연자성 복합체에서 파우더 크기 분포와 Epoxy Resin에 따른 Packing Density 변화 (The Variation of Packing Density According to Powder Size Distribution and Epoxy Resin in Soft Magnetic Composite)

  • There is growing interest in power inductors in which metal soft magnetic powder and epoxy resin are combined. In this field, the process technology for increasing the packing density of magnetic particles in an injection molding process is very important. However, little research has been reported in this regard. In order to improve the packing density, we investigated and compared the sedimentation heights of pastes for three types of soft magnetic alloy powders as a function of the mixing ratios and the type of resin used. Experimental results showed that the packing density was the highest (71.74%) when the mixing ratio was 80 : 16 : 4 (Sendust : Fe-S : CIP) according to the particle size using an SE-4125 resin. In addition, the packing density was found to be inversely related to the layer separation distance. As a result, it was confirmed that the dispersion of solid particles in the paste was important for curing; however, the duration of the curing process can greatly affect the packing density of the final composite.

  • Innovative SMC with low iron loss was made from iron powders with evaporated MgO insulation coating. The coating had greater heat-resistance than conventional phosphatic insulation coating, which enabled stress relieving annealing at higher temperature. Magnetic properties of toroidal samples (OD35mm,ID25mm, t5) were examined. The iron loss at 50Hz for Bm = 1.5T was lower 50% of conventional SMC and was almost the same with silicon iron laminations(t0.35). It became clear that MgO insulation coating has enough heat resistance and adhesiveness to powdersurface to obtain innovative SMC with low iron loss.

  • Two axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) machines using soft magnetic composite (SMC) and lamination steel are studied. Generally stator cores of AFPM machines are manufactured using SMC because AFPM machines need 3 dimensional core structures. However, SMC cores have very disadvantages in magnetic properties. Especially permeability value is much lower than that of lamination steel, so magnetic field density is also lower. In terms of core losses, SMC cores have much larger loss values than lamination steel cores because SMC core can't be laminated. In this study, AFPM machine was designed using laminated steel, and iron losses in two machines using SMC and laminated steel were studied. Simulations were carried out by a commercial 3-D FEM tool.

  • Influences of machining on magnetic properties of soft magnetic composites (SMC's) with addition of two kinds of binder, i.e., organic binder and inorganic one, were investigated. Machining does not affect DC magnetic properties of the SMC compacts. This can be ascribed to their particular structure in which the ironpowder particles are highly isolated by the binder. On the other hand, decrease in resistivity and resultant increase in eddy current loss was confirmed in the machined compacts containing inorganic binder. It is supposed that the brittleadditive binder existing between the iron particles is partly broken, and iron-to-iron contact is formed on the machined surface.

  • 분말 야금 기술에 의한 복합 연자성 재료는 전기기기에 일반적으로 사용되는 종래의 전기강판보다 많은 장점을 가지고 있으며, 그 관련 기술은 최근에 상당한 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 복합 연자성 재료는 일반적으로 분말의 형태로 인해 자기적 등방성 가지므로 3차원 자속 및 복잡한 구조의 전기기기 구성에 적합하다. 하지만 SMC와 같이 등방성 자기 특성을 가지는 재료는 복잡한 벡터 히스테리시스를 가지므로 정확한 손실 특성을 예측하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전기강판 및 SMC의 링 타입 시편을 제작하고 시편 크기에 따라 자기적 특성을 측정한 후, 측정된 자기적 정보를 이용하여 800Hz 이상에서 구동하는 고속 영구자석 전동기의 전자계 해석을 수행하였다. 또한, 해당 모델의 시작품을 제작하고 효율 측정 및 비교를 통해 본 논문의 신뢰성을 입증하였다.

  • 폴리(아미드-이미드)와 연자성체의 블렌딩에 의해 고온에서 이용 가능한 내열성 전자기 노이즈 흡수용 필름을 제조하였다. N,N-디메틸아세트아미드에 폴리(아미드 아믹 산)을 용해시킨 후 연자성체 파우더를 혼합하고 이용액을 유리 기판에 캐스팅한 뒤 열을 가하여 이미드화하는 방법으로 전자기 노이즈 흡수 필름을 제조하였다. 제조된 필름의 열적 특성, 열 안정성 및 기계적 성질을 분석하고 마이크로 스트립 라인 법에 의해 전자기 흡수력을 측정하였는데,1 GHz에서 150 ${\mu}m$두께의 복합체 필름의 전력손실(power loss)은 약 25%였다.

