Medical schools have been working to produce competent doctors and improve the quality of care by introducing and implementing new curricula and innovative teaching and learning methods. Despite these efforts, health disparities within and between countries still exist. To close these gaps, medical schools must identify the priorities of the community, region, and/or nation and conduct education, research, and service that reflect them-the core foundation of the social accountability of medical schools. Many medical schools and networks around the world have tried to achieve social accountability, but this needs more attention in Korea. This study will review the literature in aims to improve understanding and promote the implementation of the social accountability of medical schools. Most medical schools that practice the principles of social accountability focus primarily on the medically underserved in their communities or those who have limited access to health services, and have built collaborative partnerships with stakeholders to meet the needs of society. In addition, in order to implement social accountability effectively and efficiently, medical schools have developed strategies and various evaluation frameworks appropriate to the context of each school. To have more socially accountable medical schools, it is necessary to clarify the concept of social accountability and to establish a system that can evaluate the impacts. Medical schools exist to alleviate suffering and promote health, and this can be accomplished through social accountability.

The importance of business strategy for successful social media engagement has quickly increased as more businesses engage in social media. The importance is even greater for startup companies because startup companies are genuinely new to business, and they need to increase their presence in the market, and quickly access future customers. The objective of this paper lies in exploring key indicators of social media engagements by selected startup companies. The key indicators include two aspects of social media usages by the companies: i) overall social media activities, and ii) properties of network structure of the information flow platform provided by social media service. To better assess and evaluate the key indicators of social media usages by startup companies, the indicators will be compared with those of selected large established companies. Twitter is selected as a social media service for the analysis of this paper, and using Twitter REST API, data regarding the key indicators of overall Twitter activities and the Twitter follower-network of each company in the sample are collected. Then, the data are analyzed using social network analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis to examine the characteristics of the follower-network structures and to compare the characteristics between startup companies and established companies. The results show that most indicators are significantly different across startup companies and established companies. One key interesting finding is that the startup companies have proportionally more influencers in their follower-networks than the established companies have. Another interesting finding is that the follower-networks of startup companies in the sample have higher modularity and higher transitivity, suggesting that the startup companies tend to have a proportionally larger number of communities of users in their follower-networks, and the users in the networks are more tightly connected and cohesive internally. The key business implication for the future social media engagement efforts by startup companies in general is that startup companies may need to focus on getting more attention from influencers and promoting more cohesive communities in their follower-networks to appreciate the potential benefits of social media in the early stage of business of startup companies.

With NFC technology, visitors can easily enjoy exhibit-related information and services. The participating firms can accumulate the visitor data and build up networks with potential visitors. This paper is to report an implementation and operation case of an NFC-based exhibition support service which creates new value as above. For this objective, we introduce the issues in constructing NFC-based exhibition support service. Moreover, we analyze visitor behaviors based on the tag touch data collected, and calculate the economic values generated. The NFC-based exhibition support service in this paper was applied to Hyundai Motors' booth in the 2013 Seoul Motor Show. This paper concludes with implications for business operators that are interested in applying NFC technology to exhibition spaces.

Personalized media includes user-targeted and user-generated content (UGC) exchanged through social media and interactive applications. The increased consumption of UGC presents challenges and opportunities to multimedia information systems. We work towards modeling a deep structure for content networks. To gain insights, a hybrid practice with Media Framework (MF) is presented for network creation of personalized media, which leverages the authoring methodology with user-generated semantics. The system's vertical integration allows users to audition their personalized media networks in the context of a global system network. A navigation scheme with dynamic GUI shifts the interaction paradigm for content query and sharing. MF adopts a multimodal architecture anticipating emerging use cases and genres. To model diversification of platforms, information processing is robust across multiple technology configurations. Physical and virtual networks are integrated with distributed services and transactions, IoT, and semantic networks representing media content. MF applies spatiotemporal and semantic signal processing to differentiate action responsiveness and information responsiveness. The extension of multimedia information processing into authoring enables generating interactive and impermanent media on computationally enabled devices. The outcome of this integrated approach with presented methodologies demonstrates a paradigmatic shift of the concept of UGC as personalized media network, which is dynamical and evolvable.

