  • This paper presents a novel approach to recognize human gestures using k-NN and DTW based on Con tactless Electronic Potential Sensor(CEPS) in the smart devices such as smart TV and smart-phone in the proposed method, we used a Kalman filter to remove noise on gesture signal from CEPS and a PCA algorithm is utilized for reducing the dimensionality of gesture signal without data losses. And then in order to categorize gesture signals, k-NN classifier with DTW distance measure is considered. In the experimental result, we evaluate recognition performance with CEPS gesutres signal form the above two types of smart devices, and we can successfully identify five different gestures with more than 90% of recognition accuracy.

  • Recently the existing one-way electricity system that combines information and communications technology to develop smart grid technology is made active. The core infrastructure of the smart grid, AMI smart meters to AMR system, the amount of power measured at the top to MDMS transmits data store. Smart meters utilizing information and communication technology to transfer data and power because of the existing security threats are expected, including the additional security threats. It exposes the privacy of consumers and industrial systems, such as paralysis is likely to result in the loss. In this paper to respond to these security threats in the environment smart grid. Also, We propose data transfer methods between smartmeter and MDMS and between home device and MDMS.

  • Todays, many public institutes and corporations are constructing smart-works centers with high tech remote task system. In spite of the strong points on the smart works system, these can cause techno-stress on users. In this point, this paper is to understand the effect of dealing activities against techno-stress on smart-works performance in smart works environments. While many studies on ICT and information system have been focusing on performance, it is considering personal factors to impede system success and performance.

  • The digitization of ship environments has increased the risk of cyberattacks on ships. The smartization and automation of ships are also likely to result in cyber threats. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has discussed the establishment of regulations at the autonomous level and has revised existing agreements by dividing autonomous ships into four stages, where stages 1 and 2 are for sailors who are boarding ships while stages 3 and 4 are for those not boarding ships. In this study, the level of a smart ship was classified into LEVELs (LVs) 1 to 3 based on the autonomous levels specified by the IMO. Furthermore, a risk assessment for smart ships at various LVs in different risk scenarios was conducted The cyber threats and vulnerabilities of smart ships were analyzed by dividing them into administrative, physical, and technical security; and mitigation measures for each security area were derived. A total of 22 cyber threats were identified for the cyber asset (target system). We inferred that the higher the level of a smart ship, the greater the hyper connectivity and the remote access to operational technology systems; consequently, the greater the attack surface. Therefore, it is necessary to apply mitigation measures using technical security controls in environments with high-level smart ships.

  • In this paper, we introduce smart home service based on ubiquitous environment and context awareness. We define the multi- context environment and the context collision caused by many user that the existing study of smart home is unconcerned with. Heal home is the space where various contexts are created and disappeared in. Smart home appliances are restricted within their service. We divide the home space by main uses of rooms and group smart service by sensory organ. And we introduce the multi-context manager consist with context interpreter, context collision manager and smart service manager.

  • In order to enable network robots to effectively collaborate with smart environments, it is crucial that various types of heterogeneous device platforms can communicate each other in flexible and efficient manners. Most of existing software platforms for network robots adopted general-purpose middlewares such as CORBA, which are not suitable to the communication between robots and smart environments due to their heavy size and complexity. Moreover, they do not provide network robot-specific features. Therefore, we propose a new TCP-based Remote Method Invocation framework. We devide the middleware into two layers i. e. transport layers and rmi layers and provide key features to each layer so that network robots can effectively communicate with various devices in smart environments.

  • With the rapid growth of recent smart phone technology, the interests for the design of online game in mobile computing environment are highly focussed on with great attention. Smart phone as a mobile terminal device, however, has many restrictions for implementing online mobile game since the limitation of relatively low performance of a processor, low resolution of GUI, small memory spaces, and short battery power. Therefore, most of games are very restricted on online and multi-play functions. In this paper, we design and implement mobile online game app in component based smart phone environment in order to take over these restrictions in mobile environment. Especially, the implemented mobile game is able to play online game among Wi-Fi based game server and another smart phone.

  • Recently, in order to increase the efficiency of the product production process, the automation of facilities and devices in the factory is in progress, and a smart factory is being built using ICT and IoT technologies. In order to organically solve many problems occurring in the smart factory, a system for monitoring the wireless communication function between facilities and devices and the manufacturing process environment of the smart factory is required. In this paper, we propose a monitoring system using a Bluetooth module, a temperature/humidity sensor and a fine dust sensor to remotely monitor the process environment of a smart factory. The proposed monitoring system collect Arduino sensor values wirelessly through Bluetooth communication.
