Social Intelligence Counseling Intervention to Reduce Bullying Behaviors Among Thai Lower Secondary School Students: A Mixed-method Study

  • Objectives: To develop and investigate the effectiveness of an integrative counseling intervention for enhancing social intelligence and reducing bullying behaviors among lower secondary school students in Bangkok, Thailand. Methods: An interventional mixed-method design was employed in 2 phases. Phase 1 involved the development of a qualitative method-based integrative counseling program from key informants using the eclecticism technique. In phase 2, a randomized controlled trial with a wait-list control was conducted and qualitative research was performed with students who demonstrated bullying behaviors. Demographic data, Social Intelligence Scale (SIS) scores, and Bullying-Behavior Scale (BBS) scores were collected at baseline. Changes in SIS scores and qualitative findings obtained from in-depth interviews were examined after counseling ended, and BBS scores were collected again 1 month later. Results: The developed social intelligence counseling program included eight 1-hour weekly sessions consisting of 3 components: (1) social awareness, (2) social information processing, and (3) social skills. After receiving this intervention, scores for the SIS overall (p<0.001) and all of its components (p<0.05) were significantly enhanced in the experimental group compared to the control group. Moreover, the mean BBS scores in the experimental group significantly decreased 1 month after counseling (p=0.001). With regard to the qualitative research results, the experimental students demonstrated improvements in all components of social intelligence. Conclusions: The results indicated that a preventive counseling program may enhance social intelligence, decrease bullying behaviors among lower secondary school students, and prevent further incidents of school violence. However, further studies in various population subgroups should also be performed.

  • 사회마케팅은 1960년대 후반에 마케팅 개념의 확장이 필요하다는 주류 마케팅관리학파에 속하는 일부 학자들의 주장이 제기되면서 태동되었다. 이러한 이유로 인하여 사회마케팅 종사자들은 주로 전통적인 마케팅 수단에 의존하여 사회적 문제를 다루는데 응용하여왔다. 그러나 사회마케팅에 관한 지금까지의 연구문헌을 보면 사회마케팅 종사자들이 상업마케팅의 경우와는 매우 상이한 상황이라 할 수 있는 시장실패와 복잡한 교환을 간과하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 사회마케팅은 이러한 상황에 직면하고 있음을 고려할 때 전통적인 수단만으로는 사회적 문제를 충분히 다룰 수 없다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 사회자본이론이 시장실패와 복잡한 교환현상은 물론 행동변화와 사회적 현상도 고려하고 있기 때문에 사회마케팅 종사자들에게 유용한다는 점을 보여주었다. 사회자본이론을 사회마케팅에 원용하면 사회마케팅 종사자들이 유익한 행동변화를 추구하는데 하나의 지침이 될 것이다.

지역시민의식 형성 영향 요인 : 용인시를 중심으로 (Impacts of Local Civic Consciousness Formation : Focused on the Yong-in City)

  • 본 연구는 지역복지를 극대화하는 지방자치시대에 있어 지역주민으로서 갖추어야 할 시민의식 형성에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대해 파악하였다. 즉, 지역사회 문제인식의 정도, 개인의 가치 및 태도, 그리고 사회활동 참여여부 등이 민주시민의식 형성에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는지 살펴봄으로써 지역사회의 상황과 현실에 맞춘 성숙한 시민의식 형성에 기여하고자 하였다. 조사는 용인시에 거주하는 20세 이상의 지역주민 600명을 대상으로 비례확률층화표집 하였다. 연구결과, 경제 환경문제인식, 노인문제인식 등 지역사회문제를 높이 인식하고, 사회적성취욕구, 자아인식, 문화적 가치지향 정도가 높고, 사회활동에 참여할수록 긍정적인 시민의식 형성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

