  • In recent years, the population structure has been changed by the progresses of 6th-industrialization and transportation in farming areas. This study aims to suggest a regional development plan of farming areas in accordance with the demographic changes. Population structure indicators were derived from previous studies and literature review in order to identify the types of farming areas. Demographic indicators separated to depopulation and population growth in farming areas through a standardized scoring method. This research found that the division of economy is not only the most important division in any other regional development divisions but also necessary to develop new sources of non-farm income through traditional culture, natural environment. In the social division, it is necessary to secure the facilities for the formation of a sense of community to multicultural families and existing residents in farming areas. In the environmental division, it is desirable to improve the quality and satisfaction of life for residents such as the sidewalk and park that utilize ecological environment, culture, history for both depopulation and population region. In the physical division, there is a need for improvement of the facilities of basic living infrastructure service such as roads, water supply and sewerage systems. In the institution division, sustainable financial support of the central government policy for farming areas is crucial for the improvement of residential environment in the farming areas of depopulation and population region.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an indicator for the selection of urban regeneration areas through an analytical network process. Therefore, this study derived five criteria and 58 indicators based on previous studies. Five criteria and 16 indicators were derived by taking into account the region and city characteristics of Gong-ju. Next, a survey from 63 urban regeneration experts was performed. The weight values of the criteria were calculated using the super decisions 2.0 program. As a result, population characteristics (0.244) was the most important criteria, followed by the industry economy (0.218), condition of promotion policy (0.193), social culture (0.188), and physical environment (0.158). These results will be used to select potential urban regeneration areas, and will contribute to overall effective urban regeneration.

  • This study presented how to evaluate the inland inundation risk considering the characteristics of inland flood. Fuzzy AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), which can deal with the uncertainty or ambiguousness of the decision-making process, was used to estimate the inundation risk. The criteria used for inland inundation risk include the physical index, social index and inland flood. Each index contains three detailed indicators then total nine indicators were employed in this study. The inundation risk evaluation was carried out for each node (manhole) within the drainage system, not to the administrative extent, which enabled us to point out nodes with high risk. The proposed Fuzzy AHP was applied to Geoje district in Busan. The results indicated that the junction of Oncheoncheon and Geojecheon has high risk which is consistent with the fact that this junction has already experienced floods in the past. The proposed method can be used for evaluating inland inundation risk and preparing flood prevention plans in inland flood-prone urban areas.

  • This study is a literature analysis study that analyzed program intervention research papers to understand the characteristics of lifestyle intervention programs to prevent cardiovascular disease. The final 18 papers were selected by applying search terms such as "cardio-cerebrovascular disease" and "intervention" through electronic databases such as Pubmed. As for the criteria for selecting program participants in the study, physiological criteria were mainly used, and there were many programs that mediated physical activity and eating habits. Education was the most widely used intervention type, and there were many studies that combined and applied several interventions. During the intervention period, long-term interventions averaged more than 22 weeks, and biophysical indicators were most frequently used as effect indicators for measuring the intervention effect. Through this study, it is suggested that environmental and social support is needed to develop intervention programs considering the interrelationship of various lifestyle habits and maintain healthy lifestyle habits.

  • Entering the era of low growth due to changes in social and economic conditions, most cities across the country are actively promoting urban regeneration. Although urban regeneration is a project with huge national finances, a clear evaluation system has not yet been established. In order to ensure the sustainability of urban regeneration, it is necessary to secure the validity of urban regeneration policies and establish a reflux system to supplement the policies. The purpose of this study is to derive the limitations of the existing comprehensive performance evaluation and to develop an improved urban regeneration policy comprehensive performance evaluation technique based on spatial big data. The urban regeneration comprehensive performance evaluation technique differentiated the areas affected by the urban regeneration project and the surrounding areas based on the type of urban regeneration project and the presence or absence of large cities and middle cities. The effects of urban regeneration were quantitatively verified through relative comparison between the areas affected by urban regeneration projects and the surrounding areas of population, society, economy, industry, physical and environmental evaluation indicators.

