Structural Design of Medium Scale Composite Wind Turbine Blade

  • In this study, the 750kW medium scale composite blade for the horizontal axis wind turbine system was designed and manufactured, and it was tested and evaluated by the specific structural test rig. In the test, it was found that local bucklings at the trailing edge of the blade and excessive deflections at the blade tip were happened. In order to solve these problems, the design of blade structure was modified. After improving the design, the abrupt change of deflection at the blade tip was reduced by smooth variation of the spar thickness and the local buckling was removed by extending the web length. The modified design was analyzed by the FEM, the safety and stability of the blade structure. And Fatigue life over 20 years was confirmed by using S-N linear damage method, Spera's method, etc.

On the Use of Finite Rotation Angles for Spacecraft Attitude Control

  • This paper examines finite rotation angle (FRA) applications for spacecraft attitude control. The coordinate transformation matrix and the attitude kinematics represented by FRAs are introduced. The interpolation techniques for the angular orientations are thoroughly investigated using the FRAs and the results are compared to those using traditional methods. The paper proposes trajectory description techniques by using extremely smooth polynomial functions of time, which can describe point-to-point attitude maneuvers in a realizable and accurate manner with the help of unique FRA features. In addition, new controller design techniques using the FRAs are developed by combining the proposed interpolation techniques with a model predictive control framework. The proposed techniques are validated through their attitude control applications for an aggressive point-to-point maneuver. Conclusively, the FRAs provide much more flexibility than quaternions and Euler angles when describing kinematics, generating trajectories, and designing attitude controllers for spacecraft.

하악에 발생한 횡문근육종 (Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma involving the mandibular ramus and its surrounding tissues)

  • Rhabdomyosarcoma, when it occurs in the head and neck, is primarily found in children. Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma is rarely seen in the oral lesion, comparing to the embryonal and the pleomorphic variants. This is a report of a case of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma in the mandible in a ten-year old girl who complained of a non-painful swelling on the right cheek. The right lower 1st molar was mobile. Her radiographs revealed an extensive radiolucency with somewhat irregular border on the right mandibular ramus. The right mandibular 1st and 2nd molars lost their lamina dura and were floating. CT images revealed smooth-outlined soft tissue mass occupying the pterygomandibular space, the infratemporal space, and the masseteric muscle with thinning and perforation of the right mandibular angle and ramus. Histopathological and immunohistochemical findings established the final diagnosis of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.

이동 로봇의 실시간 장애물 회피를 위한 새로운 방법 (A New Approach to Real-Time Obstacle Avoidance of a Mobile Robot)

  • This paper presents a new method for local obstacle avoidance of indoor mobile robots. The method combines a directional approach called the lane method and a velocity space approach. The lane method divides working area into lanes and then chooses the best lane to follow for efficient and collision-free movement. Then, the heading direction to enter and follow the best lane is decided, and translational and rotational velocity considering physical limitations of a mobile robot are determined. Since this method combines both the directional and velocity space method, it shows collision-free motion as well as smooth motion taking the dynamic of the robot into account.

Subjective Timbre Space of 45 Modified Violin Tones

  • In this paper we studied the reduced subjective timbre space of time-varying tones as well as steady state tones. 45 modified test tones were constructed from the original violin tone in consideration of 4 physical factors: spectrum envelope, inharmonicity, time-varying spectrum and time reversal. The semantic differential (SD) method was used in the listening test. According to the factor analysis, the adjectives can be factorized into 4 groups. The first factor is characterized by the adjectives, 'free', 'broad', 'deep', 'rich', 'strong' and 'reverberant', the second by 'tenor', 'clear', 'bright', 'light' and 'sharp', the third by 'easy', 'smooth', and 'solid', the fourth by 'warm' and 'full'. The first factor, 'richness', seems to be dependent upon the time-varying characteristic of a tone. The second factor, 'sharpness', is shown to play an important role in a time-varying tone as well as in a steady state tone.

