Factors Influencing Consumer's Purchase Intention on Beauty Products in Youtube

  • Purpose: This research aims to explain the influence of social media influencer (SMI), electronic word of mouth (EWOM), and perceived quality (PQ) on purchase intention (PI) of beauty products on YouTube. Youtube as the number 1 social media in Indonesia, has an important role as a promotional strategy media for beauty products. Research design, data and methodology: This study used the online survey to 210 female respondents aged 17-30 years who became a subscriber of an Indonesian beauty influencer. Simple regression and multiple regressions were performed to analyze the independent variables towards the dependent variable. Results: The results show that social media influencer, electronic word of mouth, and perceived quality simultaneously have a significant influence on purchase intention. Nevertheless, only two variables individually have a significant influence on purchase intention, which is social media influencer and perceived quality. Conclusions: Perceived quality and social media influencer could be the best strategies to increase consumers when promoting through the influencer's Youtube channel by utilizing a subscriber. While e-WOM can be influential on other social media platforms rather than on the Youtube platform. Therefore, suggested that digital marketer must use multiple social media platforms to increase consumers' purchase intention.

한국 소셜 미디어 인플루언서 연구의 내용분석 (Content Analysis of Social Media Influencer Research in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 전세계적으로 주목받고 있는 소셜 미디어 인플루언서의 국내연구 동향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국학술인용색인에 등재된 학술논문 가운데, 2009년부터 2021년까지 소셜 인플루언서를 주제로 한 논문 총 178편을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 패션 및 뷰티, 커뮤니케이션 등 특정분야에 국한되어 있던 초기 소셜 미디어 인플루언서 연구는 시간이 흐를수록 다양한 학문분야로 확장되며 양적 성장을 이루고 있었다. 실증연구의 비중은 최근 들어 높아지는 추세이며, 질적 연구방법론을 적용한 연구들은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 소셜 미디어 플랫폼의 특성은 매우 다양하고 각 플랫폼에서 활동하는 인플루언서의 유형과 속성 역시 이질적임에도 불구하고, 특정 미디어 플랫폼 및 인플루언서 유형에 대한 연구 비중은 오히려 더 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 국내 소셜 미디어 인플루언서 연구의 현주소를 조망하는 첫 실증연구라는 점에서 학문적 의의를 지닌다.

The Effects of Social Media Influencers' Advertising Disclosure on Consumer Responses on Instagram

  • As many brands use social media influencers (SMIs) on Instagram to advertise, not disclosing advertised content affects how consumers perceive these influencers. The purpose of this study was to investigate two objectives: 1) recent advertising disclosure types on Instagram and 2) the factors that affect consumer responses towards Instagram influencers posting advertised content. Using an experimental 2x2 between-subjects design (N=200), the findings show that "sponsored" and "paid partnership with" are two recent types of ad disclosures. However, both factors are insignificantly different from each other. Also, ad disclosure condition enhances the trustworthiness of the influencer than no disclosure. Ad skepticism, source credibility, and the level of persuasion strongly relate to how consumers perceive Instagram influencers advertising for brands. These factors enable consumers to assess if the influencer is a reliable source of information when faced with advertisement. Ultimately, using disclosure gives full information to consumers about the persuasive intent, as well as increases positive consumer responses towards the influencer who discloses, thereby, enhancing the ethical use of the influencer advertising strategy and long-term consumer relationship.

유튜브 인플루언서 마케팅: 사회적 거리, 지각된 진정성 및 광고태도의 관계에서 제품-인플루언서 일치성의 역할 (Influencer Marketing: The Role of Product-Influencer Congruence between Social Distance, Perceived Authenticity and Attitude toward Ads)

