  • Due to recent changes in increased life expectancy, economic power and social development, the new senior generation (focusing on people in their fifties) represents a new market power with strong competitiveness. The new senior generation is the generation after the baby boomers, with characteristics that include a high-level of education, increased income, a high-level of consumption, increased assets, self-fulfillment desires and individuality. Demands in the senior fashion industry are expected to gradually increase and the underwear industry that targets the new senior generation is expected to grow rapidly. These demands will require product development for the new senior generation based on emotional and socio-cultural characteristics. The current new senior underwear market is under the process of R&D with a focus on body shape changes; however, there are limited studies on emotional and socio-cultural approaches. This study formulates a basic design plan for different age groups based on an analysis of the situation of bra wear (current inconveniences, demand and needs) by women in their fifties and over. Subsequently, a functional active bra top that considers activity and comfort was proposed for women in their fifties, an all-in-one foundation bra top that shapes the body was proposed for women in their sixties, and comfort bra tops that are comfortable and easy to put on and take off were proposed for women in their seventies and over.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate institutionalized adolescents'perception of meaningful persons and to analyze the features of their interpersonal relationships. 9 middle school students of 3 child welfare facilities were observed and participated in depth-interviews. Results indicate that there is a difference in adolescents'family image according to their experience before institutionalization. They want care-givers of institution to offer more emotional support to them. And they perceive much social support from other adolescents who're living with them. But, the findings suggest that their peer relationships have some limitations because of institutionalization itself and various restriction on their behaviors. Lastly, they want more intimate relationship with supporters in addition to financial sponsorship. In conclusion, institutionalized adolescents'interpersonal relationships are related closely to the environmental properties. Therefore, concerns should be directed toward improving the quality of social and psychological environment of institutions. And various programs should be provided to support institutionalized adolescents'social development.

The survey tool was modified and supplemented for this study based on a questionnaire whose reliability and validity were verified in previous studies, and all questionnaire questions were structured on a 5-point scale. For data analysis, SPSS Windows 21.0 Version was used to perform statistical processing according to the purpose of analysis. The conclusions obtained in this study through data analysis according to these methods and procedures are as follows. First, the motivation to participate in horseback riding was found to partially affect emotional style. Second, the motivation to participate in horseback riding was found to partially affect subjective well-being. Third, the emotional style of horseback riding participants was found to partially affect subjective well-being. Considering these results, it is possible to satisfy various desires in modern people's lives through leisure sports activities such as horseback riding, which allows them to communicate with nature and living things. In other words, internal motivation factors such as social relationships, satisfaction of needs, and professional development through leisure sports activities are positively or negatively related to emotional regulation, and this has a close impact on satisfaction with one's life and happiness.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the relationship between the level of emotional labor and job stress for public health nurses. Methods: The survey was conducted from Mar. to Oct. 2010 for collection of data from public health nurses (N=195). Descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-test, Tukey HSD, and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used in performance of data analysis. Results: Results of this study indicate that as the nurses grow older, they receive a larger salary and their emotional labor is reduced. The results of this study also demonstrate that the emotional labor is highest when their total nursing job work duration and public health nurse work duration are between six and 10 years. There is a significant difference in job stress of the two age groups between occupational roles and personal strain. This means that job stress is highest in nurses who are in their thirties and low fifties. Emotional labor showed positive correlation with occupational roles and personal strain of job stress, but showed negative correlation with personal resources. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, we suggest development of interventions to reduce emotional labor and job stress, taking into account the characteristics of age.

  • This study is a report about the two summer camps of 2009 and 2010, which were held by some gifted classes of Liberal Arts areas in Chungnam Province. The students' self- directed methods, making an own project topic and an outline plan for that by students themselves before the camp, raised up the students' satisfaction of the camp effectively. Staying with their peer students and teachers for 3 days gave the gifted students a chance for relationship, self-confidence, and self-sufficiency. These joint summer camps provided the students with cognitive development, motivations and a chance to meet other gifted students. Teachers' preparation for the camp, their concrete feedback to each student's project, and students' time spending on one's own camp project were correlated with the students' satisfaction of the camp program. Experience of teacher training in gifted education made significant differences in understanding gifted students and expectations of students' social and emotional development throughout and after the camp.

  • The existing market patterns and social structures have been changed according to the trends of digital and informational society of the 21st century. The characteristics of the consumption market is that the balance of power moves from enterprises to consumers. As consumers’ demands are diversified according to life quality enhancement, many products are based on main aspects of human experiences, emotions and values. Standardized functions and services of products cannot capture consumers to a great extent any more. A notable aspect is that consumers want products or services that can oner movable experiences. Future products must appeal to emotion, not to reason of consumers. Now consumers purchase styles, experiences and stories contained in products, not products themselves. That is, the key to decision to purchase products is the satisfaction of emotional values. Users'emotions diversified due to the development of industrial designs demand the development of new designs that can represent new trends of users. User-centered values imply the change of people's purchasing trends. This indicates that there is a need to change physical aspects such as price or functions into individual emotions and characters. In addition, studies are required on design concepts to pursue new emotional values, apart from functional type designs. It is time for designers to suggest initiative and rational directions for this changing era.