Since the smartphone era has spurred world-over, social network services have become a part of people's daily lives. However, this relatively new phenomenon of technology development raises several negative side effects such as cyberbullying. One of the representative cases of cyberbullying is posting malicious comments online. Multiple social issues arising from this have given impetus to the "benevolent comments campaign" in order to restrain the diffusion of malicious comments. Benevolent comments have advantages that generate positive externalities such as inspiring ethics for an appropriate internet culture, but there is a lack of theoretical research on the deeper understanding of posting benevolent comments. This study thus aims to extract the motivations behind posting benevolent comments through in-depth interviews and suggest alternatives for relative issues through the causal relationship diagram of the system dynamics methodology. This work contributes to our understanding of the factors that affect the increase and decrease in benevolent comments in distinct structural frameworks.

To alleviate the cold-start problem and data sparsity in web service recommendation and meet the personalized needs of users, this paper proposes a personalized web service recommendation method based on a hybrid social network and multi-objective immune optimization. The network adds the element of the service provider, which can provide more real information and help alleviate the cold-start problem. Then, according to the proposed service recommendation framework, multi-objective immune optimization is used to fuse multiple attributes and provide personalized web services for users without adjusting any weight coefficients. Experiments were conducted on real data sets, and the results show that the proposed method has high accuracy and a low recall rate, which is helpful to improving personalized recommendation.

This paper proposes a new visualization method based on Vitualization technique which uses internal relationship of user correlation and external information of social network to visualize user relationship hierarchy. The proposed method use hadoop on virtual machine of OpenStack for distribution and parallel processing which the result of calculation visualizes hierarchy graph to analyze link nodes of Social Network Services for users.

The objective of this study is to examine relevant factors of the service level of aged care facilities. The sample used in this study consisted of 357 aged care facilities in Korea. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaire and 140 returned questionnaire were analyzed by SPSS Version 12.0. The major findings of the study are as follows: First, there was no significant mean difference in the service level by the facility characteristics, except the length of operation. Second, it was found that both administrative characteristics and employer characteristics were positively associated with the level of nursing and supportive services. Third, the study results revealed that the following three variables of employee education and training, community networks, and employer's philosophy and management principles had significant positive effects on the level of nursing services. Meanwhile, the following two variables of employee education and training, and community networks had significant positive effects on the level of supportive services. In conclusion, in order to improve their service level, the managers of aged care facilities in Korea should make efforts to provide more employee education and training, establish networks with the community stakeholders, for example, local clinics and hospitals. It is also recommended for the government to make a policy inducing more qualified private investors to enter the aged care market, as well as to strengthen the qualification of the managers of the public aged care facilities.

In this paper, we propose a discovery protocol for finding nearby mobile applications and services in a device-to-device communications system. The device-to-device communication technology enables proximity-based services such as mobile social networks and mobile marketing. For realizing these proximity-based services, it is essential to design a discovery protocol which pinpoints the devices with mobile applications of interest among hundreds and thousands of devices in proximity. In the infrastructure-less networks such as ad hoc networks, we can design the discovery protocol that periodically broadcasts a short discovery code containing the compressed information of the mobile applications. In this paper, we design the discovery protocol with the discovery code generated by using a hash function and a Bloom filter. We also mathematically analyze the performance of the proposed protocol.

This Paper deals with the development of Incheon International Airports and Pusan and Kwangyang Ports as Hub Ports in order to systemize nationwide logistics networks. Now, Korea has core competences in terms of social overhead capital, telecommunication, information technologies, all fields of manufacturing plants, and the other infra-structure. As the environments of North-East Asian countries changes dynamically, at least we should keep up with the situations which require to meet the globalized level of international logistics services in Pusan and Kwangyang Ports to be a competitive Hub Ports in this region.
