A study on Disaster Anxiety scale consideration the safety vulnerable group (안전 취약계층을 배려하는 재난 불안척도에 관한 연구)

  • In changes of social environment, change of the use of land due to the change of residence type, industry and urban structure is an influential factor to safety vulnerable social group. From PTSD from disaster experience point of view, experience of disaster, damage from disaster, witness of disaster make people experience anxiety and confusion, increase the anxiety toward disaster and lead to difficulty in daily lives. As for the result of analyzing anxiety factors regarding disaster damage potential composed of 20 items of safety manager, damage potential of sink hole which recently rapidly increased was the highest, and followed by anxiety from safety damage potential of family, anxiety from phone call damage. Likewise, if the anxiety toward disaster damage potential is digitized, it contributes to setting safety management planning for disaster prevention as it visualizes the risk.

Examining the Quality of Life Related to Fall Experience in Chronic Stroke Patients

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality of life related to fall experiences in chronic stroke patients. METHODS: This cross-sectional study included 117 patients with stroke from 3 hospitals in D metropolitan city. General characteristics, including fall experiences and quality of life, were assessed through a face-to-face interviews conducted in a quiet place using a questionnaire. Measurement of quality of life in stroke patients was conducted using the Korean Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL). To identify the SS-QOL items related to fall experiences, the items of the SS-QOL were considered as independent variables, and the variables that were significantly different according to fall experiences were identified using a univariate analysis. A binary logistic regression was then performed using fall experiences as the independent variable. RESULTS: According to the univariate analysis, self help activities, social role, and upper extremity function were significantly lower in the fall group than that in the non-fall group (p<.05). The findings of the binary logistic regression confirmed that social roles and upper extremity function were the SS-QOL items that were related to fall experience in chronic stroke patients. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that social roles and upper extremity function may be risk factors for fall experience in patients with chronic stroke.

Analysis of Social Network Service Data to Estimate Tourist Interests in Green Tour Activities

  • Social network service (SNS) data related to green tourism were used to estimate preferred tour sites and users' interests. Keywords related with green tour activities were employed to search the SNS data. SNS data were collected from Korean blogs such as Naver and Daum from June $1^{st}$ to August $31^{st}$ between 2015 and 2017 using text-mining solution. During the study period, seven hundred and five posts were analyzed. Associated words that frequently co-occurred with keywords were classified into different categories depending on the nature of associated words. Associated words included swimming pools and camping sites (location); experience and swimming pools (attribute); and water play and culture (culture/leisure). Our data suggest that SNS users with experience of green tourism in Korea exhibited interest in green tourism with swimming pools, camping sites, experience, water play and/or culture rather than particular popular sites. Based on the findings, it is recommended that preferred facilities such as swimming pools should be provided at green tourism sites to meet the users' needs and to facilitate green tourism.

Effects of Online Game Users' Need for Affect and Social Norms on their Attitude and Flow Experience (온라인 게임 이용자의 감정욕구와 사회규범 인식이 게임에 대한 태도 및 몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • The study took online game users' need for affect (approach/avoidance) and social norms (subjective/descriptive) into account and examined how these variables affected their attitude (utilitarian/hedonic) toward online games and their flow experience. Results from the hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that, game users' approach affect and subjective norm had significant impacts on their utilitarian attitude, while their approach/avoidance affect and subjective norm had on their hedonic attitude toward onine games. Plus, the avoidance affect, subjective norm, and utilitarian/hedonic attitudes of game users had significant impacts on their flow experience.

  • Smart tourism is a social phenomenon arising from the convergence of information technology with the tourism experience. New ways of doing business, new patterns of experience and new problems concerning tourism destination image management and marketing are emerging due to the ubiquitous presence and influence of the internet and mobile devices. New conceptual tools are also available to enable researchers to further understand the social implications as well as the practical implementation of these new virtual and augmented smart tourism ecosystems. To this effect this paper introduces the constructivist paradigm and associated research methodologies as another toolbox for interpreting how smart tourism works as a form of soft power. The implications revealed by constructivism are that through smart tourism ecosystems, destination commodification and commoditization, experience and image formation are increasingly self-perpetuating, autonomous and organic social constructions. Researchers in information technology can use constructivist research to further explore these dynamic developments in smart tourism.

