맹종죽(Phyllostachys pubescens)의 소다 안트라퀴논 펄핑 특성 및 이산화염소 표백 특성 (Soda-Anthraquinone Pulping and Chlorine Dioxide Bleaching Properties from Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens))

  • Moso Bamboo was investigated as the a raw material for pulp and paper industry. Soda-Anthraquinone (Soda-AQ) pulping, elemental chlorine free bleaching was applied. Yield of soda or soda-AQ pulp was 29.3-31.7% with Kappa number 33.0-22.8 with different cooking time or anthraquinone addition at 20% active alkali. In soda or soda-AQ pulping, 81-86% of xylan was removed, which was the main reason for lower pulp yield than hardwood species. Average fiber length of Moso Bamboo soda-AQ pulp was 1.36 mm with $15.5{\mu}m$ fiber width. Soda-AQ pulp from Moso Bamboo (P-3, lowest Kappa pulp) was bleached with 5.5-6.5% of chlorine dioxide charge as D0ED1 bleaching sequence. In 3-stages ECF bleaching, final brightness of 85.3% ISO was achieved with total chlorine dioxide 6.5%.

아프리카 튤립으로 제조한 soda 및 soda-AQ 펄프의 특성 (Soda and Soda-AQ Pulps Properties from African Tulip Tree)

  • To use the African tulip tree (Spathodea campanulata) as raw material for chemical pulping, soda and soda-AQ pulping was investigated. In chemical compositional analysis, lignin contents of African tulip (33.1%) was higher than other hardwood such as Yellow poplar (17.5%), Acacia (27.1%), or Eucalyptus (24.2%). Soda or soda-AQ pulping with African tulip tree resulted in yield at 43.4-44.8% with 29.5-34.5 Kappa number, pulping condition with 20-22% active alkali. Kappa number of African tulip tree pulp was quite higher than other tropical hardwood (Eucalyptus or Accacia) with less yield due to higher lignin content in wood. Fiber length and width of pulp from African tulip tree was similar to Accacia pulp and shorter than eucalyptus pulp.

대나무를 이용한 각종 화학펄프 제조에 관한 연구 (Studies on the production of Various Chemical Pulps from Bamboo)

  • This study was carried out to acquire basic data necessary for the use of non-wood pulp. It investigated various chemical pulping methods using bamboo to achieve higher yield lower kappa no. and then the physical properties of various pulps were tested. The results of this study were as follows. When various chemical pulps(Soda, Soda-AQ, Soda-AQ-H2O2, Soda-urea, AS, AS-AQ, Kraft) were produced with bamboo. the pulps with the higher yield and lower kappa no. were AS-AQ and Kraft. In the case of the breaking length Soda pulps(5.77∼6.46 km) showed the greatest and Soda-urea pulps(3.81∼4.522km) showed the lower value. Similarly for the burst index Soda pulps (3.28∼3.50 kPa$.$m2/g) were the best and Soda-urea pulps(2.29∼2.39 kPa$.$m2/g) were worst. On the other hand the tearing indexes of AS-AQ pulps(73.6∼89.7mN$.$m2/g) showed the tendency which was higher then those of other pulps.

  • 이 논문은 SDR 시스템용으로 개발된 기저대역 프로세서인 SODA-II를 활용하는데 필요한 프로그래밍 모델에 대한 것이다. SODA-II는 4개의 프로세서로 구성되는 멀티코어 시스템으로 한 코어에는 SIMD 데이터패스와 직렬 데이터패스가 모두 구현되어 있어 벡터 연산과 직렬 연산이 혼재하는 기저대역 신호처리 동작에 적합하다. SODA-II에 대한 프로그래밍 모델은 C 언어 라이브러리 형태를 가진다. 라이브러리 함수가 SODA-II의 SIMD 데이터패스를 구동시키는데 필요한 세부적인 제어동작을 모두 처리하므로 사용자는 SIMD 데이터패스 구조에 대한 자세한 이해 없이 기저대역 신호처리 알고리즘을 구현할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 기저대역 신호처리의 핵심 연산들이 SODA-II에서 어떤 형태로 구현되는지 설명하고 응용의 예로 W-CDMA 다중 경로 탐색기와 OFDM 복호기 동작을 SODA-II에서 구현한 결과를 살펴본다.

국내산 주요 죽종의 소다 및 소다-안트라퀴논 펄핑 특성 비교 (Elucidating soda and soda-anthraquinone pulping characteristics of Korean bamboo species)

  • As a raw material for pulp and paper industry, Moso bamboo, Timber bamboo and Henon bamboo pulps were prepared by soda or soda-anthraquinone(Soda-AQ) pulping process. Soda-AQ pulp yields was higher in Henon bamboo (43.2%) than in Moso bamboo or Timber bamboo (32.7-39.2%), but quite lower than hardwood species. In Kappa number comparison, Henon bamboo pulp showed lower (16.6) with 50 min cooking to $170^{\circ}C$ than that of Moso bamboo (22.8) and Timber bamboo (18.9) with 90 min cooking to $170^{\circ}C$. Fiber length of Timber bamboo soda pulp had higher (1.46 mm) than that of Moso bamboo or Henon bamboo (1.18-1.36 mm). All three bamboo pulps showed longer average fiber length than commercial hardwood pulp. With higher pulp yield and lower Kappa number, Henon bamboo is better raw material for pulp than Moso bamboo and Timber bamboo.

