Localization of WLAN Access Point Smart Phone's GPS Information (스마트 폰의 GPS 정보를 이용한 무선랜 접속점 위치 측정 방법)

  • In this article, we propose a new method for precise WLAN (Wireless Area Network) AP (Access Point) localization using GPS information measured in the smart phone. The idea is that the possible area of WLAN AP location, called AP_Area, is first determined by measuring GPS information and the received signal strength in the smart phones. As the number of measurements from the smart phones increases, the AP_Area are successively narrowed down to the actual AP location. We have performed the simulation to evaluate the proposed algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can detect the Wi-Fi AP localization within 5 m (probability over than 90%).

  • We propose an interworking architecture between a smart TV and a smart phone. This architecture provides control mechanism for the newly adopted App on Smart-TV with smart phone. The general method connecting between a smart phone and a mobile AP is very carefully complex and troublesome procedure. The mobile AP transfers data from a smart phone to a smart TV after getting the connection. Connecting procedure between a smart phone and a mobile AP is therefore necessary operation. We worked out the new procedure and control method that acquires some information from Near Field Communication or Quick Reference codes for connecting between a smart TV and a smart phone. Our proposed architecture was confirmed practical possibility as user-oriented automatic connection and simple manipulation for control a kiosk or various display equipment.

  • Recently most of the hand-held smart devices have WiFi communication facility. This makes WiFi AP(access point) popular and cheaper than before. These circumstance launches some services with AP providing location based services and device control services. In this paper, we propose a AP based control system. The control system consists of AP's, AP controller and Android application program. The AP can collect MAC address information of the associated smart devices and control connected devices. The AP controller maintains DB for smart device position information and device control information. Finally Android application program provides users location based service and device control service.

  • 최근 Smart Phone에서 WiFi Zone의 활용도가 증가되고 있다. WiFi Zone의 무선 인터넷은 무선이 가지고 있는 취약점을 그대로 가지고 있기 때문에 보안에 대한 취약점이 존재하고 침해사고에 대비한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 WiFi Zone에서 암호가 설정된 무선 AP의 패킷을 수집하여 분석하고, 해당 무선 AP의 access 암호를 알아낸다. 암호분석과 WiFi Zone의 취약점을 분석하여 War Driving 기술을 사용하여 무선 인터넷의 취약점을 분석하고, 무선 AP에 대한 공격과 ARP Spoofing 공격을 하여 해당 무선 AP를 마비시키거나 위장 무선 AP를 설정하여 정보를 취득 하였다. 본 논문 연구를 통하여 Smart Phone과 무선 네트워크 보안성을 강화하는 연구 자료로 사용할 것이다.

  • Smart Phone 사용자가 증가하고, Smart Phone을 통한 침해사고도 증가되고 있다. 특히 2010년 3분기 국내 Smart Phone의 31%를 차지하고 있는 iPhone은 사용자가 Jailbreak를 통하여 관리자 권한을 스스로 획득함으로서 이를 악용한다면 개인정보 탈취 등 침해사고의 위험이 있다. 본 논문에서는 Jailbreak 한 iPhone을 이용하여 주변의 802.11 Packet Sniffing공격을 실시하고 802.11 AP 취약점을 분석한다. 또한 Google Map을 이용해 주변의 무선 AP 위치를 파악하고 AP의 종류, 위치, 거리, MAC, SSID, RSSI, Channel, 보안설정 정보를 탈취한다. 본 논문을 통하여 스마트폰과 무선 인터넷 보안성 강화를 위한 기초 자료를 제공하게 될 것이다.

Performance Evaluation of a Smart CoAP Gateway for Remote Home Safety Services

  • In this paper, a smart constrained application protocol (CoAP)-based gateway with a border router is proposed for home safety services to remotely monitor the trespass, fire, and indoor air quality. The smart CoAP gateway controls a home safety sensor node with a pyroelectric infrared motion sensor, a fire sensor, a humidity and temperature sensor, and a non-dispersive infrared CO2 sensor and gathers sensing data from them. In addition, it can convert physical sensing data into understandable information and perform packet conversion as a border router for seamless connection between a low-power wireless personal area network (6LoWPAN) and the Internet (IPv6). Implementation and laboratory test results verify the feasibility of the smart CoAP gateway which especially can provide about 97.20% data throughput.

  • In general, it is essential that contents are to be provided with proper bitrate according to network conditions in order to support higher quality of video streaming services over wired and wireless networks. Recently, DASH is adopted by the MPEG as the standard for HTTP based adaptive streaming technology and consists of the server and clients. The clients should parse XML files from the server and play contents after accessing the finely divided segments into various bitrates. In this paper, we designed a Smart AP(Access Point) which exists between DASH contents server and Non-DASH clients enables provide DASH services to Non-DASH clients. In addition, proposed Smart AP provides DASH service to various types of clients as maintaining the existing environment without additional development costs.

  • As the IT industry develops, the smart-phone technology and functions which are actively being studied at the moment greatly influence the entire living environment. With the smart-phone technology and functions, people's interest for the wireless LAN which can be used to get access to the Internet anytime anywhere is gradually increasing. However, since the malicious attacker can easily carry out hacking or approach the contents due to the characteristics of the wireless radio wave, the personal information with a high level of importance for data security is easily exposed due to Spoofing, Denial of Service attack and Man in the Middle attack. Therefore, the demand for security is gradually increasing. In this paper, the safe wireless network service environment is provided by supplementing the vulnerability in regard to Spoofing, Session Hijacking and Man in the Middle attack after executing the client's authentication process, the AP authentication process and the Mobile Agency authentication process with the client's information in the USIM, the AP information and the Mobile Agency information when the client uses the wireless Internet through the Mobile Agency AP access in the smart phone environment.

  • For efficient energy usage, the concept of demand response has been emerged and thereby Open Automated D emand Response(OpenADR) protocol is developed as a standard protocol to provide automated demand response. There have been emerging trends on the demand response services using the Internet of Things(IoT) for smart h ome energy management. In this smart home energy IoT environment, a lightweight protocol is needed rather tha n the existing HTTP/ XML based OpenADR protocol for demand response services since many small devices wi ll be interconnected. In this paper, we propose a lightweight OpenADR protocol based on CoAP protocol for pro viding demand response service in Smart Energy IoT environment, implement the proposed CoAP-based protocol, and analyzed the performance compared to existing HTTP/ XML-based OpenADR 2.0b protocol.