  • 본 연구는 소셜미디어 인플루언서 마케팅의 효과성을 알아보기 위한 것으로 유튜브 인플루언서에 대한 지각된 사회적 거리, 진정성 및 광고태도의 관계를 분석하였다. 지각된 진정성은 인플루언서의 활동에 중요한 요소로서 협찬광고의 노출에 따른 소비자의 태도에 영향을 줄 것이며, 특히 지각된 진정성의 효과는 제품과 인플루언서 활동 간의 일치성에 의해 조건부 간접효과를 보일 것으로 가정되었다. 이를 알아보기 위해, 364명의 대학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 무응답 및 불성실 응답을 제외하고 340명의 데이터를 타당하게 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 인플루언서와의 사회적 거리는 지각된 진정성과 광고태도에 긍정적 영향을 주었고, 지각된 진정성은 광고태도에 직접 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 지각된 진정성은 사회적 거리와 광고태도의 관계성을 부분매개하는 효과를 보였고, 이러한 매개효과는 낮은 수준의 제품-인플루언서 일치성에서 나타나는 반면 높은 수준의 일치성에서는 발견되지 않았다. 이러한 결과에 기초하여, 인플루언서 마케팅에 대한 전략적 시사점을 논의하였다.

  • Social networking is gaining speed and has grown indispensable as technology develops. As a result, social media, particularly Facebook, Instagram, and influencer marketing, are replacing conventional marketing trends. The top 15 search terms for Mongolian women between the ages of 18 and 34 in 2019 on Facebook were cosmetics and shopping. Companies use social media, the main tool of social media, to promote their products while simultaneously increasing productivity at a minimal cost. In Mongolia, finding out about cosmetic brand products on social media is rather usual. The impact of social media influencers on the purchasing of cosmetic brands must thus be researched. We aimed to find out the relationship between attractiveness, authenticity, communication ability, and influence, which are characteristics of beauty influencers, on product purchase intention and identification between consumers and followers (information acceptance, purchase intention). Communication ability and influence appeared to have a statistically significant positive (+) effect on identification. On the other hand, attractiveness, communication ability, and influence all showed a statistically significant positive (+) effect on information acceptance. Identification and information acceptance has s significant positive effect on purchase intention.

버추얼 인플루언서 릴 미켈라의 소셜미디어에 반영된 패션의 의미 (The Meanings of Fashion on the Social Media of Virtual Influencer Lil Miquela)

  • 2016년 소셜미디어에 등장한 릴 미켈라는 오늘날 점차 주목받는 버추얼 인플루언서들 중 가장 알려진 존재이다. 특히 미켈라는 인스타그램을 통해 많은 패션 브랜드들과 실제적 협업을 이어가면서 사회에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 본 연구는 오늘날 버추얼 인플루언서들의 활약이 부각되고 있는 만큼 미켈라의 소셜미디어 사례 탐색을 통해 현대 패션이 지향하는 의미를 도출하고자 하는 목적을 갖는다. 이를 위하여 미켈라의 인스타그램 내 스틸컷 이미지, 비디오 이미지, 미켈라의 설명, 댓글 등을 연구대상으로 삼아 분석하였다. 이상의 분석을 시도한 결과 미켈라의 소셜미디어에 나타난 패션을 표현하는 방식 및 장치는 스토리텔링, 리얼리티, 태그와 하이퍼링크 등 세 가지로 구분이 가능하였다. 또한 경험의 대상, 테크놀로지의 지향, 시대정신의 구현 등의 세 가지 측면에서 패션이 갖는 의미를 도출할 수 있었다. 소셜미디어에서 등장한 이후 점차 더 영역을 확장해가고 있는 미켈라는 패션을 통해 정체성을 구축한 버추얼 패션 인플루언서이며 앞으로 패션에 보다 더 새로운 의미를 부여할 것으로 기대된다.

Determining How Image of Social Media Influencers Affect Korean Food Purchase Behavior in China: An Image Transfer Perspective

  • Existing studies on this topic have focused on the effect of online content quality on consumer attitudes and behavior, with very few illustrating the effect of influencer image on consumer attitudes and behavior. The purpose of this study intents to reveal how influencer image affect consumer behavior. We have developed an image transfer theory-based research model to reveal how influencers transfer their image to endorsed products to influence consumer behavior. The results show that influencer image positively affects satisfaction, which in turn affects the product's cognitive and affective images in the vlog. Moreover, it was found that a product's cognitive image and affective image influence consumer behavior intention. Furthermore, purchase experience exhibits significant differences in its path. Based on these results, the social media-related research theoretical implication will be offered, and managerial implications will be provided for foreign brand promotion strategies

The Relationship among Characteristics of Fashion Influencers, Relationship Immersion, and Purchase Intention