  • This study was to examine of physical and psychological traits to sasang constitution in college students. The subjects in this study were 114 people, who were consists of 35 persons of Taeeumin, 34 persons of Soyangin and 45 persons of Soeumin. We were analyzed psychological trait with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicators(MBTI) and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI) according to sasang constitution. Also, We were analyzed physical trait with the Body Mass Index(BMI) according to sasang constitution. Each sasang constitutions personality type showed significantly differences only in the extraversion and introversion(p=0.012). In the relationship of BMI, Taeeumin showed bigger BMI compared to others (p<0.001). As a result of logistic regression analysis, Soyangin was higher in the extraversion(odds ratio[OR], 3.48 ; 95% confidence interval [95% CI], 1.18-10.26) compared with Taeeumin. Also, each sasang constitutions showed significantly differences in trait-anxiety(p=0.047). The score of trait-anxiety in Soeumin was significantly higher than that in Taeeumin. The limitation of this study was that particular samples could not represent the population, because the students from one college had participated in this study. In the future, we will perform this study in general population. At the same time, we will also develop approaches considering physical and psychological aspects depending on the types of constitution in the management of subjects.

  • The new paradigm of urban regeneration, would promote the comprehensive communal view. Therefore, the community role has become an important and necessary for regeneration of communities. It is necessary for urban regeneration which should be matched with the regional characteristics, to develop an evaluation framework that can objectively and accurately diagnose the status of community; so it can be an integrated prescription. A new alternative, asset-based approach may be an alternative to build the community based on opportunities and strengths, which focuses on community inside and things that community have. In this study, a community asset is defined as the tangible and intangible components in the community. A community asset evaluation system is developed through the content analysis related to previous studies of several researchers who investigated the asset-based approaches. Community assets are classified into seven types: human, social, cultural, natural, physical, economic, and political property. Each type is classified into components and establish as a framework with 3 levels in order to set the indicators which can be measured concretely.

  • Purpose: The objective of this study were to examine the determinants of self-rated health, specially focused on the effect of functional capacity of community dwelling sedentary older adults on self-rated health. Method: The data has been collected from 654 community-dwelling sedentary older adults (mean age: 75 years) during the period from April to June in 2007. The data were collected by the in-person interview and direct measurement of functional capacity. The data were analyzed using chi-square test and multiple regression analysis with the SPSS 9.1 program. Result: The elderly rated their health as very good (3%), good (28%), fair (38%), poor (29%0, and very poor (2%). The higher average daily walk minutes ($\beta$=0.12, p<.01), number of chair stand ($\beta$=0.10, p<.05), scores of self-efficacy ($\beta$=0.16, p<.001) and the lower number of disease ($\beta$=-0.44, p<.001) show better self-rated health. Conclusion: Self-rated health is the most commonly used indicators in social epidemiology and geriatric research because it has been known as the good predictor of mortality and reflects health related disability. The finding suggested that daily walking habits, lower body strength, physical self-efficacy should be considered to improve the senior's self-perception of health. The community-based intervention associate increase these factors should be considered.

  • Background: We hypothesized that the growing demand of Korean workers for work-life balance would change the factors influencing job satisfaction. We sought to verify our hypothesis by conducting a conjoint analysis based on the Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS). Methods: We analyzed the raw data of the KWCS, conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute from 2006 to 2017. To complete the analysis, we counted on a conjoint model of analysis, typically used in the analysis of customer satisfaction. The dependent variable was the satisfaction of workers with their working conditions, and the independent variables were the job quality indicators identified by Eurofound. Results: The factors that have the greatest impact on working conditions satisfaction are summarized as follows: "physical environment" for the first wave, "adverse social behavior" for the second wave, "occupational status" for the third and fourth waves, and "management quality" for the fifth wave. "Earnings" were not a major factor in determining employee job satisfaction, and the relative importance index is decreasing. Conclusion: According to the results of the analysis of the tendencies of Korean workers, the factors that affect the satisfaction with the working conditions have changed over time. It is crucial to identify factors that affect working conditions to assure the health and productivity of workers. The results of this study demonstrate that policymakers and employers are required to attentively consider human relations and social environment at work to improve working conditions in the future.
