 정보는 IoT 전력량계를 통해 수집되며, 수집된 데이터는 클라우드 시스템에서 다양한 머신러닝 알고리즘에 적용되어, 에너지 소비 효율 평가에 필요한 성능 지표를 연산한다. 구현된 진단 시스템은 기축 건물의 에너지 효율향상 상황을 분석하는데 기여할 수 있다. 빅데이터 기반의 에너지 분석 기능을 사용하여 에너지 고효율 장비의 운영시간, 부하율 등의 효율성과 성능통계를 연산할 수 있다.

Selective HAVE Message Exchange for the Improvement of Live Streaming Performance in BitTorrent-based Mesh-Pull Structure (BitTorrent 기반의 Mesh-Pull 구조에서 라이브 스트리밍 성능 개선을 위한 선택적인 HAVE 메시지 전송 방법)

  • BitTorrent는 파일 공유를 위하여 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 P2P (Peer to Peer)프로토콜로서, Mesh-Pull 구조를 채용하여 라이브 스트리밍에 대한 연구가 꾸준히 이루어지고 있다. BitTorrent에서는 Peer Wire Protocol을 사용하여 피어들간에 파일조각들을 교환하게 되는데, 이를 위하여 주기적으로 버퍼맵 정보를 HAVE 메시지를 사용하여 브로드캐스트 하는데, 피어의 수가 증가할수록 이로 인한 시그널링 오버헤드가 크게 증가하는 문제를 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 극복하고 라이브 스트리밍의 성능을 개선하기 위하여 HAVE 메시지를 선택적으로 전송하는 방법을 제안한다. 실험을 통하여, 제안 방식은 기존의 BitTorrent 기반 Mesh-Pull 구조를 채용하는 라이브 스트리밍 방식과 비교하여 HAVE 메시지의 브로드캐스트로 인한 시그널링 오버헤드를 비약적으로 줄일 수 있음을 보였다.

A Study on the Digital Filter Design using Software for Analysis of Observation Data in Radio Astronomy (전파천문 관측데이터 분석을 위해 소프트웨어를 이용한 디지털필터 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a design method for a digital filter using software in order to analyze the radio astronomy observation data. Recently the analysis method for radio astronomy observing system is transferring from hardware to software by developing of state-of-the-art of computer system. The existing hardware system is not able to easily change the specification because it is implemented to meet special requirements and it takes a high cost and time. In case of software, however, it has an advantage to implement with small cost if open software is used, and flexibly changes to satisfy the desired specification. But, in order to analyze the massive data like radio astronomy with software, the good performance system is needed for computer. Therefore, this paper proposes a digital filter design method using software with the same performance as that of digital filter implemented with hardware in observation system which is operated by the KVN(Korean VLBI Network). To design a digital filter, the proposed method is performed with standard C language and the simulation is conducted with GNU(GNU's Not Unix) Octave and investigated to show its effectiveness. In addition, for the high speed operation of the designed digital filter, the SSE(Streaming SIMD Extensions) library is adopted for available parallel operation. By the proposed digital filter, the digital filtering is performed for the wide band observation data in the KVN observation mode, the filtering result of narrow band observation has no ripple inside of stop band, and confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Second, the video can be played in MP4 player and customize your chat, and customizing is a possible two-way Internet Broadcasting System. Third, CMS (Contents Management System) feature video contents and course management contents in real time via the Android phone and iPhone streaming service is available.

  • The MPEG immersive video (MIV) coding standard achieved high compression efficiency by removing inter-view redundancy and merging the residuals of immersive video which consists of multiple texture (color) and geometry (depth) pairs. Grouping of views that represent similar spaces enables quality improvement and implementation of selective streaming, but this has not been actively discussed recently. This paper introduces an implementation of group-based encoding into the recent version of MIV reference software, provides experimental results on optimal views and videos per group, and proposes a decision method for optimal number of videos for global immersive video representation by using portion of residual videos.

  • This paper presents the design of a broadcasting scenario and system for an 8K-resolution content. Due to an 8K content is four times larger than the 4K content in terms of size, many technologies such as content acquisition, video coding, and transmission are required to deal with it. Therefore, high-quality video and audio for 8K (ultra-high definition television) service is not possible to be transmitted only using the current terrestrial broadcasting system. The proposed broadcasting system divides the 8K content into four 4K contents by area, and each area is hierarchically encoded by Scalable High-efficiency Video Coding (SHVC) into three layers: L0, L1, and L2. Every part of the 8K video content divided into areas and hierarchy is independently treated. These parts are transmitted over heterogeneous networks such as digital broadcasting and broadband networks after going through several processes of generating signal messages, encapsulation, and packetization based on MPEG media transport. We propose three methods of generating streams at the sending entity to merge the divided streams into the original content at the receiving entity. First, we design the composition information, which defines the presentation structure for displays. Second, a descriptor for content synchronization is included in the signal message. Finally, we define the rules for generating "packet_id" among the packet header fields and design the transmission scheduler to acquire the divided streams quickly. We implement the 8K broadcasting system by adapting the proposed methods and show that the 8K-resolution contents are stably received and serviced with a low delay.

A Study on Optimum Coding Method for Correlation Processing of Radio Astronomy (전파천문 상관처리를 위한 최적 코딩 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the optimum coding method is proposed by using open library in order to improve the performance of a software correlator developed for Korea-Japan Joint VLBI Correlator(KJJVC). The correlation system for VLBI observing system is generally implemented with hardware using ASIC or FPGA because the computational quantity is increased geometrically according to the participated observatory number. However, the software correlation system is recently constructed at a massive server such as a cluster using software according to the development of computing power. Since VLBI correlator implemented with hardware is able to conduct data processing with real-time or quasi real-time compared with mostly observational time, software correlation has to perform optimal data processing in coding work so as to have the same performance as that of the hardware. Therefore, in this paper, the experimental comparison was conducted by open-source based fftw library released in FFT processing stage, which is the most important part of the correlator system for performing optimum coding work in software development phase, such as general method using fftw library or methods using SSE(Streaming SIMD Extensions), shared memory, or OpenMP, and method using merged techniques listed above. Through the experimental results, the proposed optimum coding method for improving the performance of developed software correlator using fftw library, shared memory and OpenMP is effectively confirmed by reducing correlation time compared with conventional method.

  • Globally, the prolonged pandemic of COVID-19 (COVID-19) has had a great impact on all industries. In particular, in the field of education, online classes (non-face-to-face) had some negative perceptions of online classes, such as lack of preparation for learning and student dissatisfaction with the class. According to the current situation survey in 2020, non-face-to-face classes accounted for about 56% of the class, and streaming real-time classes and video content-based classes accounted for most of the class. This study empirically analyzes the problems to be solved by online classes through the 2020-2021 survey (software application practical class university students), and explains the detailed program and development plan (implementation result). This study intends to contribute to the development of online learning development of each educational institution after the end of the corona crisis.