  • In this paper, the research and development aim to strengthen the digital accessibility of the elderly by developing a kiosk incorporating AI voice recognition technology that can replace the promotional signage currently being installed and spread in the elderly and social welfare centers most frequently used by the digital underprivileged. It was intended to develop a converged system for the use of bulletin board functions, educational functions, and welfare center facilities, and to seek ways to increase the user's digital device experience through direct experience and education. Through interviews and surveys of senior citizens and social welfare centers, it was intended to collect problems and pain Points that the elderly currently experience in the process of using kiosks and apply them to the development process, and improve problems through pilot services. Through this study, it was confirmed that voice recognition technology is 2 to 6 times faster than keyboard input, so it is helpful for the elderly who are not familiar with device operation. However, it is necessary to improve the problem that there is a difference in the accuracy of the recognition rate according to the surrounding environment with noise. Through small efforts such as this study, we hope that the elderly will be a little free from digital alienation.

The Relationship among Traumatic Event Experience, Self Disclosure, Social Support, and Posttraumatic Growth of Intensive Care Unit Nurses (중환자실 간호사의 외상성 사건 경험, 자기노출, 사회적 지지 및 외상 후 성장과의 관계)

  • Purpose: This study examined the levels of traumatic event experience, self disclosure, social support, and posttraumatic growth of intensive care unit nurses and their relationships. Methods: Participants were 142 nurses who had worked for more than 3 months in six general hospitals, J province from August 7 to September 25, 2020. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using the program SPSS version 22.0. Results: The posttraumatic growth was found to correlate significantly with self disclosure (r=.23, p=.005), individual support (r=.54, p<.001), and organizational support (r=.32, p<.001). Factors influencing the participants of the posttraumatic growth were individual support (β=.46, p<.001) and organizational support (β=.21, p=.007). These factors explained 32.0% of the variance of ICU nurses' posttraumatic growth (F=14.13, p<.001). Conclusion: Efforts to support positive changes after traumatic event experience for ICU nurses are needed. We suggest to develop individual and organizational supportive programs for posttraumatic growth for ICU nurses and to investigate the effects of the programs.

The Development of Experience Education Program for Elementary Upper Grades using Local Environmental Resources of Jeju Island (제주도의 지역 환경 자원을 활용한 초등학교 고학년용 체험교육 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develope experience-education program for elementary students which use environmental resources and learning sources of Jeju island. This study designed developing framework of environmental education program for using local resources and developed experience-education program on the basis of it. Especially this program consisted of direct experience, indirect experience, and local community learning. This program consisted of five activities -'Jeju's water', 'Mecca of wind power', 'Rushing jellyfish', 'Ramsar wetland', and 'Searching the fossil'. Each activity themes was to use environmental resources of Jeju island. And this program had relationship with science, social studies, and ethics in the curriculum. The result of this study will serve to activate environmental education program for using local resources if we solve program's problem through application process.

A Study on the Type of and Barriers to Social Network Interventions : Cases of the Social Workers in the Domiciliary Service Centers (사회적 관계망 개입의 유형과 장애요인 연구 : 지역사회복지관 재가복지센터를 중심으로)

  • This study attempted to identify the type of social network interventions and barriers to implement them. Few empirical studies have been conducted concerning social network interventions as professional activities. Although social support and social network interventions have been noted as important practice concepts, the existing studies ten us little about how social workers perceive and experience social network interventions. This study used seven types of social network interventions identified in the previous studies. And based on "obstacles to social network interventions scale" developed by Biegel, Tracy & Song (1995), a twenty-two item scale was developed by the authors. The results from this study show that social workers little implement social network interventions such as community empowerment, family caregiver enhancement, and support group, and that they perceive organization characteristics and profession-oriented culture as important obstacles to implement social network interventions. The findings from this study suggest various strategies to address these barriers.

Experiencing High Loneliness Increases Evaluation of Products in Social Media Ads

  • This research investigates how loneliness affects people's preferences for products that appear in social media ads. Four studies examine the impact of loneliness that is both measured in an established scale and situationally induced via a recall task. Individuals who experience higher levels of loneliness evaluate the same products more highly when they are advertised in a social (i.e., Instagram) compared to non-social (i.e., brand website) media platform. This effect occurs because loneliness increases people's attention to others' social evaluation of a product, and social media ads provide this information via social cues such as "likes" embedded in the ads. When the social cues are absent, the advantage of advertising on social compared to non-social media for people with high (vs. low) loneliness disappears. The findings suggest that social media ads have a unique appeal for individuals experiencing loneliness and highlight the role of social cues in shaping product evaluations.