동네무질서와 정신장애인의 지역사회통합과의 관계 - 지역사회응집력의 조절효과 분석 - (The Moderating Effect of Community Cohesion on the Relationship between Neighborhood Disorder and Community Integration among Persons with Mental Illnesses)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 동네환경과 정신장애인의 지역사회통합과의 관계에서 지역사회응집력의 조절효과를 검증하는 데 있다. 스트레스과정 모델, 사회해체이론, 그리고 동네무질서모델을 이론적 근거로 연구모형을 설정하였다. 서울과 경기도에 거주하는 정신장애인 총 692명에게 설문조사를 실시하여 자료를 수집한 뒤, 조절회귀분석을 수행하였다. 주요한 연구결과는 첫째, 동네무질서가 사회적 통합에 직접적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 지역사회응집력의 조절 효과는 물리적, 사회적, 심리적 통합 모두에서 유의미하게 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 정신장애인의 지역사회통합을 달성하기 위해서는 개인차원이나 서비스 차원의 개입전략에서 더 나아가 지역사회차원의 개입이 필요함을 제안하였다.

공동구매형 소셜커머스에서 희소성메시지가 고객의 지각된 가치, 만족, 재구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Scarcity Message on Customers' Perceived Value, Satisfaction, and Repurchase Intention in the Context of Group-Buying Social Commerce)

  • Drawing on the theoretical framework of customer value-satisfaction-loyalty, this study examines how scarcity message influences customers' value, satisfaction, and loyalty in the context of group-buying social commerce. Previous studies have argued that scarcity message limiting the avilability of products and service is a source of enhancing customer value. In this regard, this study posits scarcity message as a predictor of customer value. Furthermore, this study classifies customer value into two forms (i.e., utilitarian value and hedonic value) and verfies how scarcity message is associated with them. To test the proposed research model and hypotheses, this study performed structural equation modeling (SEM) analyses, using a total of 292 data collected on users who have experience in purchasing products and service through group-buying social commerce sites such as Coupang, Timon, and WeMakePrice. The key results are as follows : First, scarcity message increases utilitarian and hedonic values and further customer satisfaction. Second, utilitarian value increases customer satisfaction and repurchase intention while hedonic value has nothing to do with them. The findings imply that customers seek to maximize utilitarian value through group-buying social commerce. Finally, this study indicates that repuchase intention depends greatly on customer satisfaction.

1인 가구의 만성질환 및 장애여부, 건강 스트레스와 우울감과의 관계: 사회적 지지 조절효과를 중심으로 (The effects of a chronic disease/disability and stress from health on depressive symptoms among one-person households: A focus on the moderating effect of social support)

  • This study examines the effects of chronic disease/disability and stress from health on depressive symptoms among one-person households living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province in Korea. This study also investigates the moderating effect of social support on the relationship between 1)having a chronic disease/disability and depressive symptoms as well as 2)stress from health and depressive symptoms. This study used data from an online survey targeting one-person households living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The final sample included 499 one-person households. Using a multiple regression analysis with SPSS 20.0, results showed that having a chronic disease/disability was associated with a higher level of depressive symptoms. In addition, stress from health was associated with a higher level of depressive symptoms. In regard to the roles of social support, economic support and emotional support had a direct negative effect on depressive symptoms. Emotional support had a moderating effect on the relationship between having a chronic disease/disability and depressive symptoms. In addition, emotional support also had a moderating effect on the relationship between stress from health and depressive symptoms. Based on these findings, this study suggests that policy makers should reduce the economic burden from a chronic disease/disability and help one-person households to strengthen their social support network.

시스템사고로 본 압축도시의 공간적 특성과 지속가능성과의 동태적 관계 (System Thinking Perspective on the Dynamic Relationship between Spatial Characteristics of Compact City and Urban Sustainability)

  • The purpose of this paper is to review relationship between spatial characteristics of compact city and urban sustainabiliy from system dynamics perspective using causal loop analysis. It has been argued that spatial characteristics of compact city, high population density and mixed land use, are positively related to urban sustainability. However, research results that are not consistent with pros of compact city argument have been accumulated too. It is especially true when spatial characteristics of compact city are examined with regard to each dimension of sustainablility: economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Reviewing each dimension of sustainability with regard to spatial characteristics based on causal loop analysis, this paper provides more clear understanding on relationship between compact city and sustainability. Also this paper provides a base for system dynamics simulation for future study.

