Korean-culture specific factors and new trends such as a third wave of CBT are also described.

The data were analyzed through frequency analysis, t-test, Pearson's correlation analysis, stepwise multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS Win 21. The major findings of the research are as follows. First, social anxiety and internet game flow of adolescents showed a significant difference by gender. The level of social anxiety was higher for girls than that of boys, while the level of internet game flow was higher for boys than that of girls. Self-discrepancy showed a significant difference by grade. The level of self-discrepancy was higher for middle school students than high school students. Second, self-discrepancy was the most significant predictor of the internet game flow in adolescents. Also, gender and social anxiety were significant predictors. Objective : This study was to examine the impact of adverse childhood experiences on social anxiety symptoms in young adults and verify the mediating effects of positive resources. Methods : Data from 1,317 young adults aged to 18 to 29 years who took part in the university-based cross-sectional survey were analyzed. All participants completed Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) scale, Social Avoidance and Distress Scale (SAD), and Positive Resources Test (POREST). Results : In young adults, 9.3% had severe social anxiety symptoms. Based on 10 ACE categories, 32.7% of participants reported one or more adverse childhood experience, and 4.5% reported four or more different forms of adverse childhood experiences. Young adults with higher social anxiety symptoms were likely to report more adverse childhood experiences, and less positive resources. Multivariate regression analysis indicated that positive resources moderated the association between adverse childhood experiences and social anxiety symptoms. Conclusion : Based on the results, professionals need to consider early detection of adverse childhood experiences and comorbid social anxiety symptoms. In addition, various positive psychological interventions for individuals with adverse childhood experiences are needed.
This study investigated how exposure to thin-ideal images affects social physical anxiety and body-esteem in relation to individual levels of self-consciousness. A survey questionnaire was administered to a convenience sample of 119 female college students. Sixty-seven of the 119 participated in a posttest session. The mean comparisons of social physique anxiety and body-esteem scores between pretest and posttest were conducted; no significant results were found. However, when participants were divided into two separate self-consciousness groups (high vs. low), the effect of media exposure on social physique anxiety were significant.
Anxiety in mice can be measured by behavioral reactivity to social or non-social stressors. These behaviors were compared by performing the resident-intruder test (social) as well as the light-dark transition and open-field tests (non-social) for the FVB, C57BL/6, and BALB/c lines of mouse. The three inbred lines showed significant differences in their responses to intruder mice. Three factors, accounting for about 68% of the total variance, were extracted from the scores obtained from the three behavioral tests. The first two major factors are primarily associated with the anxiety-related behaviors. One includes anxiety behaviors with a locomotive basis, while the other includes defecation measured in both anxiety tests. The third factor explains the three social behaviors, facial investigation, ano-genital investigation, and following, observed in the resident intruder test, although facial investigation is also moderately associated with the second factor. The results indicate that the behavioral responses to an intruder share a component distinct from anxiety-related behaviors.

A total of 534 surveys were completed and were analyzed with SPSS WIN 12.0 including frequency test, t-test, Pearson's correlations analysis, simultaneous multiple regression and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study are summarized as follows. First, among self-acceptance, social support, internal locus of control and speech anxiety, gender affected speech anxiety. Second, speech anxiety was most affected by self-acceptance, followed by social support, internal locus of control and gender in the order of mention. Third, social support had moderating effects on the relationship between self-acceptance and speech anxiety.