고수율 및 저카파가의 볏짚화학펄프 제조방법 개발 (Development of Pulping Methods of Rice-straw Chemical Pulp with Higher Yield and Lower Kappa Number)

  • This study was carried out to acquire basic data necessary for the use of non-wood pulp. Various chemical pulping methods for rice straw to achieve higher yield, lower Kappa No. were investigated and then the physical properties of various pulps were tested. The results of this study were as follows: When various chemical pulps (Soda, Soda-AQ, Soda-$H_2O_2$, Soda-$Na_2S_2$, AS, AS-AQ, AS-$Na_2S_2O_3$, AS-$Na_2S_2O_4$, Kraft) were produced with rice-straw, the pulps with the highest yield and lowest Kappa No. were obtained with Soda-$Na_2S_2$and AS-$Na_2S_2O_4$pulps. For the breaking length, Soda and Soda-additive pulps(7.5~9.2km) were better than AS and AS-additive pulps(6.2~8.1km). Similarly, for the burst index, Soda and Soda-additive pulps(6.0~7.0 kPa.$m^2$/g) were better than AS and AS-additive pulps(4.5~6.3 kPa.m$^2$/g). But the tear index was showed 21.8-30.9 mN.$m^2$/g with a little different between pulping methods.

De-soda Process Using Silica for Fabrication of Low Soda Alumina Powder

  • Low soda alumina powder was fabricated using silica (${\alpha}$-quartz) as an agent for removing soda components in the alumina. Quartz powder 2 mm in size was added to aluminum hydroxide obtained through the Bayer process, and then the mixture was heated at various temperatures. Finally, the heat-treated powders were sieved for classification. In this study, the effects of the quartz amount and heating temperature on the mechanism of removing soda were examined. A minimum soda content of 0.005 wt% was observed at the conditions of 15 wt% quartz (based on $Al(OH)_3$ amount) heat-treated at $1600^{\circ}C$ for 8 h. The soda components, such as $Na_2O$, NaOH, and $Na_2CO_3$, in alumina were ionized and activated at high temperature, and this facilitated the reaction with quartz silica and alumina producing nepheline. The advantages of using quartz include low iron content and low cost in comparison with the conventional de-soda process using chamotte, another silicate mineral.

세척시 알칼리에 의한 면섬유의 손상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Alkaline Degradation of Cotton Fabric in Washing)

  • This study was carried out to compare the effect of caustic soda with the effect of caustic potash on cotton fabric. Instead of caustic potash, sodium carbonate similar in chemical composition to caustic potash was used. The damage of cotton cellulose by repeated washing in various alkaline solutions at 8$0^{\circ}C$, 60 rpm was examined. The damage of cotton cellulose by the variation of copper number, carboxyl content, degree of polymerization and retained tensile strength was estimated. The results obtained at this study are as follows; 1. The damage of cotton by caustic soda was severer than caustic potash. The retained tensile strength at 50 washing cycle in caustic soda was 59% and in sodium carbonate was 80%. 2. By adding soap to caustic soda, the damage of cotton fabric decreased because contact area between fabric and air diminished by foam. 3. Detergency of EMPA 101 in caustic soda was lower than sodium carbonate. Consequently, using caustic soda that damage fabric severely and have lower detergency for caustic potash is unreasonable.

Effect of Some Bases Individually and Their Synergists with Dimethoate and Dichlorvos (DDVP) on the Mulberry Whitefly, Aleuroclava sp. Singh

  • Field experiments were conducted to find out the effec- tive control measures with some bases alone and in combination with Dichlorvos and Dimethoate for the whitefly Aleuroclava sp. Singh in the mulberry garden. Four common bases marketed in India Soda, Sunlight, Nirma and Surf at 1% concentration and their synergists with 0.02% Dichlorvos and 0.03% Dimethoate applied to mulberry plants reduced the whitefly by 46-95% (adults) 50-90% (nymphs) upto 15 days of application. Amongst the bases 1% Soda is more effective but, the mixing of 0.02% Dichlorvos with 1% Surf found more effective than 0.02% Dichlorvos With 1% Soda solution. As Surf and Dichlorvos mixture is costly for the control of whitely, Soda was found better (in combination with Dichlorvos) as it is cheaper and easily available to the farmers.

  • 단일이온교환 프로세스를 도입하여 soda-lime-silicate 유리에 있어서의 이온교환 거동 및 물성변화를 관찰하였다. 온도 및 시간 변화에 따라 K/sup +/ 이온의 침투깊이, 이온교환량은 증가하였으며, 이에 비례하여 밀도, 굴절률도 증가하는 경향을 보였다 이온교환 과정에서 생성된 비가교 산소로 인하여 400nm에서 흡수 현상이 관찰되었으며, 열팽창계수는 구조의 치밀화와 이력현상에 영향을 받았다.
