This study describes time lag responses between hydrological variables and phytoplankton biomass in a regulated river system, the lower Nakdong River in South Korea. The lower Nakdong is a typical flow-controlled lotic system, and its limnological characteristics are influenced by climatic variation such as monsoons and summer typhoons. Mean rainfall in the area during summer is about 1,200 mm, which comprises >60% of annual rainfall. Our results show that the regulation of flow in the Nakdong by multi-purpose dams from 1995 to 2004 affected phytoplankton dynamics. Diatom blooms occurred in winter, when the limited discharge allowed for proliferation of the phytoplankton community. Using multiple regression analysis, we detected significant time-delayed relationships between hydrological variables and phytoplankton biomass. These results may be useful for water resource managers, and suggest that 'smart flow' control would improve water quality in large regulated river systems of the Republic of Korea.

In this paper, a corner detection method based on a new non-cornerness measure is presented. Rather than evaluating local gradients or surface curvatures, as done in previous approaches, a non-cornerness function is developed that can identify stable corners by testing an image region against a set of desirable corner criteria. The non-cornerness function is comprised of two steps: 1) eliminate any pixel located in a flat region and 2) remove any pixel that is positioned along an edge in any orientation. A pixel that passes the non-cornerness test is considered a reliable corner. The proposed method also adopts the idea of non-maximum suppression to remove multiple corners from the results of the non-cornerness function. The proposed method is compared with previous popular methods and is tested with an artificial test image covering several corner forms and three real-world images that are universally used by the community to evaluate the accuracy of corner detectors. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms previous corner detectors with respect to accuracy, and that it is suitable for real-time processing.

The ultimate goal of CSV activities is to increase consumer loyalty to the company, brand or organization concerned. Thus, for a professional sports club, CSV activities will ultimately aim to enhance the loyalty of spectators who are consumers of the club. Subjects of this study are the spectators of professional volleyball. We distributed 300 survey to people who were aware of the club's CSV activities among the home spectators of Hyundai Capital SkyWalkers. Data processing was performed using SPSS 23 and AMOS 18 for the analysis of confirmed factors, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, and structural equation model analysis. From these results, we were able to come up with the social problem resolution and long-term orientation among the CSV activities of professional volleyball clubs which affect the club identification. And the identification formed within the spectators of the clubs through CSV affects the club loyalty directly or through the medium of club emotion. Professional volleyball clubs need to identify the problems the community has in planning and proceeding with CSV activities and seek strategies to address them together, and approach them from a long-term oriented perspective.

This paper draws the home into the stream of information and communications technology (ICT) development. Considering that homes and our home life are constantly affected by persistent change influenced by ICT, it is remarkable that ICT has been relatively neglected as an object of research in the field of housing studies. This study provides an overview of conceptual movements in ICT/home relationships and their design and social impact through a critical discourse analysis. The conceptual movements must be considered by professionals in the field of housing and built environment to stay attuned to changes in the 21st Century. Diverse debates took place in the discourse about ICT in relation to home. The stream of thought was started by futurists who saw the electronic cottage as a solution to the social problems caused by the separation of work and home life in industrial cities. ICT has now entered a new phase, with WiFi P2P networks and location-based social media that encourage sharable homes. Based on the analysis of the discourse on ICT and home, we drew from three issues related to the paradigm shifts in homes in the context of ICT development to provide future directions for housing studies: from space programming to time scheduling, from individual ownership to shared access, and from live+work dwelling to live+work+community.

반려동물을 키우는 사람들이 가장 중요시 여기는 부분이 바로 반려동물의 건강이다. 하지만 많은 사람들이 자신의 반려견이 비만인지 여부를 모르고 있다. 통계에 따르면 비만을 앓고 있는 반려견은 40%나 된다고 한다. 우리가 설계 개발한 이 앱은 현재 사용자가 많은 Android OS 기반의 Device에서 제공하고 있다. 어플리케이션 용량을 줄이기 위해 견종에 따른 표준 체중과 예방접종 시기 같은 데이터는 서버에 데이터베이스화 하였고 사용자가 입력을 하면 서버에 있는 데이터를 분석하여 현재의 상태를 보여준다. 아울러 커뮤니티 공간을 연계 구현하여 사용자 간의 정보를 나눌 수 있도록 설계하였다.

Solid waste management is currently a topic of concern, particularly in the protection of humans and the environment from toxic pollutants and hazardous materials. The importance of solid waste management is recognized at international, national, and community levels. Different agendas have been prioritized and assigned to improve quality of life, productivity, and health, and reduce the burden of pollution. Suitable management of solid waste requires appropriate technology that is affordable, socially accepted, and environmentally friendly. The use of a smart management system involving system dynamics can save energy, money, and labor. System dynamics is a computer-based approach that aids in predicting the behavioral patterns of variables, and correlating dependent and independent variables. The inclusion of system dynamics-based models in solid waste management has recently become more common. In this review, we used system dynamics to determine methods to disentangle solid waste management systems and analyzed different studies on solid waste management using system dynamics in different countries in detail. We also discussed the various software packages that are available for system dynamics and their usefulness for waste management. This review may help in understanding current solid waste management practices using system dynamics.