철계 연자성 합금 분말을 함유한 고무 복합재의 전파흡수특성 (Microwave Absorbing Properties of Rubber Composites Containing Soft Magnetic Fe-Alloy Particles)

  • Magnetic and dielectric properties of rubber composites are controlled by using two kinds of high-permeability metal particles with different electrical conductivity (Sendust, Permalloy), and their effect on microwave absorbance has been investigated, focusing on the quasi-microwave frequency band (0.8-2 GHz). Noise absorbing sheets are composite materials of magnetic flake particles of high aspect ratio dispersed in polymer matrix with various filler amount of 80-90 wt.%. The frequency dispersion and magnitude of complex permeability is almost the same for Sendust and Permalloy composite specimens. However, the complex permittivity of the Permalloy composite (${{\varepsilon}_r}^{\prime}{\simeq}250$, ${{\varepsilon}_r}^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\simeq}50$) is much greater than that of Sendust composite (${{\varepsilon}_r}^{\prime}{\simeq}70$, ${{\varepsilon}_r}^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\simeq}0$). Due to the large dielectric permittivity of Permalloy composite, the absorbing band is shifted to lower frequency region. However, the investigation of impedance matching reveals that the magnetic permeability is still small to satisfy the zero-reflected condition at the quasi-microwave frequency band, resulting in a small microwave absorbance lower than 10 dB.

Fe-Si 전기강판 폐스크랩을 이용한 연자성 분말 및 테이프 제조기술 (Manufacturing Technology for Tape Casting and Soft Magnetic Powder Using by Recycling Scrap of Fe-Si Electrical Sheet)

  • This study focused on examining the possibility for recycling of Fe-Si electric sheet. We manufactured Fe-6.5Si mother alloy using by Fe-Si electric sheet scrap for transformer core materials. And then, soft magnetic alloy powder which diameter and shape were $45{\sim}150{\mu}m$ and sphere type was prepared by gas atomization process. As we compared to commercial Fe-6.5Si powder, its diameter distribution and microstructure of recycled powder was a similar. To investigate the possibility of reusing the soft magnetic composite sheet for electronics, recycled powder was treated to have a high aspect ratio (AR), and we finally obtained the 65~66 AR and $2.3{\mu}m$ thickness powder. To release the residual stress of powder, heat treatment was conducted under $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$, $N_2$ gas. And then, soft magnetic sheet was made by tape casting process using by those powders. After the density and permeability of tape was measured, and we confirmed that the recycled Fe-Si electric sheet scrap was possible to reuse the soft magnetic materials of electronics.

기계적합금화에 의한 Fe2O3-Mg계 연자성 콤포지트의 합성 및 평가 (Synthesis and characterization of soft magnetic composite in Fe2O3-Mg system by mechanical alloying)

  • 본 연구에서는 $Fe_2O_3$-Mg계 혼합분말을 사용하여 연자성 복합재료를 제조하기 위하여 기계적 합금화법(MA)을 적용하였다. 초미세 조직을 가진 연자성 ${\alpha}$-Fe/MgO 복합재료를 얻기 위하여 X선 회절, 열분석 및 자기특성 측정을 통하여 최적 볼밀조건 및 열처리 조건을 조사하였다. $Fe_2O_3$와 순금속 Mg의 혼합분말을 30분 동안 MA 처리한 결과. ${\alpha}$-Fe 기지에 MgO가 분산된 ${\alpha}$-Fe/MgO 복합분말을 얻을 수 있었다. MA 분말시료의 자화값은 볼밀처리 시간에 따라 증가하여 MA 5시간 시료에서 69.5 emu/g의 최대값이 관찰되었다. 또한 MA 처리에 의하여 ${\alpha}$-Fe의 결정립 미세화와 함께 보자력이 증가하는 자기경화 현상이 관찰되었다. MA 분말시료의 벌크화를 위하여 소결온도 $800{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$, 압력 60 MPa에서 SPS 소결을 실시하였다. X선 회절 결과로부터, 5시간 MA 처리한 분말을 $800^{\circ}C$에서 SPS 소결시킨 ${\alpha}$-Fe/MgO 연자성 복합재료의 경우 ${\alpha}$-Fe상 평균 결정립 크기가 110 nm임을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper deals with an design of axial flux electric machine which is a key element for a compact size in a portable and manual generator system. It is expected that the generator system with an axial flux electric machine is more light and has higher efficiency than other types of generator systems. And it is used the soft magnetic composite core instead of silicon steel core in the axial flux electric machine for more compact size. The weight and efficiency of the generator system are the main keys to select the value of design variables. In this paper, the overall design process to meet the design goals, and the design results are presented with experiment results.