  • This paper presents an efficient models for reinforeced concrete structures using CART-ANFIS(classification and regression tree-adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system). a fuzzy decision tree parttitions the input space of a data set into mutually exclusive regions, each of which is assigned a label, a value, or an action to characterize its data points. Fuzzy decision trees used for classification problems are often called fuzzy classification trees, and each terminal node contains a label that indicates the predicted class of a given feature vector. In the same vein, decision trees used for regression problems are often called fuzzy regression trees, and the terminal node labels may be constants or equations that specify the Predicted output value of a given input vector. Note that CART can select relevant inputs and do tree partitioning of the input space, while ANFIS refines the regression and makes it everywhere continuous and smooth. Thus it can be seen that CART and ANFIS are complementary and their combination constitutes a solid approach to fuzzy modeling.

  • For the "Hopf bundle" $S^1{\rightarrow}S^{2n,1}{\rightarrow}\mathbb{C}H^n$, horizontal lifts of simple closed curves are studied. Let ${\gamma}$ be a piecewise smooth, simple closed curve on a complete totally geodesic surface $S$ in the base space. Then the holonomy displacement along ${\gamma}$ is given by $$V({\gamma})=e^{{\lambda}A({\gamma})i}$$ where $A({\gamma})$ is the area of the region on the surface $S$ surrounded by ${\gamma}$; ${\lambda}=1/2$ or 0 depending on whether $S$ is a complex submanifold or not. We also carry out a similar investigation for the complex Heisenberg group $\mathbb{R}{\rightarrow}\mathcal{H}^{2n+1}{\rightarrow}\mathbb{C}^n$.

Triqubit-State Measurement-Based Image Edge Detection Algorithm

  • Aiming at the problem that the gradient-based edge detection operators are sensitive to the noise, causing the pseudo edges, a triqubit-state measurement-based edge detection algorithm is presented in this paper. Combing the image local and global structure information, the triqubit superposition states are used to represent the pixel features, so as to locate the image edge. Our algorithm consists of three steps. Firstly, the improved partial differential method is used to smooth the defect image. Secondly, the triqubit-state is characterized by three elements of the pixel saliency, edge statistical characteristics and gray scale contrast to achieve the defect image from the gray space to the quantum space mapping. Thirdly, the edge image is outputted according to the quantum measurement, local gradient maximization and neighborhood chain code searching. Compared with other methods, the simulation experiments indicate that our algorithm has less pseudo edges and higher edge detection accuracy.

저속 결빙조건이 표면 조도 형성에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Investigation on the Effect of Low-Speed Icing Condition to the Surface Roughness Formation)

  • 항공기 결빙 분야에서 표면 조도는 대류 열전달을 강화하고 국소 액적 부착률(Local Collection Efficiency)을 변화시킨다는 점에서 매우 중요한 요소로 받아들여지고 있다. 이에 따라 최근 결빙실험 분야에서는 표면 조도 형성과정 데이터를 획득하기 위한 노력이 진행되고 있다. 한편, 이러한 실험은 데이터 측정의 어려움으로 인해 주로 저속 결빙조건에서 수행되고 있다. 그러나 저속조건이 표면 조도의 최종 형상에 미치는 영향은 아직 거의 알려진 바가 없다. 본 연구는 저속 결빙조건에서 실험을 수행하고, 획득한 표면 조도 데이터와 결빙조건과의 연관성을 분석하였다. 분석 방법으로는 기존 고속조건 실험에 활용되는 지배 파라미터를 이용하였으며, 표면 조도의 경향성을 기존 고속 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 표면 조도 크기는 기존에 알려진 경향성과 잘 일치했지만, smooth zone 폭은 차이를 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 열-기계-전기 하중이 완전 연계된 스마트 구조물의 응력과 변형을 정확히 예측할 수 있는 판 이론을 개발하였다. 두께 방향으로 변위와 온도장은 3차 곡선에 선형 지그재그 장을 중첩하여 구하였다. 횡 수직방향 변형을 고러하기 위해 횡 수직 변위를 두께방향으로, 포물선으로 가정하였다. 전기장은 선형지그재그 형태로 가정하였다. 스마트 구조물의 층에 의존하는 변위장과 온도장의 자유도를 층 사이의 연속조건과, 평판의 위 아래 횡 방향 전단응력이 존재하지 않는다는 조건으로부터, 기준면에 의한 자유도로 나타내었다. 수치 예를 통해 제안된 이론의 정확도와 효율성을 평가하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 고차 지그재그 이론은 열 환경 하에서 두꺼운 지능 복합재료 평판의 정적, 동적 거동 해석에 사용될 수 있다.
