  • This study is an attempt to analyze the information problem and the informational education in information society through the two cultural paradigms of ‘system‘ and ‘life world’, which are used to interpret the social problems in modern age. Information problem concerns the individual problems such as reference and validity problem of information and social problems like paradox of information, information technology, and equal opportunity. From the discussion was deduced the fact that the informational education is the cultural media to arbitrate the conflict between the reasonable solution of the individual information problem in ‘life world’ and the control attempt by ‘system’ to cope with the social information problem. It is also indicated that the aim of the informational education is the information autonomy which can be built through the information literacy.

  • On information markets, we can identify different relations between sellers and their customers, with some users paying with money, some paying with attention, and others paying with their personal data. For the description of these different market relations, this article introduces the notion of arity into the scientific discussion. On unary information markets, customers pay with their money; examples include commercial information suppliers. Binary information markets are characterized by one market side paying with attention (e.g., on the search engine Google) or with personal data (e.g., on most social media services) and the other market side (mainly advertisers) paying with money. Our example of a ternary market is a social media market with the additional market side of influencers. If customers buy on unary markets, they know what to pay (in terms of money). If they pay with attention or with their personal data, they do not know what they have to pay exactly in the end. On n-ary markets (n greater than 1), laws should regulate company's abuse of money and-which is new-abuse of data streams with the aid of competition (or anti-trust) laws, and by modified data protection laws, which are guided by fair use of end users' attention and data.

  • At the dawn of the 20th century, Southeast Asian female poets increasingly delved into introspective reflections on gender, giving rise to a heightened self-awareness in their artistic contemplations. This shift in perspective brought forth numerous crucial topics for discussion, such as the historical role of female poets, women's experiences, feminine language, female voices, and female identity. The exploration of language has empowered female poets to discover a "third space" that allows them to exist and eliminate the pervasive gaps of women in Southeast Asia, creating social changes, fostering concepts of feminine culture, and establishing progressive social institutions. Marjorie Evasco (1953-) and Dư Thị Hoàn (1947 - ) are exemplary representatives of contemporary Southeast Asian women's poetry due to their significant artistic contributions and pivotal roles in promoting feminist literature in their respective countries. This study compares their poetic works, focusing on three crucial aspects: self-awareness of femininity and feminism as an identity autonomy, writing between two languages to express their identities, and constructing the image of mother and motherhood from personal and historical perspectives. Hence, the article highlights that Southeast Asian female poets, throughout different historical contexts, persistently forge their identities and strive for equal footing with men in society. Also, their invaluable contributions have significantly enriched the feminist literary tradition in Asia.

  • Sensitivity has become more important in relation to design in a changing social environment and atmosphere. In the West, the concept of aesthetics has long been established but in the East, only in the seventeenth and eighteenth century China the discussion had begun. In Korea where the first scholarly discussion on aesthetics had begun around 1929, more and more rigorous and theoretical discussions emerge nowadays. Korean beauty consists of unplanned Beauty and unplanned planned Beauty. Japanese beauty consists of the beauty of half-articulation and the beauty of articulation. While both Korea and Japan base their sense of beauty on nature, Korea emphasizes the nature as it is and Japan values the artful decorative elements. In modern Korean fashion, the characteristic Korean aesthetics of unplanned Beauty appears in the various expressive techniques such as the movement with natural gathering, the use of natural materials like cotton, the harmonization of black and white, and simplified silhouette. Also, there are plays on balance and proportion using straight and curves lines and variegated colors and creative printing, intentional asymmetry, and destrution.

The participants completed self-administered questionnaires on socio-demographics, health status, family members' related factors, and other environmental factors. Results: Difficulties on child nursing, finance, family conflict, and experience of physical or verbal violence were significant risk variables to the depressive stress related symptoms. Family life satisfaction, discussion about troubles with Koreans, healthy status, social trust, and discussion about troubles with people from home country were the significant protective variables to mental health. • Science-Technology-Society curricula have been developed in several countries for the last 20 years. Those curricula were focused on social aspects of science, i.e., value-laden knowledge and scientific enterprise, and society-related scientific and technological issues, i.e., energy, pollution, natural resources. The major teaching models employed in those curricula were problem solving and decision making, which required the following teaching techniques: teacher as a manager, small group discussion, controversy as a motivational force for substantive learning, and sufficient factual information into the discussion. Further researches are to be made to ascertain whether or not the expectations of the curricula might be realized in practice. It was shown that most Korean biology teachers considered the STS-related goal of science education as more important than the other goals. Based upon the findings, some recommendations for development of Korean STS curriculum were made as follows: 1. The contents of the STS curricula are to be organized with the integrated mode; 2. The major teaching models throughout the contents are to be problem solving and decision making. These are considered to provide students with the opportunities to involve in debates on practical issues and to draw consensus from them; 3. Some degree of flexibility should be provided on teachers' implementation of the curriculum in terms of contents, teaching techniques etc.; 4. To increase the practicality of the curriculum, teachers should be involved in the development of the curriculum and the relevant research; and 5. Contents to be included in STS curriculum were suggested by some science educators, but the more systematic study is required in this respect.