The new urbanization is one of prestige growth engines to lead the next generation of China economy, it promotes new sustainable urban development models guided by various planning polices to improve urban livability and sustainability in accommodation with economy, social, and environmental consideration. The expanding urban periphery to rural area should leverages existing assets, infrastructure, local context and plans as a showcase of environmental and economic balance in a responsibly high-density, green community designed to human development and ecological settlement. The Beijing Chaoyang District and Tianjin Binhai area are a strategic advancement in the policy of building one of the most powerful economic regions, the Bohai Rim. Recently released 'Jingjinji development plan' supports various urbanization policies and encourages sustainable developments including 2 significant city center projects which are under way in global attention. The study compared on the characters of development policies and the cutting-edge smart design strategies by which they are applied, the master plan of the Beijing Chaoyang District expansion plan and Tianjin Yujiapu CBD project embrace innovative sustainable technologies.

21st century has different characters from 20th century which was an era of machine and rationality based on the industrial revolution. With the advent of the digital revolution, it became an era of pluralism, culture, and emotion. The digital technology made it possible to connect the whole world together in real time and brought about the entirely new notion of time and space. It also dramatically altered the world view. Now we have a different set of social and cultural values from the past. This paper researched the influences of these social and cultural changes on public designs. The leading trends of public designs were analyzed and the successful cases were studied. The main research methodologies were the document review and the instrumental case study. The major social & cultural paradigms of a present era were classified as 'pluralism', 'digital & information revolution', 'human-centered value (against machine-centered value of 20th century)', and 'organic world view'. Each of the classified paradigms was analyzed more to find out the influences on the various trends of public designs. 'Pluralism' has influence on 'experiential public design', 'community art', and 'public design of local values'. 'Digital & information revolution' has influence on 'content-centered public design', 'smart public design', 'immaterial public design', and 'performance in public design'. 'Human-centered value' has influence on 'universal design approach in public design', and 'emotional public design'. 'Organic world view' has influence on 'sustainable public design', and 'ecological public design'.

최근 다양한 어플리케이션과 전용 임베디드 시스템의 개발 필요성이 증가하고 있으며 이는 Smart Community를 추구하는 디지털 지식사회의 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 현재 상용화되고 있는 대부분의 실시간 임베디드 시스템들을 다양한 측면에서 자사의 제품 기준에 따르는 기술적 특징과 성능 지표를 제공하고 있으며 이를 통한 성능 품질 등의 판단 근거로 제시되고 있다. 그러나 각 자료들이 공인 기관에서 제공되지 않아 자료의 신뢰도가 낮으며 따라서 성능측정 및 품질척도로 비교하는데는 어려움이 있다 따라서 본 연구는 이러한 문제점을 착안하여 자바 카드 API의 품질 평가를 위해서 사전에 테스트를 거쳐 좀더 신뢰성과 안전성이 높은 자바 카드 애플릿을 개발하고자 한다. 이에 가장 중요한 부분 중에 하나인 에러체크를 통해 임의적으로 에러 처리 시나리오를 작성해서 그 시나리오를 거친 테스트 데이터를 생성한 후, 그 데이터를 가지고 API의 풀질 평가를 하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 테스트 데이터 생성 시나리오를 제안하였다. 단지 제안만 해 놓았기 때문에 향후 이 시나리오를 거친 테스트 데이터 생성을 연구하고자 한다. 또한, Verification을 위해 수학에 기초를 둔 정형 기법(Formal Method)을 이용하여 좀더 깊이 있고, 정확한 검증을 수행 하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the beneficial effects of a new cognitive intervention program designed for the care and prevention of dementia, namely Learning Therapy. The training program used systematized basic problems in arithmetic and Japanese language as training tasks. In study 1, 16 individuals in the experimental group and 16 in the control group were recruited from a nursing home. In both groups, all individuals were clinically diagnosed with senile dementia of the Alzheimer type. In study 2, we performed a single-blind, randomized controlled trial in our cognitive intervention program of 124 community-dwelling seniors. In both studies, the daily training program using reading and arithmetic tasks was carried out approximately 5 days a week, for 15 to 20 minutes a day in the intervention groups. Neuropsychological measures were determined simultaneously in the groups both prior to and after six months of the intervention. The results of our investigations indicate that our cognitive intervention using reading and arithmetic problems demonstrated a transfer effect and they provide convincing evidence that cognitive training maintains and improves the cognitive functions of dementia patients and healthy seniors.