  • Purpose: As the digital environment has expanded opportunity for consumers to acquire information from social media and social network services(SNS), With this environment, influencer has not only promoted products, but also participated in distribution and influencing on their followers. Despite the increasing interest in influencers, there has not been enough research on the structure of fashion influencer, relationship of immersion and purchase intention. This study examined the effects of fashion influencers' characteristics to the immersion of relationship with followers and purchase intention. Research design, data and methodology: For data collection, a pilot survey and the final survey were conducted. The pilot survey data was conducted to 50 female SNS users following fashion influencers. Based on the pilot tests, questionnaire was revised and the final survey was conducted online from august 22 to September 1, 2019 to female SNS users who have followed fashion influencer. A total of 408 data were collected, and exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equational modeling techniques were employed for the data analyses using AMOS 26.0 and SPSS 26.0. Results: First, five factors were extracted for the fashion influencers' characteristics: interactivity, similarity, reliability, expertise and attractiveness. Second, fashion influences' reliability, expertise, similarity, interactivity have a positive (+) effects on relationship immersion; however, attractiveness has no effect on relationship immersion with followers and fashion influencer. It was also determined that relationship immersion had positive (+) influences on purchase intention. The relationship immersion has been found to have a partially mediated effect and similarity has complete mediated effects between interactivity, reliability, and expertise of fashion influencers and purchasing intentions. In terms of fashion opinion leadership, it was found to have a significant influence on purchase intention only for low fashion leadership groups. Conclusions: The present study found the structural relationships among the influencer characteristics, relationship immersion and purchase intentions to provide framework for succeeding research. This research revealed academic association of intention of purchasing through use of fashion social media and fashion influencer marketing. The results also showed the practical implications that fashion influencers' expertise and reliability perceived by their followers are key determinants to success in influencer marketing.

Experience Type Applications by the Behavior of Food-Content Creators

  • It has emerged Food-content among various forms of 1-person media through social media. Food-content influencer also market products through 1-person media, generating revenue through increased views and subscribers of 1-person media. It also sells products through sponsorship. In general, there is a profit structure through 1-person media viewing, but research on how restaurant companies generate profits directly through food-content is insufficient. In addition, research on converting subscribers to consumers through food-contents is minimal. In this paper, we propose an experiential application system based on the behavior of food-content creators. The proposed system collects and categorizes food-content information, and maps between highly related words to organize into keyword categories. The ontology tag-based concept network applied to the proposed system connects representative information by pre-extracting/mapping information related to information requests among a wide range of data. This method maps relevant food-content information to provide the user with data collected/storage in the form of an application. The user uses the application while watching the food eaten by the influencer and creator. And, it is meaningful that the user could be provided is provided with information about the food they want to eat.

소셜미디어 인플루언서의 준사회적 상호작용과 관계가 이용자의 브랜드 태도와 구매 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Social Media Influencer's Parpasocial Interaction and Relationship on Users's Brand Attitude and Purchase Intention)

  • 소셜미디어의 등장과 스마트폰의 기술적 발달로 미디어 콘텐츠의 생산, 공유, 확산이 쉬워지면서 이용자들의 미디어 이용행태에는 커다란 변화가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 변화 중 우리가 주목해야 할 것은 유튜브의 공격적인 성장이다. 이러한 성장 뒤에는 크리에이터들의 적극적인 콘텐츠 생산과 이용자들의 공유행동이 있다. 최근 들어 크리에이터들은 소셜미디어 인플루언서로서 이용자들에게 막강한 영향력을 행사하게 되었으며 이들을 활용한 인플루언서 마케팅이 주목받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소셜미디어 인플루언서와 이용자들 간의 준사회적 상호작용은 동일시, 관심, 경험적 상호작용으로 세분화하고 관계는 신뢰도, 우정, 이해, 몰입으로 세분화하여 이들이 브랜드 태도와 구매 의도에 미치는 영향들을 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 준사회적 상호작용인 관심과 신뢰의 관계가 브랜드 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 보였으며, 가식적이지 않은 상호작용과 우정의 관계가 구매 의도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 마케팅 목표에 따라 인플루언서와 소비자들간의 상호작용 방식과 관계 유형에 적합한 커뮤니케이션을 개발해야 한다는 것을 의미한다. 더 자세한 이론적 및 실무적 함의가 논의되었다.
