With the development of urbanization, the increasing of buildings density in urban core areas result in the complexity of construction environment. High-rise landmark building is always preferred in the construction of urban core areas. Super high-rise buildings construction are facing construction management difficulties due to the complex working conditions and enormous building system, especially with the complex surrounding environment of the urban core area, the construction management of super high-rise buildings in the area requires higher, refined and detailed standard. Based on a super high-rise project in a core area of Shanghai which has 370 m building height and 772,643 m2 building area, with complex surrounding environment, narrow construction site and many super-high-altitude crossing works. With the application of BIM technology, the Internet of Things, the LAN communication and other various intelligent mechanical equipment, information management systems, the efficiency and refinement of construction management are improved, ensuring the smooth implementation of the project while effectively controlling the impact on the surrounding environment.

In South Korea, there have been many studies on efficient building-energy management using renewable energy facilities in single zero-energy houses or buildings. However, such management was limited due to spatial and economic problems. To realize a smart zero-energy city, studying efficient energy integration for the entire city, not just for a single house or building, is necessary. Therefore, this study was conducted in the eco-friendly energy town of Chungbuk Innovation City. Chungbuk successfully realized energy independence by converging new and renewable energy facilities for the first time in South Korea. This study analyzes energy data collected from public buildings in that town every minute for a year. We propose a smart city building-energy management model based on the results that combine various renewable energy sources with grid power. Supervised learning can determine when it is best to sell surplus electricity, or unsupervised learning can be used if there is a particular pattern or rule for energy use. However, it is more appropriate to use reinforcement learning to maximize rewards in an environment with numerous variables that change every moment. Therefore, we propose a power distribution algorithm based on reinforcement learning that considers the sales of Energy Storage System power from surplus renewable energy. Finally, we confirm through economic analysis that a 10% saving is possible from this efficiency.
Purpose: This paper aims to propose a practical strategy for smart factories and a step-by-step quality strategy according to the maturity of smart factory construction. Methods: The characteristics, compositional requirements, and diagnosis system are examined for smart factories through theoretical considerations. Several cases of implementing smart factory are studied considering the company maturity level from the aspect of the smartness concept. And specific quality techniques and innovation activities are carefully reviewed. Results: The maturity level of smart factory was classified into five phases: 1) ICT non-application, 2) basic, 3) intermediate 1, 4) intermediate 2, 5) advanced level. A five-step quality strategy was established on the basis of case studies; identify, measure, analyze, optimize, and customize. Some quality techniques are introduced for step-by-step implementation of quality strategies. Conclusion: To build a successful smart factory, it is necessary to establish a quality strategy that suits the culture and size of the company. The quality management strategy proposed in this paper is expected to contribute to the establishment of appropriate strategies for the size and purpose of the company.

Smart grid (SG) software platforms and communication networks that run and manage the entire grid are increasingly concerned about cyber security. Characteristics of the smart grid networks, including heterogeneity, time restrictions, bandwidth, scalability, and other factors make it difficult to secure. The age-old strategy of "building bigger walls" is no longer sufficient given the rise in the quantity and size of cyberattacks as well as the sophisticated methods threat actor uses to hide their actions. Cyber security experts utilize technologies and procedures to defend IT systems and data from intruders. The primary objective of every organization's cybersecurity team is to safeguard data and information technology (IT) infrastructure. Consequently, further research is required to create guidelines and methods that are compatible with smart grid security. In this study, we have discussed objectives of of smart grid security, challenges of smart grid security, defensive cybersecurity techniques, offensive cybersecurity techniques and open research challenges of cybersecurity.

Microturbines system (MTS) are currently being deployed as small scale on-site distributed generators for microgrids and smart grids. In order to fully exploit DG potentialities, advanced integrated controls that include power electronics facilities, communication technologies and advanced modeling are required. Significant expectations are posed on gas microturbines that can be easily installed in large commercial and public buildings. Modeling, control, simulation of microturbine generator based distributed generation system in smart grid application of buildings for both grid-connected and islanding conditions are presented. It also incorporates modeling and simulation of MT with a speed control system of the MT-permanent magnet synchronous generator to keep the speed constant with load variation. Model and simulations are performed using MATLAB, Simulink and SimPowerSystem software package. The model is built from the dynamics of each part with their interconnections. This simplified model is a useful tool for studying the various operational aspects of MT and is also applicable with building cooling, heating and power (BCHP) systems

In this paper, excitation systems using a linear mass shaker (LMS) and an active tuned mass damper (ATMD) are presented to simulate the wind induced responses of a building structure. The actuator force for the excitation systems is calculated by using the inverse transfer function of a target structural response to the actuator. Filter and envelop functions are used to prevent the actuator from exciting unexpected modal responses and an initial transient response and thus, to minimize the error between the wind and actuator induced responses. The analyses results from a 76-story benchmark building problem for which the wind load obtained by a wind tunnel test is given, indicate that the excitation system installed at a specific floor can approximately reproduce the structural responses induced by the wind load applied to each floor of the structure. The excitation system designed by the proposed method can be effectively used for evaluating the wind response characteristics of a practical building structure and for obtaining an accurate analytical model of the building under wind load.
Nowadays, cloud computing and big data analytics are at the center of many industries' concerns to take advantage of the potential benefits of building future smart cities. The integration of cloud computing and big data analytics is the main reason for massive adoption in many organizations, avoiding the potential complexities of on-premise big data systems. With these two technologies, the manufacturing industry, healthcare system, education, academe, etc. are developing rapidly, and they will offer various benefits to expand their domains. In this issue, we present a summary of 18 high-quality accepted articles following a rigorous review process in the field of cloud computing and big data analytics.
This paper proposes an efficient system identification method for modeling nonlinear behavior of civil structures. This method is developed by integrating three different methodologies: principal component analysis (PCA), artificial neural networks, and fuzzy logic theory, hence named PANFIS (PCA-based adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system). To evaluate this model, a 3-story building equipped with a magnetorheological (MR) damper subjected to a variety of earthquakes is investigated. To train the input-output function of the PANFIS model, an artificial earthquake is generated that contains a variety of characteristics of recorded earthquakes. The trained model is also validated using the1940 El-Centro, Kobe, Northridge, and Hachinohe earthquakes. The adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is used as a baseline. It is demonstrated from the training and validation processes that the proposed PANFIS model is effective in modeling complex behavior of the smart building. It is also shown that the proposed PANFIS produces similar performance with the benchmark ANFIS model with significant reduction of computational loads.