한국 아동의 성인 및 또래 권위에 대한 개념 연구 (Korean Children's Concepts of Adult and Peer Authority)

  • The primary purpose of this research was to examine Korean childrens concepts of authority. Childrens judgments about commands of persons with varying age, social position, and knowledge were assessed. 48 subjects from the first, third, and fifth grades were presented with portrayals of persons giving children commands regarding two types of events: fighting and a game rule dispute. Subjects evaluated the legitimacy of commands and chose between different persons giving opposing commands. With regard to a command to stop fighting, subjects accepted the legitimacy of adult and peer authorities, as well as an adult without a position of authority. Subjects rejected commands that failed to prevent harm even when given by an adult authority. With regard to a game rule dispute, subjects most heavily weighted knowledge in evaluating the authority commands. The findings show that Korean children do not have a unitary orientation to adult authority, and have implications for an understanding of individuals' conceptions in the context of a cultural ideology emphasizing reverence for authority.

  • Social commerce is a kind of internet shopping mall in which consumers purchase the products with other consumers through mutual interactions including the development of SNS(social network service). Social commerce has expanded rapidly as a mainstream online shopping mall over the past five years driving consumers to purchase more fashion products providing the cheaper prices than open market internet shopping mall. The purpose of this study is to identify the important parameters of social commerce characteristics and consumer characteristics that affect repurchase intention and word-of-mouth intention. A 221 survey questionnaire was distributed to men in their 20's and 30's who live in Seoul metropolitan area. The data were analyzed utilizing Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, and regression analysis using the SPSS 18.0 program. The results revealed, first, that in terms of social commerce characteristics, three variables(website reputation, interactivity, and product scarcity) influenced repurchase intention. Among them, website reputation identified as the most important factor influencing repurchase intention and word-of-mouth intention. Second, with regard to consumer characteristics, interest and a tendency toward impulse buying affected the repurchase intention, and interest and internet shopping experience have influenced the word-of-mouth intention. Among three variables interest in social commerce identified as the key factor affecting both repurchase intention and word-of-mouth intention. The results of the study provide the practical implications and suggest the business strategies to enhance social commerce in the future by identifying the key social commerce characteristics and consumer characteristics that influence male consumers' buying behaviors.

소셜미디어 시대에서의 사회적 소통과 미디어 윤리 (Social Communication and Media Ethics in the Age of Social Media)

  • 미디어는 소통을 위한 도구이다. SNS등으로 대표되는 소셜미디어는 현대의 과학기술이 탄생시킨 최상의 소통도구로 여겨진다. 그러나 현재 한국에서는 소셜미디어의 광범위한 확산에도 불구하고 소통의 위기라고 불릴 만큼, 사회적 소통의 문제가 심각하다. 그 이유와 대책은 무엇일까? 이러한 문제의식에서 본 논문은 기획되었다. 우선 2장에서는 소셜미디어가 갖는 여러 기능 중에서 저널리즘으로서의 가능성과 그 특징에 대해 논의하였다. 3장에서는 사회적 소통과 관련하여 소셜미디어가 지니는 역할을 기존의 미디어와 비교하여 고찰하였다. 끝으로 4장에서는 새롭게 등장한 소셜미디어가 이상적인 사회적 소통을 위해 추구해야할 가치를 기존의 저널리즘이 추구하던 가치와 연관하여 논의한 후, 새롭게 추가되어야 할 가치를 언론윤리 혹은 미디어윤리의 차원에서 제시하였다. 수단으로서의 미디어의 완성이 목적으로서의 소통의 완성을 담보하지 못한다는 사실은 결국 과학기술의 발전이 자동적으로 인간의 행복을 보장하는 것은 아니라는 명제와 일맥상통하는 것으로 보인다. 이는 결국 인간의 행복을 위해서는 과학기술에 대한 철학적 혹은 윤리적 논의가 필요하듯이 소통의 완성을 위해서는 미디어에 대한 철학적 혹은 윤리적 논의가 필요함을 증명하는 것으로 생각된다.
