  • Though digital imaging devices such as smart phones, digital cameras and office scanners have improved significantly over the past years, they are seldom used for industrial application. This may be attributable to high level of quality and performance requirement for industrial application, but there lacks a test or an objective evaluation whether the upgraded performance of entry-level device is sufficiently enough to replace existing industrial equipments or not. If there exists an industrial application area where the applicability of entry-level equipment is proved by some objective tests, then companies will be able to reduce investment on expensive industrial equipment. In this study, applicability of entry-level digital devices for color difference discrimination of PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) color sheet is tested. By testing smart phone, digital camera, and office scanner for color difference discrimination, authors have found that office scanner shows consistent result with less measurement error. Additional experiment on comparing office scanner with industrial spectrophotometer has confirmed that there exists high correlation between the two devices' results. Based on this result, office scanner may be applicable to discriminate the color difference of PVC sheet instead of expensive industrial spectrophotometer if proper management criteria are established.

  • This paper presents a novel approach for representing the spatio-temporal topology of the camera network with overlapping and non-overlapping fields of view (FOVs) in Ubiquitous Smart Space (USS). The topology is determined by tracking moving objects and establishing object correspondence across multiple cameras. To track people successfully in multiple camera views, we used the Merge-Split (MS) approach for object occlusion in a single camera and the grid-based approach for extracting the accurate object feature. In addition, we considered the appearance of people and the transition time between entry and exit zones for tracking objects across blind regions of multiple cameras with non-overlapping FOVs. The main contribution of this paper is to estimate transition times between various entry and exit zones, and to graphically represent the camera topology as an undirected weighted graph using the transition probabilities.

Recently, improvement methods using block chain technology are being studied. However, contract management systems have processing performance, security vulnerabilities, data entry, and service accessibility issues. In this paper, we propose a block - chain based contract management platform with block chain, smart contract, and Rest API. The suggested platform includes the RPBFT algorithm which solves the processing performance and security vulnerability of the existing consensus authentication algorithm, and the algorithm to prevent data entry and enhance transparency of participants. The block-chain-based contract management platform proposed in this paper provides a use environment with improved processing performance, security, reliability, and transparency, and can be used through API without burdening construction. Therefore, The effect can be expected.
